Kʰaaṫee. 1. ਖੁਦਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਲਕੜੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਤਰਖਾਣ ਭਾਵ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤ ਦਾ। 2. ਖਾਂਦੀ। 3. ਟੋਏ ਵਿਚ। 1. one who digs, carpenter, viz., of low caste. 2. eats, partakes. 3. ditch.
ਉਦਾਹਰਨਾ:
1. ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਨੁ ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਖਾਤੀ ॥ Raga Gond, Kabir, 5, 2:4 (P: 871).
2. ਪਾਂਡੇ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਗਾਇਤ੍ਰੀ ਲੋਧੇ ਕਾ ਖੇਤੁ ਖਾਤੀ ਥੀ ॥ Raga Gond, Naamdev, 7, 1:1 (P: 874).
3. ਗਲਾਂ ਕਰੇ ਘਣੇਰੀਆ ਤਾਂ ਅੰਨੑੇ ਪਵਣਾ ਖਾਤੀ ਟੋਵੈ ॥ Salok 1, 32:2 (P: 1412).

ਸੰ. क्षतृ- ਕ੍ਸ਼ਤ੍ਰੀ. ਨਾਮ/n. ਕੱਟਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਤਖਾਣ. ਭਾਵ- ਸ਼ੂਦ੍ਰ. “ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਣ ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਖਾਤੀ.” (ਗੌਂਡ ਕਬੀਰ) 2. ਸੰ. खातृ. ਵਿ. ਖੋਦਣ ਵਾਲਾ. ਪੁੱਟਣ ਵਾਲਾ। 3. ਖਾਤੇ (ਗ਼ਾਰ) ਵਿੱਚ. “ਅੰਨੇ ਪਵਣਾ ਖਾਤੀ ਟੋਵੈ.” (ਸਵਾ ਮਃ ੧). Footnotes:
