Jéṫʰ. 1. ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਵਡਾ ਭਰਾ। 2. ਬਿਕਰਮੀ ਸੰਮਤ ਦਾ ਤੀਜਾ ਮਹੀਨਾ। 1. elder brother of husband. 2. third month of Bikrami Samvat.
ਉਦਾਹਰਨਾ:
1. ਸਾਸੁ ਕੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਸਸੁਰ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਜੇਠ ਕੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਡਰਉ ਰੇ ॥ (ਭਾਵ ਜਮ). Raga Aaasaa, Kabir, 25, 1:1 (P: 482).
2. ਗ੍ਰੀਖਮ ਰੁਤਿ ਅਤਿ ਗਾਖੜੀ ਜੇਠ ਅਖਾੜੈ ਘਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥ Raga Raamkalee 5, Rutee Salok, 3:1 (P: 928).

ਦੇਖੋ- ਜੇਸਟ। 2. ਜ੍ਯੈਸ਼੍ਠ. ਜੇਠ ਦਾ ਮਹੀਨਾ. “ਹਰਿ ਜੇਠ ਜੁੜੰਦਾ ਲੋੜੀਐ.” (ਬਾਰਹਮਾਹਾ ਮਾਝ) ਦੇਖੋ- ਜੁੜੰਦਾ ੩। 3. ਵਿ. ਜੇਠਾ. ਜਠੇਰਾ. “ਜੇਠ ਕੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਡਰਉ.” (ਆਸਾ ਕਬੀਰ) ਇਸ ਥਾਂ ਭਾਵ ਯਮਰਾਜ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ. ਸਾਂਪ੍ਰਦਾਈ ਗ੍ਯਾਨੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਾਲ ਰਚਕੇ ਫੇਰ ਜਗਤ ਰਚਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਜੇਠ ਹੈ. Footnotes:
