ਭੈ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਗਏ ਖਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
भै भ्रम बिनसि गए खिन माहि ॥
Bʰæ bʰaram binas ga▫é kʰin maahi.
Their fears and doubts are dispelled in an instant.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥
पारब्रहमु वसिआ मनि आइ ॥१॥
Paarbarahm vasi▫aa man aa▫é. ||1||
The Supreme Lord God comes to dwell in their minds. ||1||
|
ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਸੰਤ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਾਇ ॥
राम राम संत सदा सहाइ ॥
Raam raam sanṫ saḋaa sahaa▫é.
The Lord is forever the Help and Support of the Saints.
|
ਘਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਨਾਲੇ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਭ ਠਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
घरि बाहरि नाले परमेसरु रवि रहिआ पूरन सभ ठाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gʰar baahar naalé parmésar rav rahi▫aa pooran sabʰ tʰaa▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Inside the home of the heart, and outside as well, the Transcendent Lord is always with us, permeating and pervading all places. ||1||Pause||
|
ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
धनु मालु जोबनु जुगति गोपाल ॥
Ḋʰan maal joban jugaṫ gopaal.
The Lord of the World is my wealth, property, youth and ways and means.

ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
जीअ प्राण नित सुख प्रतिपाल ॥
Jee▫a paraaṇ niṫ sukʰ parṫipaal.
He continually cherishes and brings peace to my soul and breath of life.

ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਦੇ ਰਾਖੈ ਹਾਥ ॥
अपने दास कउ दे राखै हाथ ॥
Apné ḋaas ka▫o ḋé raakʰæ haaṫʰ.
He reaches out with His Hand and saves His slave.

ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਛੋਡੈ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਥ ॥੨॥
निमख न छोडै सद ही साथ ॥२॥
Nimakʰ na chʰodæ saḋ hee saaṫʰ. ||2||
He does not abandon us, even for an instant; He is always with us. ||2||
|
ਹਰਿ ਸਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
हरि सा प्रीतमु अवरु न कोइ ॥
Har saa pareeṫam avar na ko▫é.
There is no other Beloved like the Lord.

ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮੑਾਲੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥
सारि सम्हाले साचा सोइ ॥
Saar samĥaalé saachaa so▫é.
The True Lord takes care of all.
|
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧੁ ਨਰਾਇਣੁ ॥
मात पिता सुत बंधु नराइणु ॥
Maaṫ piṫaa suṫ banḋʰ naraa▫iṇ.
The Lord is our Mother, Father, Son and Relation.

ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਭਗਤ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਣੁ ॥੩॥
आदि जुगादि भगत गुण गाइणु ॥३॥
Aaḋ jugaaḋ bʰagaṫ guṇ gaa▫iṇ. ||3||
Since the beginning of time, and throughout the ages, His devotees sing His Glorious Praises. ||3||
|
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਧਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਜੋਰੁ ॥
तिस की धर प्रभ का मनि जोरु ॥
Ṫis kee ḋʰar parabʰ kaa man jor.
My mind is filled with the Support and the Power of the Lord.

ਏਕ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ॥
एक बिना दूजा नही होरु ॥
Ék binaa ḋoojaa nahee hor.
Without the Lord, there is no other at all.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਪੁਰਖਾਰਥੁ ॥
नानक कै मनि इहु पुरखारथु ॥
Naanak kæ man ih purkʰaaraṫʰ.
Nanak’s mind is encouraged by this hope,

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਆਰਥੁ ॥੪॥੩੮॥੫੧॥
प्रभू हमारा सारे सुआरथु ॥४॥३८॥५१॥
Parabʰoo hamaaraa saaré su▫aaraṫʰ. ||4||38||51||
that God will accomplish my objectives in life. ||4||38||51||

Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:

ਭੈ ਕਉ ਭਉ ਪੜਿਆ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥
भै कउ भउ पड़िआ सिमरत हरि नाम ॥
Bʰæ ka▫o bʰa▫o paṛi▫aa simraṫ har naam.
Fear itself becomes afraid, when the mortal remembers the Lord’s Name in meditation.

ਸਗਲ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਮਿਟੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਕੀ ਦਾਸ ਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सगल बिआधि मिटी त्रिहु गुण की दास के होए पूरन काम ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sagal bi▫aaḋʰ mitee ṫarihu guṇ kee ḋaas ké ho▫é pooran kaam. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
All the diseases of the three gunas - the three qualities - are cured, and tasks of the Lord’s slaves are perfectly accomplished. ||1||Pause||

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਧਾਮ ॥
हरि के लोक सदा गुण गावहि तिन कउ मिलिआ पूरन धाम ॥
Har ké lok saḋaa guṇ gaavahi ṫin ka▫o mili▫aa pooran ḋʰaam.
The people of the Lord always sing His Glorious Praises; they attain His Perfect Mansion.

ਜਨ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਬਾਂਛੈ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਹੋਇ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਜਾਮ ॥੧॥
जन का दरसु बांछै दिन राती होइ पुनीत धरम राइ जाम ॥१॥
Jan kaa ḋaras baaⁿchʰæ ḋin raaṫee ho▫é puneeṫ ḋʰaram raa▫é jaam. ||1||
Even the Righteous Judge of Dharma and the Messenger of Death yearn, day and night, to be sanctified by the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s humble servant. ||1||
|
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮਦ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ॥
काम क्रोध लोभ मद निंदा साधसंगि मिटिआ अभिमान ॥
Kaam kroḋʰ lobʰ maḋ ninḋaa saaḋʰsang miti▫aa abʰimaan.
Sexual desire, anger, intoxication, egotism, slander and egotistical pride are eradicated in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਐਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਭੇਟਹਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੨॥੩੯॥੫੨॥
ऐसे संत भेटहि वडभागी नानक तिन कै सद कुरबान ॥२॥३९॥५२॥
Æsé sanṫ bʰétėh vadbʰaagee Naanak ṫin kæ saḋ kurbaan. ||2||39||52||
By great good fortune, such Saints are met. Nanak is forever a sacrifice to them. ||2||39||52||

ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
भैरउ महला ५ ॥
Bʰæro mėhlaa 5.
Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:

ਪੰਚ ਮਜਮੀ ਜੋ ਪੰਚਨ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
पंच मजमी जो पंचन राखै ॥
Panch majmee jo panchan raakʰæ.
One who harbors the five thieves, becomes the embodiment of these five.
|
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਰਸਨਾ ਨਿਤ ਉਠਿ ਭਾਖੈ ॥
मिथिआ रसना नित उठि भाखै ॥
Miṫʰi▫aa rasnaa niṫ utʰ bʰaakʰæ.
He gets up each day and tells lies.
|
ਚਕ੍ਰ ਬਣਾਇ ਕਰੈ ਪਾਖੰਡ ॥
चक्र बणाइ करै पाखंड ॥
Chakar baṇaa▫é karæ pakʰand.
He applies ceremonial religious marks to his body, but practices hypocrisy.
|
ਝੁਰਿ ਝੁਰਿ ਪਚੈ ਜੈਸੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੰਡ ॥੧॥
झुरि झुरि पचै जैसे त्रिअ रंड ॥१॥
Jʰur jʰur pachæ jæsé ṫari▫a rand. ||1||
He wastes away in sadness and pain, like a lonely widow. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਭ ਝੂਠੁ ॥
हरि के नाम बिना सभ झूठु ॥
Har ké naam binaa sabʰ jʰootʰ.
Without the Name of the Lord, everything is false.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਸਾਕਤ ਮੂਠੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बिनु गुर पूरे मुकति न पाईऐ साची दरगहि साकत मूठु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bin gur pooré mukaṫ na paa▫ee▫æ saachee ḋargahi saakaṫ mootʰ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Without the Perfect Guru, liberation is not obtained. In the Court of the True Lord, the faithless cynic is plundered. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸੋਈ ਕੁਚੀਲੁ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
सोई कुचीलु कुदरति नही जानै ॥
So▫ee kucheel kuḋraṫ nahee jaanæ.
One who does not know the Lord’s Creative Power is polluted.

ਲੀਪਿਐ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਸੁਚਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
लीपिऐ थाइ न सुचि हरि मानै ॥
Leepi▫æ ṫʰaa▫é na such har maanæ.
Ritualistically plastering one’s kitchen square does not make it pure in the Eyes of the Lord.

ਅੰਤਰੁ ਮੈਲਾ ਬਾਹਰੁ ਨਿਤ ਧੋਵੈ ॥
अंतरु मैला बाहरु नित धोवै ॥
Anṫar mælaa baahar niṫ ḋʰovæ.
If a person is polluted within, he may wash himself everyday on the outside,
|
ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਅਪਨੀ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਵੈ ॥੨॥
साची दरगहि अपनी पति खोवै ॥२॥
Saachee ḋargahi apnee paṫ kʰovæ. ||2||
but in the Court of the True Lord, he forfeits his honor. ||2||
|
ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਕਰੈ ਉਪਾਉ ॥
माइआ कारणि करै उपाउ ॥
Maa▫i▫aa kaaraṇ karæ upaa▫o.
He works for the sake of Maya,
|
ਕਬਹਿ ਨ ਘਾਲੈ ਸੀਧਾ ਪਾਉ ॥
कबहि न घालै सीधा पाउ ॥
Kabėh na gʰaalæ seeḋʰaa paa▫o.
but he never places his feet on the right path.
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਣੈ ॥
जिनि कीआ तिसु चीति न आणै ॥
Jin kee▫aa ṫis cheeṫ na aaṇæ.
He never even remembers the One who created him.
|
ਕੂੜੀ ਕੂੜੀ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥੩॥
कूड़ी कूड़ी मुखहु वखाणै ॥३॥
Kooṛee kooṛee mukʰahu vakʰaaṇæ. ||3||
He speaks falsehood, only falsehood, with his mouth. ||3||
|
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ॥
जिस नो करमु करे करतारु ॥
Jis no karam karé karṫaar.
That person, unto whom the Creator Lord shows Mercy,
|
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਇ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥
साधसंगि होइ तिसु बिउहारु ॥
Saaḋʰsang ho▫é ṫis bi▫uhaar.
deals with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗਾ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
हरि नाम भगति सिउ लागा रंगु ॥
Har naam bʰagaṫ si▫o laagaa rang.
One who lovingly worships the Lord’s Name,
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਨਹੀ ਭੰਗੁ ॥੪॥੪੦॥੫੩॥
कहु नानक तिसु जन नही भंगु ॥४॥४०॥५३॥
Kaho Naanak ṫis jan nahee bʰang. ||4||40||53||
says Nanak - no obstacles ever block his way. ||4||40||53||
|
ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ ਫਿਟਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
निंदक कउ फिटके संसारु ॥
Ninḋak ka▫o fitké sansaar.
The entire universe curses the slanderer.
|
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ ਝੂਠਾ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥
निंदक का झूठा बिउहारु ॥
Ninḋak kaa jʰootʰaa bi▫uhaar.
False are the dealings of the slanderer.
|
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ ਮੈਲਾ ਆਚਾਰੁ ॥
निंदक का मैला आचारु ॥
Ninḋak kaa mælaa aachaar.
The slanderer’s lifestyle is filthy and polluted.
|
ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਉ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
दास अपुने कउ राखनहारु ॥१॥
Ḋaas apuné ka▫o raakʰanhaar. ||1||
The Lord is the Saving Grace and the Protector of His slave. ||1||
|
ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਮੁਆ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
निंदकु मुआ निंदक कै नालि ॥
Ninḋak mu▫aa ninḋak kæ naal.
The slanderer dies with the rest of the slanderers.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਜਨ ਰਾਖੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਕੜਕਿਓ ਕਾਲੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
पारब्रहम परमेसरि जन राखे निंदक कै सिरि कड़किओ कालु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Paarbarahm parmésar jan raakʰé ninḋak kæ sir kaṛki▫o kaal. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
The Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, protects and saves His humble servant. Death roars and thunders over the head of the slanderer. ||1||Pause||
