ਪਰਤਿਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਕਵਨ ਗੁਨ ਗਨੀ ॥
परतिपाल प्रभ क्रिपाल कवन गुन गनी ॥
Parṫipaal parabʰ kirpaal kavan gun ganee.
God is the Compassionate Cherisher. Who can count His Glorious Virtues?

ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਬਹੁ ਤਰੰਗ ਸਰਬ ਕੋ ਧਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अनिक रंग बहु तरंग सरब को धनी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Anik rang baho ṫarang sarab ko ḋʰanee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Countless colors, and countless waves of joy; He is the Master of all. ||1||Pause||

ਅਨਿਕ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਨਿਕ ਧਿਆਨ ਅਨਿਕ ਜਾਪ ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ॥
अनिक गिआन अनिक धिआन अनिक जाप जाप ताप ॥
Anik gi▫aan anik ḋʰi▫aan anik jaap jaap ṫaap.
Endless spiritual wisdom, endless meditations, endless chants, intense meditations and austere self-disciplines.

ਅਨਿਕ ਗੁਨਿਤ ਧੁਨਿਤ ਲਲਿਤ ਅਨਿਕ ਧਾਰ ਮੁਨੀ ॥੧॥
अनिक गुनित धुनित ललित अनिक धार मुनी ॥१॥
Anik guniṫ ḋʰuniṫ laliṫ anik ḋʰaar munee. ||1||
Countless virtues, musical notes and playful sports; countless silent sages enshrine Him in their hearts. ||1||
|
ਅਨਿਕ ਨਾਦ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਜ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਅਨਿਕ ਸ੍ਵਾਦ ਅਨਿਕ ਦੋਖ ਅਨਿਕ ਰੋਗ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਜਸ ਸੁਨੀ ॥
अनिक नाद अनिक बाज निमख निमख अनिक स्वाद अनिक दोख अनिक रोग मिटहि जस सुनी ॥
Anik naaḋ anik baaj nimakʰ nimakʰ anik savaaḋ anik ḋokʰ anik rog mitėh jas sunee.
Countless melodies, countless instruments, countless tastes, each and every instant. Countless mistakes and countless diseases are removed by hearing His Praise.

Naanak sév apaar ḋév ṫatah kʰatah baraṫ poojaa gavan bʰavan jaaṫar karan sagal fal punee. ||2||1||57||8||21||7||57||93||
O Nanak! Serving the Infinite, Divine Lord, one earns all the rewards and merits of performing the six rituals, fasts, worship services, pilgrimages to sacred rivers, and journeys to sacred shrines. ||2||1||57||8||21||7||57||93||

ਆਤਮ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਾਮ ਮਹਿ ਆਤਮੁ ਚੀਨਸਿ ਗੁਰ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
आतम महि रामु राम महि आतमु चीनसि गुर बीचारा ॥
Aaṫam mėh raam raam mėh aaṫam cheenas gur beechaaraa.
The Lord is in the soul, and the soul is in the Lord. This is realized through the Guru’s Teachings.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਣੀ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਟੈ ਹਉ ਮਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
अमृत बाणी सबदि पछाणी दुख काटै हउ मारा ॥१॥
Amriṫ baṇee sabaḋ pachʰaaṇee ḋukʰ kaatæ ha▫o maaraa. ||1||
The Ambrosial Word of the Guru’s Bani is realized through the Word of the Shabad. Sorrow is dispelled, and egotism is eliminated. ||1||
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗ ਬੁਰੇ ॥
नानक हउमै रोग बुरे ॥
Naanak ha▫umæ rog buré.
O Nanak! The disease of egotism is so very deadly.
|
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾਂ ਤਹ ਏਕਾ ਬੇਦਨ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਧੁਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जह देखां तह एका बेदन आपे बखसै सबदि धुरे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jah ḋékʰaaⁿ ṫah ékaa béḋan aapé bakʰsæ sabaḋ ḋʰuré. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Wherever I look, I see the pain of the same disease. The Primal Lord Himself bestows the Shabad of His Word. ||1||Pause||

ਆਪੇ ਪਰਖੇ ਪਰਖਣਹਾਰੈ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਸੂਲਾਕੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
आपे परखे परखणहारै बहुरि सूलाकु न होई ॥
Aapé parkʰé parkʰaṇhaaræ bahur soolaak na ho▫ee.
When the Appraiser Himself appraises the mortal, then he is not tested again.

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਭਈ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਣਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥
जिन कउ नदरि भई गुरि मेले प्रभ भाणा सचु सोई ॥२॥
Jin ka▫o naḋar bʰa▫ee gur mélé parabʰ bʰaaṇaa sach so▫ee. ||2||
Those who are blessed with His Grace meet with the Guru. They alone are true, who are pleasing to God. ||2||

ਪਉਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਰੋਗੀ ਰੋਗੀ ਧਰਤਿ ਸਭੋਗੀ ॥
पउणु पाणी बैसंतरु रोगी रोगी धरति सभोगी ॥
Pa▫uṇ paaṇee bæsanṫar rogee rogee ḋʰaraṫ sabʰogee.
Air, water and fire are diseased; the world with its enjoyments is diseased.

ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇਹ ਸਿ ਰੋਗੀ ਰੋਗੀ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ॥੩॥
मात पिता माइआ देह सि रोगी रोगी कुट्मब संजोगी ॥३॥
Maaṫ piṫaa maa▫i▫aa ḋéh sė rogee rogee kutamb sanjogee. ||3||
Mother, father, Maya and the body are diseased; those united with their relatives are diseased. ||3||
|
ਰੋਗੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਸਰੁਦ੍ਰਾ ਰੋਗੀ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
रोगी ब्रहमा बिसनु सरुद्रा रोगी सगल संसारा ॥
Rogee barahmaa bisan saruḋraa rogee sagal sansaaraa.
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are diseased; the whole world is diseased.

ਹਰਿ ਪਦੁ ਚੀਨਿ ਭਏ ਸੇ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥੪॥
हरि पदु चीनि भए से मुकते गुर का सबदु वीचारा ॥४॥
Har paḋ cheen bʰa▫é sé mukṫé gur kaa sabaḋ veechaaraa. ||4||
Those who remember the Lord’s Feet and contemplate the Word of the Guru’s Shabad are liberated. ||4||

ਰੋਗੀ ਸਾਤ ਸਮੁੰਦ ਸਨਦੀਆ ਖੰਡ ਪਤਾਲ ਸਿ ਰੋਗਿ ਭਰੇ ॥
रोगी सात समुंद सनदीआ खंड पताल सि रोगि भरे ॥
Rogee saaṫ samunḋ sanḋee▫aa kʰand paṫaal sė rog bʰaré.
The seven seas are diseased, along with the rivers; the continents and the nether regions of the underworlds are full of disease.

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਿ ਸਾਚਿ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਸਰਬੀ ਥਾਈ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥੫॥
हरि के लोक सि साचि सुहेले सरबी थाई नदरि करे ॥५॥
Har ké lok sė saach suhélé sarbee ṫʰaa▫ee naḋar karé. ||5||
The people of the Lord dwell in Truth and peace; He blesses them with His Grace everywhere. ||5||

ਰੋਗੀ ਖਟ ਦਰਸਨ ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ਨਾਨਾ ਹਠੀ ਅਨੇਕਾ ॥
रोगी खट दरसन भेखधारी नाना हठी अनेका ॥
Rogee kʰat ḋarsan bʰékʰ▫ḋʰaaree naanaa hatʰee anékaa.
The six Shastras are diseased, as are the many who follow the different religious orders.

ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਕਰਹਿ ਕਹ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਨਹ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਇਕ ਏਕਾ ॥੬॥
बेद कतेब करहि कह बपुरे नह बूझहि इक एका ॥६॥
Béḋ kaṫéb karahi kah bapuré nah boojʰėh ik ékaa. ||6||
What can the poor Vedas and Bibles do? People do not understand the One and Only Lord. ||6||
|
ਮਿਠ ਰਸੁ ਖਾਇ ਸੁ ਰੋਗਿ ਭਰੀਜੈ ਕੰਦ ਮੂਲਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
मिठ रसु खाइ सु रोगि भरीजै कंद मूलि सुखु नाही ॥
Mitʰ ras kʰaa▫é so rog bʰareejæ kanḋ mool sukʰ naahee.
Eating sweet treats, the mortal is filled with disease; he finds no peace at all.

ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਚਲਹਿ ਅਨ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਹੀ ॥੭॥
नामु विसारि चलहि अन मारगि अंत कालि पछुताही ॥७॥
Naam visaar chalėh an maarag anṫ kaal pachʰuṫaahee. ||7||
Forgetting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, they walk on other paths, and at the very last moment, they regret and repent. ||7||

ਤੀਰਥਿ ਭਰਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਛੂਟਸਿ ਪੜਿਆ ਬਾਦੁ ਬਿਬਾਦੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
तीरथि भरमै रोगु न छूटसि पड़िआ बादु बिबादु भइआ ॥
Ṫiraṫʰ bʰarmæ rog na chʰootas paṛi▫aa baaḋ bibaaḋ bʰa▫i▫aa.
Wandering around at sacred shrines of pilgrimage, the mortal is not cured of his disease. Reading scripture, he gets involved in useless arguments.

ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਸੁ ਅਧਿਕ ਵਡੇਰਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਮੁਹਤਾਜੁ ਭਇਆ ॥੮॥
दुबिधा रोगु सु अधिक वडेरा माइआ का मुहताजु भइआ ॥८॥
Ḋubiḋʰaa rog so aḋʰik vadéraa maa▫i▫aa kaa muhṫaaj bʰa▫i▫aa. ||8||
The disease of duality is so very deadly; it causes dependence on Maya. ||8||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਲਾਹੈ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ॥
गुरमुखि साचा सबदि सलाहै मनि साचा तिसु रोगु गइआ ॥
Gurmukʰ saachaa sabaḋ salaahæ man saachaa ṫis rog ga▫i▫aa.
One who becomes Gurmukh and praises the True Shabad with the True Lord in his mind is cured of his disease.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕਰਮਿ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ਪਇਆ ॥੯॥੧॥
नानक हरि जन अनदिनु निरमल जिन कउ करमि नीसाणु पइआ ॥९॥१॥
Naanak har jan an▫ḋin nirmal jin ka▫o karam neesaaṇ pa▫i▫aa. ||9||1||
O Nanak! The humble servant of the Lord is immaculate, night and day; he bears the insignia of the Lord’s Grace. ||9||1||
