ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
कलि कलेस गुर सबदि निवारे ॥
Kal kalés gur sabaḋ nivaaré.
The Word of the Guru’s Shabad quiets worries and troubles.

ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣ ਰਹੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
आवण जाण रहे सुख सारे ॥१॥
Aavaṇ jaaṇ rahé sukʰ saaré. ||1||
Coming and going ceases, and all comforts are obtained. ||1||
|
ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
भै बिनसे निरभउ हरि धिआइआ ॥
Bʰæ binsé nirbʰa▫o har ḋʰi▫aa▫i▫aa.
Fear is dispelled, meditating on the Fearless Lord.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
साधसंगि हरि के गुण गाइआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saaḋʰsang har ké guṇ gaa▫i▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਚਰਨ ਕਵਲ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
चरन कवल रिद अंतरि धारे ॥
Charan kaval riḋ anṫar ḋʰaaré.
I have enshrined the Lotus Feet of the Lord within my heart.

ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
अगनि सागर गुरि पारि उतारे ॥२॥
Agan saagar gur paar uṫaaré. ||2||
The Guru has carried me across the ocean of fire. ||2||
|
ਬੂਡਤ ਜਾਤ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਢੇ ॥
बूडत जात पूरै गुरि काढे ॥
Boodaṫ jaaṫ pooræ gur kaadʰé.
I was sinking down, and the Perfect Guru pulled me out.

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਟੂਟੇ ਗਾਢੇ ॥੩॥
जनम जनम के टूटे गाढे ॥३॥
Janam janam ké tooté gaadʰé. ||3||
I was cut off from the Lord for countless incarnations, and now the Guru united me with Him again. ||3||
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
कहु नानक तिसु गुर बलिहारी ॥
Kaho Naanak ṫis gur balihaaree.
Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to the Guru;

ਜਿਸੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਗਤਿ ਭਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੫੬॥੧੨੫॥
जिसु भेटत गति भई हमारी ॥४॥५६॥१२५॥
Jis bʰétaṫ gaṫ bʰa▫ee hamaaree. ||4||56||125||
meeting Him, I have been saved. ||4||56||125||

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਰਹੁ ॥
साधसंगि ता की सरनी परहु ॥
Saaḋʰsang ṫaa kee sarnee parahu.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, seek His Sanctuary.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਆਗੈ ਧਰਹੁ ॥੧॥
मनु तनु अपना आगै धरहु ॥१॥
Man ṫan apnaa aagæ ḋʰarahu. ||1||
Place your mind and body in offering before Him. ||1||
|
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੀਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
अमृत नामु पीवहु मेरे भाई ॥
Amriṫ naam peevhu méré bʰaa▫ee.
drink the Ambrosial Nectar of the Name, O my Siblings of Destiny.

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਭ ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सिमरि सिमरि सभ तपति बुझाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Simar simar sabʰ ṫapaṫ bujʰaa▫ee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Meditating, meditating in remembrance of the Lord, the fire of desire is totally quenched. ||1||Pause||
|
ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਹੁ ॥
तजि अभिमानु जनम मरणु निवारहु ॥
Ṫaj abʰimaan janam maraṇ nivaarahu.
Renounce your arrogant pride, and end the cycle of birth and death.
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਹੁ ॥੨॥
हरि के दास के चरण नमसकारहु ॥२॥
Har ké ḋaas ké charaṇ namaskaarahu. ||2||
Bow in humility to the feet of the Lord’s slave. ||2||
|
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥
सासि सासि प्रभु मनहि समाले ॥
Saas saas parabʰ manėh samaalé.
Remember God in your mind, with each and every breath.
|
ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਹੁ ਜੋ ਚਾਲੈ ਨਾਲੇ ॥੩॥
सो धनु संचहु जो चालै नाले ॥३॥
So ḋʰan sanchahu jo chaalæ naalé. ||3||
Gather only that wealth, which shall go with you. ||3||
|
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥
तिसहि परापति जिसु मसतकि भागु ॥
Ṫisėh paraapaṫ jis masṫak bʰaag.
He alone obtains it, upon whose forehead such destiny is written.
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੪॥੫੭॥੧੨੬॥
कहु नानक ता की चरणी लागु ॥४॥५७॥१२६॥
Kaho Naanak ṫaa kee charṇee laag. ||4||57||126||
Says Nanak, fall at the Feet of that Lord. ||4||57||126||

Ga▫oṛee mėhlaa 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਸੂਕੇ ਹਰੇ ਕੀਏ ਖਿਨ ਮਾਹੇ ॥
सूके हरे कीए खिन माहे ॥
Sooké haré kee▫é kʰin maahé.
The dried branches are made green again in an instant.
|
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸੰਚਿ ਜੀਵਾਏ ॥੧॥
अमृत द्रिसटि संचि जीवाए ॥१॥
Amriṫ ḋarisat sanch jeevaa▫é. ||1||
His Ambrosial Glance irrigates and revives them. ||1||
|
ਕਾਟੇ ਕਸਟ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
काटे कसट पूरे गुरदेव ॥
Kaaté kasat pooré gurḋév.
The Perfect Divine Guru has removed my sorrow.
|
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਦੀਨੀ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਸੇਵ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सेवक कउ दीनी अपुनी सेव ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sévak ka▫o ḋeenee apunee sév. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
He blesses His servant with His service. ||1||Pause||
|
ਮਿਟਿ ਗਈ ਚਿੰਤ ਪੁਨੀ ਮਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
मिटि गई चिंत पुनी मन आसा ॥
Mit ga▫ee chinṫ punee man aasaa.
Anxiety is removed, and the desires of the mind are fulfilled,
|
ਕਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਾ ॥੨॥
करी दइआ सतिगुरि गुणतासा ॥२॥
Karee ḋa▫i▫aa saṫgur guṇṫaasaa. ||2||
when the True Guru, the Treasure of Excellence, shows His Kindness. ||2||
|
ਦੁਖ ਨਾਠੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਇ ਸਮਾਏ ॥
दुख नाठे सुख आइ समाए ॥
Ḋukʰ naatʰé sukʰ aa▫é samaa▫é.
Pain is driven far away, and peace comes in its place;
|
ਢੀਲ ਨ ਪਰੀ ਜਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਫੁਰਮਾਏ ॥੩॥
ढील न परी जा गुरि फुरमाए ॥३॥
Dʰeel na paree jaa gur furmaa▫é. ||3||
there is no delay, when the Guru gives the Order. ||3||
|
ਇਛ ਪੁਨੀ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ॥
इछ पुनी पूरे गुर मिले ॥
Ichʰ punee pooré gur milé.
Desires are fulfilled, when one meets the True Guru;
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਸੁਫਲ ਫਲੇ ॥੪॥੫੮॥੧੨੭॥
नानक ते जन सुफल फले ॥४॥५८॥१२७॥
Naanak ṫé jan sufal falé. ||4||58||127||
O Nanak! His humble servant is fruitful and prosperous. ||4||58||127||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
गउड़ी महला ५ ॥
Ga▫oṛee mėhlaa 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
|
ਤਾਪ ਗਏ ਪਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥
ताप गए पाई प्रभि सांति ॥
Ṫaap ga▫é paa▫ee parabʰ saaⁿṫ.
The fever has departed; God has showered us with peace and tranquility.
|
ਸੀਤਲ ਭਏ ਕੀਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੧॥
सीतल भए कीनी प्रभ दाति ॥१॥
Seeṫal bʰa▫é keenee parabʰ ḋaaṫ. ||1||
A cooling peace prevails; God has granted this gift. ||1||
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ॥
प्रभ किरपा ते भए सुहेले ॥
Parabʰ kirpaa ṫé bʰa▫é suhélé.
By God’s Grace, we have become comfortable.

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਬਿਛੁਰੇ ਮੇਲੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जनम जनम के बिछुरे मेले ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Janam janam ké bichʰuré mélé. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Separated from Him for countless incarnations, we are now reunited with Him. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
सिमरत सिमरत प्रभ का नाउ ॥
Simraṫ simraṫ parabʰ kaa naa▫o.
Meditating, meditating in remembrance of God’s Name,
|
ਸਗਲ ਰੋਗ ਕਾ ਬਿਨਸਿਆ ਥਾਉ ॥੨॥
सगल रोग का बिनसिआ थाउ ॥२॥
Sagal rog kaa binsi▫aa ṫʰaa▫o. ||2||
the dwelling of all disease is destroyed. ||2||
|
ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਬੋਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
सहजि सुभाइ बोलै हरि बाणी ॥
Sahj subʰaa▫é bolæ har baṇee.
In intuitive peace and poise, chant the Word of the Lord’s Bani.

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
आठ पहर प्रभ सिमरहु प्राणी ॥३॥
Aatʰ pahar parabʰ simrahu paraaṇee. ||3||
Twenty-four hours a day, O mortal, meditate on God. ||3||
|
ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
दूखु दरदु जमु नेड़ि न आवै ॥
Ḋookʰ ḋaraḋ jam néṛ na aavæ.
Pain, suffering and the Messenger of Death do not even approach that one,
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੫੯॥੧੨੮॥
कहु नानक जो हरि गुन गावै ॥४॥५९॥१२८॥
Kaho Naanak jo har gun gaavæ. ||4||59||128||
says Nanak, who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4||59||128||

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਭਲੇ ਦਿਨਸ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥
भले दिनस भले संजोग ॥
Bʰalé ḋinas bʰalé sanjog.
Auspicious is the day, and auspicious is the chance,
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਿਰਜੋਗ ॥੧॥
जितु भेटे पारब्रहम निरजोग ॥१॥
Jiṫ bʰété paarbarahm nirjog. ||1||
which brought me to the Supreme Lord God, the Unjoined, Unlimited One. ||1||
|
ਓਹ ਬੇਲਾ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
ओह बेला कउ हउ बलि जाउ ॥
Oh bélaa ka▫o ha▫o bal jaa▫o.
I am a sacrifice to that time,
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਜਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जितु मेरा मनु जपै हरि नाउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jiṫ méraa man japæ har naa▫o. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
when my mind chants the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤੁ ਸਫਲ ਓਹ ਘਰੀ ॥
सफल मूरतु सफल ओह घरी ॥
Safal mooraṫ safal oh gʰaree.
Blessed is that moment, and blessed is that time,
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਉਚਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੀ ॥੨॥
जितु रसना उचरै हरि हरी ॥२॥
Jiṫ rasnaa uchræ har haree. ||2||
when my tongue chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Haree. ||2||
|
ਸਫਲੁ ਓਹੁ ਮਾਥਾ ਸੰਤ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਸਿ ॥
सफलु ओहु माथा संत नमसकारसि ॥
Safal oh maaṫʰaa sanṫ namaskaaras.
Blessed is that forehead, which bows in humility to the Saints.
|
ਚਰਣ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਚਲਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ॥੩॥
चरण पुनीत चलहि हरि मारगि ॥३॥
Charaṇ puneeṫ chalėh har maarag. ||3||
Sacred are those feet, which walk on the Lord’s Path. ||3||
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਲਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਰਮ ॥
कहु नानक भला मेरा करम ॥
Kaho Naanak bʰalaa méraa karam.
Says Nanak, auspicious is my karma,
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ॥੪॥੬੦॥੧੨੯॥
जितु भेटे साधू के चरन ॥४॥६०॥१२९॥
Jiṫ bʰété saaḋʰoo ké charan. ||4||60||129||
which has led me to touch the Feet of the Holy. ||4||60||129||
