ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
गुर का सबदु राखु मन माहि ॥
Gur kaa sabaḋ raakʰ man maahi.
Keep the Word of the Guru’s Shabad in your mind.

ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਸਭ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
नामु सिमरि चिंता सभ जाहि ॥१॥
Naam simar chinṫaa sabʰ jaahi. ||1||
Meditating in remembrance of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, all anxiety is removed. ||1||
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
बिनु भगवंत नाही अन कोइ ॥
Bin bʰagvanṫ naahee an ko▫é.
Without the Lord God, there is no one else at all.
|
ਮਾਰੈ ਰਾਖੈ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मारै राखै एको सोइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Maaræ raakʰæ éko so▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
He alone preserves and destroys. ||1||Pause||
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਰਿਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
गुर के चरण रिदै उरि धारि ॥
Gur ké charaṇ riḋæ ur ḋʰaar.
Enshrine the Guru’s Feet in your heart.

ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਜਪਿ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
अगनि सागरु जपि उतरहि पारि ॥२॥
Agan saagar jap uṫrėh paar. ||2||
Meditate on Him and cross over the ocean of fire. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਇ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
गुर मूरति सिउ लाइ धिआनु ॥
Gur mooraṫ si▫o laa▫é ḋʰi▫aan.
Focus your meditation on the Guru’s Sublime Form.

ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
ईहा ऊहा पावहि मानु ॥३॥
Eehaa oohaa paavahi maan. ||3||
Here and hereafter, you shall be honored. ||3||
|
ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
सगल तिआगि गुर सरणी आइआ ॥
Sagal ṫi▫aag gur sarṇee aa▫i▫aa.
Renouncing everything, I have come to the Guru’s Sanctuary.

ਮਿਟੇ ਅੰਦੇਸੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੬੧॥੧੩੦॥
मिटे अंदेसे नानक सुखु पाइआ ॥४॥६१॥१३०॥
Mité anḋésé Naanak sukʰ paa▫i▫aa. ||4||61||130||
My anxieties are over - O Nanak! I have found peace. ||4||61||130||

ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੂਖੁ ਸਭੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
जिसु सिमरत दूखु सभु जाइ ॥
Jis simraṫ ḋookʰ sabʰ jaa▫é.
Remembering Him in meditation, all pains are gone.

ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥
नामु रतनु वसै मनि आइ ॥१॥
Naam raṫan vasæ man aa▫é. ||1||
The jewel of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, comes to dwell in the mind. ||1||
|
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
जपि मन मेरे गोविंद की बाणी ॥
Jap man méré govinḋ kee baṇee.
O my mind! Chant the Bani, the Hymns of the Lord of the Universe.

ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਸਨ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
साधू जन रामु रसन वखाणी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saaḋʰoo jan raam rasan vakʰaaṇee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
The Holy People chant the Lord’s Name with their tongues. ||1||Pause||
|
ਇਕਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਇ ॥
इकसु बिनु नाही दूजा कोइ ॥
Ikas bin naahee ḋoojaa ko▫é.
Without the One Lord, there is no other at all.
|
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
जा की द्रिसटि सदा सुखु होइ ॥२॥
Jaa kee ḋarisat saḋaa sukʰ ho▫é. ||2||
By His Glance of Grace, eternal peace is obtained. ||2||
|
ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੀਤੁ ਸਖਾ ਕਰਿ ਏਕੁ ॥
साजनु मीतु सखा करि एकु ॥
Saajan meeṫ sakʰaa kar ék.
Make the One Lord your friend, intimate and companion.
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਖਰ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਲੇਖੁ ॥੩॥
हरि हरि अखर मन महि लेखु ॥३॥
Har har akʰar man mėh lékʰ. ||3||
Write in your mind the Word of the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
|
ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
रवि रहिआ सरबत सुआमी ॥
Rav rahi▫aa sarbaṫ su▫aamee.
The Lord Master is totally pervading everywhere.
|
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੬੨॥੧੩੧॥
गुण गावै नानकु अंतरजामी ॥४॥६२॥१३१॥
Guṇ gaavæ Naanak anṫarjaamee. ||4||62||131||
Nanak sings the Praises of the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||62||131||

ਭੈ ਮਹਿ ਰਚਿਓ ਸਭੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
भै महि रचिओ सभु संसारा ॥
Bʰæ mėh rachi▫o sabʰ sansaaraa.
The whole world is engrossed in fear.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਭਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
तिसु भउ नाही जिसु नामु अधारा ॥१॥
Ṫis bʰa▫o naahee jis naam aḋʰaaraa. ||1||
Those who have the Naam, the Name of the Lord, as their Support, feel no fear. ||1||
|
ਭਉ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾ ॥
भउ न विआपै तेरी सरणा ॥
Bʰa▫o na vi▫aapæ ṫéree sarṇaa.
Fear does not affect those who take to Your Sanctuary.
|
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जो तुधु भावै सोई करणा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jo ṫuḋʰ bʰaavæ so▫ee karṇaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
You do whatever You please. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸੋਗ ਹਰਖ ਮਹਿ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ॥
सोग हरख महि आवण जाणा ॥
Sog harakʰ mėh aavaṇ jaaṇaa.
In pleasure and in pain, the world is coming and going in reincarnation.
|
ਤਿਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਣਾ ॥੨॥
तिनि सुखु पाइआ जो प्रभ भाणा ॥२॥
Ṫin sukʰ paa▫i▫aa jo parabʰ bʰaaṇaa. ||2||
Those who are pleasing to God, find peace. ||2||
|
ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਮਹਾ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
अगनि सागरु महा विआपै माइआ ॥
Agan saagar mahaa vi▫aapæ maa▫i▫aa.
Maya pervades the awesome ocean of fire.

ਸੇ ਸੀਤਲ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
से सीतल जिन सतिगुरु पाइआ ॥३॥
Sé seeṫal jin saṫgur paa▫i▫aa. ||3||
Those who have found the True Guru are calm and cool. ||3||
|
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
राखि लेइ प्रभु राखनहारा ॥
Raakʰ lé▫é parabʰ raakʰanhaaraa.
Please preserve me, O God, O Great Preserver!

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਆ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੬੩॥੧੩੨॥
कहु नानक किआ जंत विचारा ॥४॥६३॥१३२॥
Kaho Naanak ki▫aa janṫ vichaaraa. ||4||63||132||
Says Nanak, what a helpless creature I am! ||4||63||132||

ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਉ ॥
तुमरी क्रिपा ते जपीऐ नाउ ॥
Ṫumree kirpaa ṫé japee▫æ naa▫o.
By Your Grace, I chant Your Name.

ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਦਰਗਹ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥
तुमरी क्रिपा ते दरगह थाउ ॥१॥
Ṫumree kirpaa ṫé ḋargėh ṫʰaa▫o. ||1||
By Your Grace, I obtain a seat in Your Court. ||1||
|
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
तुझ बिनु पारब्रहम नही कोइ ॥
Ṫujʰ bin paarbarahm nahee ko▫é.
Without You, O Supreme Lord God, there is no one.
|
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तुमरी क्रिपा ते सदा सुखु होइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ṫumree kirpaa ṫé saḋaa sukʰ ho▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
By Your Grace, everlasting peace is obtained. ||1||Pause||

ਤੁਮ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੇ ਤਉ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
तुम मनि वसे तउ दूखु न लागै ॥
Ṫum man vasé ṫa▫o ḋookʰ na laagæ.
If You abide in the mind, we do not suffer in sorrow.
|
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗੈ ॥੨॥
तुमरी क्रिपा ते भ्रमु भउ भागै ॥२॥
Ṫumree kirpaa ṫé bʰaram bʰa▫o bʰaagæ. ||2||
By Your Grace, doubt and fear run away. ||2||
|
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
पारब्रहम अपर्मपर सुआमी ॥
Paarbarahm aprampar su▫aamee.
O Supreme Lord God, Infinite Lord and Master,
|
ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੩॥
सगल घटा के अंतरजामी ॥३॥
Sagal gʰataa ké anṫarjaamee. ||3||
You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all hearts. ||3||
|
ਕਰਉ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
करउ अरदासि अपने सतिगुर पासि ॥
Kara▫o arḋaas apné saṫgur paas.
I offer this prayer to the True Guru:

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੬੪॥੧੩੩॥
नानक नामु मिलै सचु रासि ॥४॥६४॥१३३॥
Naanak naam milæ sach raas. ||4||64||133||
O Nanak! May I be blessed with the treasure of the True Name. ||4||64||133||

ਕਣ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੈਸੇ ਥੋਥਰ ਤੁਖਾ ॥
कण बिना जैसे थोथर तुखा ॥
Kaṇ binaa jæsé ṫʰoṫʰar ṫukʰaa.
As the husk is empty without the grain,
|
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਸੂਨੇ ਸੇ ਮੁਖਾ ॥੧॥
नाम बिहून सूने से मुखा ॥१॥
Naam bihoon sooné sé mukʰaa. ||1||
So is the mouth empty without the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥
हरि हरि नामु जपहु नित प्राणी ॥
Har har naam japahu niṫ paraaṇee.
O mortal, chant continually the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
|
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਦੇਹ ਬਿਗਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
नाम बिहून ध्रिगु देह बिगानी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Naam bihoon ḋʰarig ḋéh bigaanee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Without the Naam, cursed is the body, which shall be taken back by Death. ||1||Pause||
|
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥
नाम बिना नाही मुखि भागु ॥
Naam binaa naahee mukʰ bʰaag.
Without the Naam, no one’s face shows good fortune.
|
ਭਰਤ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਕਹਾ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ॥੨॥
भरत बिहून कहा सोहागु ॥२॥
Bʰaraṫ bihoon kahaa sohaag. ||2||
Without the Husband, where is the marriage? ||2||
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗੈ ਅਨ ਸੁਆਇ ॥
नामु बिसारि लगै अन सुआइ ॥
Naam bisaar lagæ an su▫aa▫é.
Forgetting the Naam, and attached to other tastes,
|
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਪੂਜੈ ਕਾਇ ॥੩॥
ता की आस न पूजै काइ ॥३॥
Ṫaa kee aas na poojæ kaa▫é. ||3||
no desires are fulfilled. ||3||
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥
करि किरपा प्रभ अपनी दाति ॥
Kar kirpaa parabʰ apnee ḋaaṫ.
O God, grant Your Grace, and give me this gift.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥੪॥੬੫॥੧੩੪॥
नानक नामु जपै दिन राति ॥४॥६५॥१३४॥
Naanak naam japæ ḋin raaṫ. ||4||65||134||
Please, let Nanak chant Your Name, day and night. ||4||65||134||
