ਅਉਖਧ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਤੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਛਾਰੁ ॥
अउखध मंत्र तंत सभि छारु ॥
A▫ukʰaḋʰ manṫar ṫanṫ sabʰ chʰaar.
All medicines and remedies, mantras and tantras are nothing more than ashes.

ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਧਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
करणैहारु रिदे महि धारु ॥३॥
Karṇæhaar riḋé mėh ḋʰaar. ||3||
Enshrine the Creator Lord within your heart. ||3||
|
ਤਜਿ ਸਭਿ ਭਰਮ ਭਜਿਓ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ॥
तजि सभि भरम भजिओ पारब्रहमु ॥
Ṫaj sabʰ bʰaram bʰaji▫o paarbarahm.
Renounce all your doubts, and vibrate upon the Supreme Lord God.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਟਲ ਇਹੁ ਧਰਮੁ ॥੪॥੮੦॥੧੪੯॥
कहु नानक अटल इहु धरमु ॥४॥८०॥१४९॥
Kaho Naanak atal ih ḋʰaram. ||4||80||149||
Says Nanak, this path of Dharma is eternal and unchanging. ||4||80||149||

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਸੋਈ ॥
करि किरपा भेटे गुर सोई ॥
Kar kirpaa bʰété gur so▫ee.
The Lord bestowed His Mercy, and led me to meet the Guru.
|
ਤਿਤੁ ਬਲਿ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥
तितु बलि रोगु न बिआपै कोई ॥१॥
Ṫiṫ bal rog na bi▫aapæ ko▫ee. ||1||
By His power, no disease afflicts me. ||1||
|
ਰਾਮ ਰਮਣ ਤਰਣ ਭੈ ਸਾਗਰ ॥
राम रमण तरण भै सागर ॥
Raam ramaṇ ṫaraṇ bʰæ saagar.
Remembering the Lord, I cross over the terrifying world-ocean.
|
ਸਰਣਿ ਸੂਰ ਫਾਰੇ ਜਮ ਕਾਗਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सरणि सूर फारे जम कागर ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saraṇ soor faaré jam kaagar. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
In the Sanctuary of the spiritual warrior, the account books of the Messenger of Death are torn up. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦੀਓ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥
सतिगुरि मंत्रु दीओ हरि नाम ॥
Saṫgur manṫar ḋee▫o har naam.
The True Guru has given me the Mantra of the Lord’s Name.

ਇਹ ਆਸਰ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਏ ਕਾਮ ॥੨॥
इह आसर पूरन भए काम ॥२॥
Ih aasar pooran bʰa▫é kaam. ||2||
With this Support, my affairs have been resolved. ||2||
|
ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਪੂਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
जप तप संजम पूरी वडिआई ॥
Jap ṫap sanjam pooree vadi▫aa▫ee.
Meditation, self-discipline, self-control and perfect greatness,
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਹਰਿ ਭਏ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੩॥
गुर किरपाल हरि भए सहाई ॥३॥
Gur kirpaal har bʰa▫é sahaa▫ee. ||3||
were obtained when the Merciful Lord, the Guru, became my Help and Support. ||3||
|
ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਖੋਏ ਗੁਰਿ ਭਰਮ ॥
मान मोह खोए गुरि भरम ॥
Maan moh kʰo▫é gur bʰaram.
The Guru has dispelled pride, emotional attachment and superstition.
|
ਪੇਖੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਸਰੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ॥੪॥੮੧॥੧੫੦॥
पेखु नानक पसरे पारब्रहम ॥४॥८१॥१५०॥
Pékʰ Naanak pasré paarbarahm. ||4||81||150||
Nanak sees the Supreme Lord God pervading everywhere. ||4||81||150||

ਬਿਖੈ ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਅੰਧੁਲਾ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
बिखै राज ते अंधुला भारी ॥
Bikʰæ raaj ṫé anḋʰulaa bʰaaree.
The blind beggar is better off than the vicious king.
|
ਦੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
दुखि लागै राम नामु चितारी ॥१॥
Ḋukʰ laagæ raam naam chiṫaaree. ||1||
Overcome by pain, the blind man invokes the Lord’s Name. ||1||
|
ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਤੁਹੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
तेरे दास कउ तुही वडिआई ॥
Ṫéré ḋaas ka▫o ṫuhee vadi▫aa▫ee.
You are the glorious greatness of Your slave.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮਗਨੁ ਨਰਕਿ ਲੈ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
माइआ मगनु नरकि लै जाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Maa▫i▫aa magan narak læ jaa▫ee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
The intoxication of Maya leads the others to hell. ||1||Pause||
|
ਰੋਗ ਗਿਰਸਤ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ਨਾਉ ॥
रोग गिरसत चितारे नाउ ॥
Rog girsaṫ chiṫaaré naa▫o.
Gripped by disease, they invoke the Name.
|
ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਤੇ ਕਾ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਉ ॥੨॥
बिखु माते का ठउर न ठाउ ॥२॥
Bikʰ maaṫé kaa tʰa▫ur na tʰaa▫o. ||2||
But those who are intoxicated with vice shall find no home, no place of rest. ||2||
|
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
चरन कमल सिउ लागी प्रीति ॥
Charan kamal si▫o laagee pareeṫ.
One who is in love with the Lord’s Lotus Feet,
|
ਆਨ ਸੁਖਾ ਨਹੀ ਆਵਹਿ ਚੀਤਿ ॥੩॥
आन सुखा नही आवहि चीति ॥३॥
Aan sukʰaa nahee aavahi cheeṫ. ||3||
does not think of any other comforts. ||3||
|
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
सदा सदा सिमरउ प्रभ सुआमी ॥
Saḋaa saḋaa simra▫o parabʰ su▫aamee.
Forever and ever, meditate on God, your Lord and Master.

ਮਿਲੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੮੨॥੧੫੧॥
मिलु नानक हरि अंतरजामी ॥४॥८२॥१५१॥
Mil Naanak har anṫarjaamee. ||4||82||151||
O Nanak! Meet with the Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||82||151||

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਸੰਗੀ ਬਟਵਾਰੇ ॥
आठ पहर संगी बटवारे ॥
Aatʰ pahar sangee batvaaré.
Twenty-four hours a day, the highway robbers are my companions.
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਲਏ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
करि किरपा प्रभि लए निवारे ॥१॥
Kar kirpaa parabʰ la▫é nivaaré. ||1||
Granting His Grace, God has driven them away. ||1||
|
ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਰਮਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
ऐसा हरि रसु रमहु सभु कोइ ॥
Æsaa har ras ramhu sabʰ ko▫é.
Everyone should dwell on the Sweet Name of such a Lord.

ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सरब कला पूरन प्रभु सोइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sarab kalaa pooran parabʰ so▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
God is overflowing with all power. ||1||Pause||
|
ਮਹਾ ਤਪਤਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥
महा तपति सागर संसार ॥
Mahaa ṫapaṫ saagar sansaar.
The world-ocean is burning hot!
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਣਹਾਰ ॥੨॥
प्रभ खिन महि पारि उतारणहार ॥२॥
Parabʰ kʰin mėh paar uṫaaraṇhaar. ||2||
In an instant, God saves us, and carries us across. ||2||
|
ਅਨਿਕ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
अनिक बंधन तोरे नही जाहि ॥
Anik banḋʰan ṫoré nahee jaahi.
There are so many bonds, they cannot be broken.
|
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਫਲ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
सिमरत नाम मुकति फल पाहि ॥३॥
Simraṫ naam mukaṫ fal paahi. ||3||
Remembering the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the fruit of liberation is obtained. ||3||
|
ਉਕਤਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਇਸ ਤੇ ਕਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
उकति सिआनप इस ते कछु नाहि ॥
Ukaṫ si▫aanap is ṫé kachʰ naahi.
By clever devices, nothing is accomplished.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਿ ॥੪॥੮੩॥੧੫੨॥
करि किरपा नानक गुण गाहि ॥४॥८३॥१५२॥
Kar kirpaa Naanak guṇ gaahi. ||4||83||152||
Grant Your Grace to Nanak! That he may sing the Glories of God. ||4||83||152||

Those who obtain the wealth of the Lord’s Name
|
ਬਿਚਰੁ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥
बिचरु संसार पूरन सभि काम ॥१॥
Bichar sansaar pooran sabʰ kaam. ||1||
move freely in the world; all their affairs are resolved. ||1||
|
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
वडभागी हरि कीरतनु गाईऐ ॥
vadbʰaagee har keerṫan gaa▫ee▫æ.
By great good fortune, the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises are sung.
|
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਤ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
पारब्रहम तूं देहि त पाईऐ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Paarbarahm ṫooⁿ ḋėh ṫa paa▫ee▫æ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
O Supreme Lord God, as You give, so do I receive. ||1||Pause||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
हरि के चरण हिरदै उरि धारि ॥
Har ké charaṇ hirḋæ ur ḋʰaar.
Enshrine the Lord’s Feet within your heart.
|
ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਚੜਿ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
भव सागरु चड़ि उतरहि पारि ॥२॥
Bʰav saagar chaṛ uṫrėh paar. ||2||
Get aboard this boat, and cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||
|
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
साधू संगु करहु सभु कोइ ॥
Saaḋʰoo sang karahu sabʰ ko▫é.
Everyone who joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy,
|
ਸਦਾ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
सदा कलिआण फिरि दूखु न होइ ॥३॥
Saḋaa kali▫aaṇ fir ḋookʰ na ho▫é. ||3||
obtains eternal peace; pain does not afflict them any longer. ||3||
|
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਜੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
प्रेम भगति भजु गुणी निधानु ॥
Parém bʰagaṫ bʰaj guṇee niḋʰaan.
With loving devotional worship, meditate on the treasure of excellence.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੮੪॥੧੫੩॥
नानक दरगह पाईऐ मानु ॥४॥८४॥१५३॥
Naanak ḋargėh paa▫ee▫æ maan. ||4||84||153||
O Nanak! You shall be honored in the Court of the Lord. ||4||84||153||

ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਮੀਤ ॥
जलि थलि महीअलि पूरन हरि मीत ॥
Jal ṫʰal mahee▫al pooran har meeṫ.
The Lord, our Friend, is totally pervading the water, the land and the skies.
|
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਣ ਨੀਤ ॥੧॥
भ्रम बिनसे गाए गुण नीत ॥१॥
Bʰaram binsé gaa▫é guṇ neeṫ. ||1||
Doubts are dispelled by continually singing the Lord’s Glorious Praises. ||1||
|
ਊਠਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਹਰੂਆ ॥
ऊठत सोवत हरि संगि पहरूआ ॥
Ootʰaṫ sovaṫ har sang pahroo▫aa.
While rising up, and while lying down in sleep, the Lord is always with you, watching over you.
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ ਜਮ ਨਹੀ ਡਰੂਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जा कै सिमरणि जम नही डरूआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jaa kæ simraṇ jam nahee daroo▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Remembering Him in meditation, the fear of Death departs. ||1||Pause||
|
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਿਦੈ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
चरण कमल प्रभ रिदै निवासु ॥
Charaṇ kamal parabʰ riḋæ nivaas.
With God’s Lotus Feet abiding in the heart,
