ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲਖਿਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਪੜਦਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਾਈ ॥
अंतरि अलखु न जाई लखिआ विचि पड़दा हउमै पाई ॥
Anṫar alakʰ na jaa▫ee lakʰi▫aa vich paṛ▫ḋaa ha▫umæ paa▫ee.
The Unseen Lord is deep within the self; He cannot be seen; the curtain of egotism intervenes.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਭੋ ਜਗੁ ਸੋਇਆ ਇਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਿਉ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
माइआ मोहि सभो जगु सोइआ इहु भरमु कहहु किउ जाई ॥१॥
Maa▫i▫aa mohi sabʰo jag so▫i▫aa ih bʰaram kahhu ki▫o jaa▫ee. ||1||
In emotional attachment to Maya, all the world is asleep. Tell me, how can this doubt be dispelled? ||1||
|
ਏਕਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਇਕਤੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਬਸਤੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
एका संगति इकतु ग्रिहि बसते मिलि बात न करते भाई ॥
Ékaa sangaṫ ikaṫ garihi basṫé mil baaṫ na karṫé bʰaa▫ee.
The one lives together with the other in the same house, but they do not talk to one another, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਏਕ ਬਸਤੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਪੰਚ ਦੁਹੇਲੇ ਓਹ ਬਸਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਠਾਈ ॥੨॥
एक बसतु बिनु पंच दुहेले ओह बसतु अगोचर ठाई ॥२॥
Ék basaṫ bin panch ḋuhélé oh basaṫ agochar tʰaa▫ee. ||2||
Without one substance, the five are miserable; that substance is in the unapproachable place. ||2||
|
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਤਾਲਾ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਉਪਾਈ ॥
जिस का ग्रिहु तिनि दीआ ताला कुंजी गुर सउपाई ॥
Jis kaa garihu ṫin ḋee▫aa ṫaalaa kunjee gur sa▫upaa▫ee.
And the one whose home it is, has locked it up, and given the key to the Guru.

ਅਨਿਕ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੩॥
अनिक उपाव करे नही पावै बिनु सतिगुर सरणाई ॥३॥
Anik upaav karé nahee paavæ bin saṫgur sarṇaa▫ee. ||3||
You may make all sorts of efforts, but it cannot be obtained, without the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||3||
|
ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
जिन के बंधन काटे सतिगुर तिन साधसंगति लिव लाई ॥
Jin ké banḋʰan kaaté saṫgur ṫin saaḋʰsangaṫ liv laa▫ee.
Those whose bonds have been broken by the True Guru, enshrine love for the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਪੰਚ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥੪॥
पंच जना मिलि मंगलु गाइआ हरि नानक भेदु न भाई ॥४॥
Panch janaa mil mangal gaa▫i▫aa har Naanak bʰéḋ na bʰaa▫ee. ||4||
The self-elect, the self-realized beings, meet together and sing the joyous songs of the Lord. Nanak, there is no difference between them, O Siblings of Destiny. ||4||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥
मेरे राम राइ इन बिधि मिलै गुसाई ॥
Méré raam raa▫é in biḋʰ milæ gusaa▫ee.
This is how my Sovereign Lord King, the Lord of the Universe, is met;

ਸਹਜੁ ਭਇਆ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਠਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੧੨੨॥
सहजु भइआ भ्रमु खिन महि नाठा मिलि जोती जोति समाई ॥१॥ रहाउ दूजा ॥१॥१२२॥
Sahj bʰa▫i▫aa bʰaram kʰin mėh naatʰaa mil joṫee joṫ samaa▫ee. ||1|| rahaa▫o ḋoojaa. ||1||122||
celestial bliss is attained in an instant, and doubt is dispelled. Meeting Him, my light merges in the Light. ||1||Second. Pause||1||122||

गउड़ी महला ५ ॥
Ga▫oṛee mėhlaa 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਐਸੋ ਪਰਚਉ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
ऐसो परचउ पाइओ ॥
Æso parcha▫o paa▫i▫o.
I am intimate with Him;
|
ਕਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦਇਆਲ ਬੀਠੁਲੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੁਝਹਿ ਬਤਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
करी क्रिपा दइआल बीठुलै सतिगुर मुझहि बताइओ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Karee kirpaa ḋa▫i▫aal beetʰulé saṫgur mujʰėh baṫaa▫i▫o. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
granting His Grace, my Kind Beloved has told me of the True Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਜਤ ਕਤ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਤਤ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਸੁਆਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਆਇਓ ॥
जत कत देखउ तत तत तुम ही मोहि इहु बिसुआसु होइ आइओ ॥
Jaṫ kaṫ ḋékʰ▫a▫u ṫaṫ ṫaṫ ṫum hee mohi ih bisu▫aas ho▫é aa▫i▫o.
Wherever I look, there You are; I am totally convinced of this.

ਕੈ ਪਹਿ ਕਰਉ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਜਉ ਸੁਨਤੋ ਹੈ ਰਘੁਰਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
कै पहि करउ अरदासि बेनती जउ सुनतो है रघुराइओ ॥१॥
Kæ pėh kara▫o arḋaas bénṫee ja▫o sunṫo hæ ragʰuraa▫i▫o. ||1||
Unto whom should I pray? The Lord Himself hears all. ||1||
|
ਲਹਿਓ ਸਹਸਾ ਬੰਧਨ ਗੁਰਿ ਤੋਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
लहिओ सहसा बंधन गुरि तोरे तां सदा सहज सुखु पाइओ ॥
Lahi▫o sahsaa banḋʰan gur ṫoré ṫaaⁿ saḋaa sahj sukʰ paa▫i▫o.
My anxiety is over. The Guru has cut away my bonds, and I have found eternal peace.

ਹੋਣਾ ਸਾ ਸੋਈ ਫੁਨਿ ਹੋਸੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਹਾ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ॥੨॥
होणा सा सोई फुनि होसी सुखु दुखु कहा दिखाइओ ॥२॥
Hoṇaa saa so▫ee fun hosee sukʰ ḋukʰ kahaa ḋikʰaa▫i▫o. ||2||
Whatever shall be, shall be in the end; so where can pain and pleasure be seen? ||2||
|
ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਕਾ ਏਕੋ ਠਾਣਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਰਦਾ ਖੋਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ॥
खंड ब्रहमंड का एको ठाणा गुरि परदा खोलि दिखाइओ ॥
Kʰand barahmand kaa éko tʰaaṇaa gur parḋaa kʰol ḋikʰaa▫i▫o.
The continents and the solar systems rest in the support of the One Lord. The Guru has removed the veil of illusion, and shown this to me.

ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਇਕ ਠਾਈ ਤਉ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕੈਠੈ ਜਾਇਓ ॥੩॥
नउ निधि नामु निधानु इक ठाई तउ बाहरि कैठै जाइओ ॥३॥
Na▫o niḋʰ naam niḋʰaan ik tʰaa▫ee ṫa▫o baahar kætʰæ jaa▫i▫o. ||3||
The nine treasures of the wealth of the Name of the Lord are in that one place. Where else should we go? ||3||
|
ਏਕੈ ਕਨਿਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਤਿ ਸਾਜੀ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਕਾਰ ਰਚਾਇਓ ॥
एकै कनिक अनिक भाति साजी बहु परकार रचाइओ ॥
Ékæ kanik anik bʰaaṫ saajee baho parkaar rachaa▫i▫o.
The same gold is fashioned into various articles; just so, the Lord has made the many patterns of the creation.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਰਮੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਈ ਹੈ ਇਵ ਤਤੈ ਤਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਓ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੨੩॥
कहु नानक भरमु गुरि खोई है इव ततै ततु मिलाइओ ॥४॥२॥१२३॥
Kaho Naanak bʰaram gur kʰo▫ee hæ iv ṫaṫæ ṫaṫ milaa▫i▫o. ||4||2||123||
Says Nanak, the Guru has dispelled my doubt; in this way, my essence merges into God’s essence. ||4||2||123||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
गउड़ी₂ महला ५ ॥
Ga▫oṛee mėhlaa 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਅਉਧ ਘਟੈ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਾਰੇ ॥
अउध घटै दिनसु रैनारे ॥
A▫oḋʰ gʰatæ ḋinas rænaaré.
This life is diminishing, day and night.
|
ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मन गुर मिलि काज सवारे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Man gur mil kaaj savaaré. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Meeting with the Guru, your affairs shall be resolved. ||1||Pause||
|
ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ਸੰਤ ਟਹਲ ਕੀ ਬੇਲਾ ॥
करउ बेनंती सुनहु मेरे मीता संत टहल की बेला ॥
Kara▫o bénanṫee sunhu méré meeṫaa sanṫ tahal kee bélaa.
Listen, my friends, I beg of you: now is the time to serve the Saints!

ਈਹਾ ਖਾਟਿ ਚਲਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਆਗੈ ਬਸਨੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥੧॥
ईहा खाटि चलहु हरि लाहा आगै बसनु सुहेला ॥१॥
Eehaa kʰaat chalhu har laahaa aagæ basan suhélaa. ||1||
In this world, earn the profit of the Lord’s Name, and hereafter, you shall dwell in peace. ||1||
|
ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਬਿਕਾਰੁ ਸਹਸੇ ਮਹਿ ਤਰਿਓ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥
इहु संसारु बिकारु सहसे महि तरिओ ब्रहम गिआनी ॥
Ih sansaar bikaar sahsé mėh ṫari▫o barahm gi▫aanee.
This world is engrossed in corruption and cynicism. Only those who know God are saved.

ਜਿਸਹਿ ਜਗਾਇ ਪੀਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
जिसहि जगाइ पीआए हरि रसु अकथ कथा तिनि जानी ॥२॥
Jisahi jagaa▫é pee▫aa▫é har ras akaṫʰ kaṫʰaa ṫin jaanee. ||2||
Those who are awakened by the Lord to drink this sublime essence, come to know the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. ||2||
|
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਆਏ ਸੋਈ ਵਿਹਾਝਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਨਹਿ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥
जा कउ आए सोई विहाझहु हरि गुर ते मनहि बसेरा ॥
Jaa ka▫o aa▫é so▫ee vihaajʰahu har gur ṫé manėh baséraa.
Purchase only that for which you have come into the world, and through the Guru, the Lord shall dwell within your mind.

ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜੇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਇਗੋ ਫੇਰਾ ॥੩॥
निज घरि महलु पावहु सुख सहजे बहुरि न होइगो फेरा ॥३॥
Nij gʰar mahal paavhu sukʰ sėhjé bahur na ho▫igo féraa. ||3||
Within the home of your own inner being, you shall obtain the Mansion of the Lord’s Presence with intuitive ease. You shall not be consigned again to the wheel of reincarnation. ||3||
|
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਸਰਧਾ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
अंतरजामी पुरख बिधाते सरधा मन की पूरे ॥
Anṫarjaamee purakʰ biḋʰaaṫé sarḋʰaa man kee pooré.
O Inner-knower, Searcher of hearts, Primal Being, Architect of Destiny: please fulfill this yearning of my mind.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਇਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰੇ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੨੪॥
नानकु दासु इही सुखु मागै मो कउ करि संतन की धूरे ॥४॥३॥१२४॥
Naanak ḋaas ihee sukʰ maagæ mo ka▫o kar sanṫan kee ḋʰooré. ||4||3||124||
Nanak, Your slave, begs for this happiness: let me be the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||4||3||124||

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਰਾਖੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
राखु पिता प्रभ मेरे ॥
Raakʰ piṫaa parabʰ méré.
Save me, O My Father God.
|
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨੁ ਸਭ ਗੁਨ ਤੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मोहि निरगुनु सभ गुन तेरे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mohi nirgun sabʰ gun ṫéré. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
I am worthless and without virtue; all virtues are Yours. ||1||Pause||
|
ਪੰਚ ਬਿਖਾਦੀ ਏਕੁ ਗਰੀਬਾ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
पंच बिखादी एकु गरीबा राखहु राखनहारे ॥
Panch bikʰaaḋee ék gareebaa raakʰo raakʰanhaaré.
The five vicious thieves are assaulting my poor being; save me, O Savior Lord!

ਖੇਦੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਰੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸੰਤਾਵਹਿ ਆਇਓ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
खेदु करहि अरु बहुतु संतावहि आइओ सरनि तुहारे ॥१॥
Kʰéḋ karahi ar bahuṫ sanṫaavėh aa▫i▫o saran ṫuhaaré. ||1||
They are tormenting and torturing me. I have come, seeking Your Sanctuary. ||1||
