ਕੋਈ ਜਿ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਲੋਭੀਆ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਸੁਣੀ ਕਹਿਆ ॥੨॥
कोई जि मूरखु लोभीआ मूलि न सुणी कहिआ ॥२॥
Ko▫ee jė moorakʰ lobʰee▫aa mool na suṇee kahi▫aa. ||2||
But he is foolish and greedy, and he never listens to what he is told. ||2||

ਇਕਸੁ ਦੁਹੁ ਚਹੁ ਕਿਆ ਗਣੀ ਸਭ ਇਕਤੁ ਸਾਦਿ ਮੁਠੀ ॥
इकसु दुहु चहु किआ गणी सभ इकतु सादि मुठी ॥
Ikas ḋuhu chahu ki▫aa gaṇee sabʰ ikaṫ saaḋ mutʰee.
Why bother to count one, two, three, four? The whole world is defrauded by the same enticements.

ਇਕੁ ਅਧੁ ਨਾਇ ਰਸੀਅੜਾ ਕਾ ਵਿਰਲੀ ਜਾਇ ਵੁਠੀ ॥੩॥
इकु अधु नाइ रसीअड़ा का विरली जाइ वुठी ॥३॥
Ik aḋʰ naa▫é rasee▫aṛaa kaa virlee jaa▫é vutʰee. ||3||
Hardly anyone loves the Lord’s Name; how rare is that place which is in bloom. ||3||

ਭਗਤ ਸਚੇ ਦਰਿ ਸੋਹਦੇ ਅਨਦ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
भगत सचे दरि सोहदे अनद करहि दिन राति ॥
Bʰagaṫ saché ḋar sohḋé anaḋ karahi ḋin raaṫ.
The devotees look beautiful in the True Court; night and day, they are happy.

ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਤ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੬੯॥
रंगि रते परमेसरै जन नानक तिन बलि जात ॥४॥१॥१६९॥
Rang raṫé parmésræ jan Naanak ṫin bal jaaṫ. ||4||1||169||
They are imbued with the Love of the Transcendent Lord; servant Nanak is a sacrifice to them. ||4||1||169||

ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜੀ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
दुख भंजनु तेरा नामु जी दुख भंजनु तेरा नामु ॥
Ḋukʰ bʰanjan ṫéraa naam jee ḋukʰ bʰanjan ṫéraa naam.
The Destroyer of sorrow is Your Name, Lord; the Destroyer of sorrow is Your Name.

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
आठ पहर आराधीऐ पूरन सतिगुर गिआनु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Aatʰ pahar aaraaḋʰee▫æ pooran saṫgur gi▫aan. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Twenty-four hours a day, dwell upon the wisdom of the Perfect True Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਤੁ ਘਟਿ ਵਸੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਥਾਉ ॥
जितु घटि वसै पारब्रहमु सोई सुहावा थाउ ॥
Jiṫ gʰat vasæ paarbarahm so▫ee suhaavaa ṫʰaa▫o.
That heart, in which the Supreme Lord God abides, is the most beautiful place.

ਜਮ ਕੰਕਰੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥
जम कंकरु नेड़ि न आवई रसना हरि गुण गाउ ॥१॥
Jam kankar néṛ na aavee rasnaa har guṇ gaa▫o. ||1||
The Messenger of Death does not even approach those who chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord with the tongue. ||1||
|
ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਆ ਨਾ ਜਾਪੈ ਆਰਾਧਿ ॥
सेवा सुरति न जाणीआ ना जापै आराधि ॥
Sévaa suraṫ na jaaṇee▫aa naa jaapæ aaraaḋʰ.
I have not understood the wisdom of serving Him, nor have I worshiped Him in meditation.

ਓਟ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਗਜੀਵਨਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ॥੨॥
ओट तेरी जगजीवना मेरे ठाकुर अगम अगाधि ॥२॥
Ot ṫéree jagjeevanaa méré tʰaakur agam agaaḋʰ. ||2||
You are my Support, O Life of the World; O my Lord and Master, Inaccessible and Incomprehensible. ||2||
|
ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਗੁਸਾਈਆ ਨਠੇ ਸੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥
भए क्रिपाल गुसाईआ नठे सोग संताप ॥
Bʰa▫é kirpaal gusaa▫ee▫aa natʰé sog sanṫaap.
When the Lord of the Universe became merciful, sorrow and suffering departed.

ਤਤੀ ਵਾਉ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਰਖੇ ਆਪਿ ॥੩॥
तती वाउ न लगई सतिगुरि रखे आपि ॥३॥
Ṫaṫee vaa▫o na lag▫ee saṫgur rakʰé aap. ||3||
The hot winds do not even touch those who are protected by the True Guru. ||3||
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਦਯੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
गुरु नाराइणु दयु गुरु गुरु सचा सिरजणहारु ॥
Gur naaraa▫iṇ ḋa▫yu gur gur sachaa sirjaṇhaar.
The Guru is the All-pervading Lord, the Guru is the Merciful Master; the Guru is the True Creator Lord.

ਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੭੦॥
गुरि तुठै सभ किछु पाइआ जन नानक सद बलिहार ॥४॥२॥१७०॥
Gur ṫutʰæ sabʰ kichʰ paa▫i▫aa jan Naanak saḋ balihaar. ||4||2||170||
When the Guru was totally satisfied, I obtained everything. Servant Nanak is forever a sacrifice to Him. ||4||2||170||

Har raam raam raam raamaa.
The Lord, the Lord, Ram, Ram, Raam:

ਜਪਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जपि पूरन होए कामा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jap pooran ho▫é kaamaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
meditating on Him, all affairs are resolved. ||1||Pause||
|
ਰਾਮ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜਪੇਦਿਆ ਹੋਆ ਮੁਖੁ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੁ ॥
राम गोबिंद जपेदिआ होआ मुखु पवित्रु ॥
Raam gobinḋ japéḋi▫aa ho▫aa mukʰ paviṫar.
Chanting the Name of the Lord of the Universe, one’s mouth is sanctified.

ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਸੋਈ ਭਾਈ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ॥੧॥
हरि जसु सुणीऐ जिस ते सोई भाई मित्रु ॥१॥
Har jas suṇee▫æ jis ṫé so▫ee bʰaa▫ee miṫar. ||1||
One who recites to me the Praises of the Lord is my friend and brother. ||1||
|
ਸਭਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਸਭਿ ਫਲਾ ਸਰਬ ਗੁਣਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
सभि पदारथ सभि फला सरब गुणा जिसु माहि ॥
Sabʰ paḋaaraṫʰ sabʰ falaa sarab guṇaa jis maahi.
All treasures, all rewards and all virtues are in the Lord of the Universe.

ਕਿਉ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਖ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
किउ गोबिंदु मनहु विसारीऐ जिसु सिमरत दुख जाहि ॥२॥
Ki▫o gobinḋ manhu visaaree▫æ jis simraṫ ḋukʰ jaahi. ||2||
Why forget Him from your mind? Remembering Him in meditation, pain departs. ||2||
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਲੜਿ ਲਗਿਐ ਜੀਵੀਐ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਪਈਐ ਪਾਰਿ ॥
जिसु लड़ि लगिऐ जीवीऐ भवजलु पईऐ पारि ॥
Jis laṛ lagi▫æ jeevee▫æ bʰavjal pa▫ee▫æ paar.
Grasping the hem of His robe, we live, and cross over the terrifying world-ocean.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
मिलि साधू संगि उधारु होइ मुख ऊजल दरबारि ॥३॥
Mil saaḋʰoo sang uḋʰaar ho▫é mukʰ oojal ḋarbaar. ||3||
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, one is saved, and one’s face becomes radiant in the Court of the Lord. ||3||

ਜੀਵਨ ਰੂਪ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਜਸੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
जीवन रूप गोपाल जसु संत जना की रासि ॥
Jeevan roop gopaal jas sanṫ janaa kee raas.
The Praise of the Sustainer of the Universe is the essence of life, and the wealth of His Saints.

ਨਾਨਕ ਉਬਰੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੭੧॥
नानक उबरे नामु जपि दरि सचै साबासि ॥४॥३॥१७१॥
Naanak ubré naam jap ḋar sachæ saabaas. ||4||3||171||
Nanak is saved, chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord; in the True Court, he is cheered and applauded. ||4||3||171||

मीठे हरि गुण गाउ जिंदू तूं मीठे हरि गुण गाउ ॥
Meetʰé har guṇ gaa▫o jinḋoo ṫooⁿ meetʰé har guṇ gaa▫o.
Sing the Sweet Praises of the Lord, O my soul, sing the Sweet Praises of the Lord.

ਸਚੇ ਸੇਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सचे सेती रतिआ मिलिआ निथावे थाउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saché séṫee raṫi▫aa mili▫aa niṫʰaavé ṫʰaa▫o. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Attuned to the True One, even the homeless find a home. ||1||Pause||
|
ਹੋਰਿ ਸਾਦ ਸਭਿ ਫਿਕਿਆ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਫਿਕਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
होरि साद सभि फिकिआ तनु मनु फिका होइ ॥
Hor saaḋ sabʰ fiki▫aa ṫan man fikaa ho▫é.
All other tastes are bland and insipid; through them, the body and mind are rendered insipid as well.

ਵਿਣੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਜੋ ਕਰੇ ਫਿਟੁ ਸੁ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥
विणु परमेसर जो करे फिटु सु जीवणु सोइ ॥१॥
viṇ parmésar jo karé fit so jeevaṇ so▫é. ||1||
Without the Transcendent Lord, what can anyone do? Cursed is his life, and cursed his reputation. ||1||
|
ਅੰਚਲੁ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਸਾਧ ਕਾ ਤਰਣਾ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
अंचलु गहि कै साध का तरणा इहु संसारु ॥
Anchal gėh kæ saaḋʰ kaa ṫarṇaa ih sansaar.
Grasping the hem of the robe of the Holy Saint, we cross over the world-ocean.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ ਉਧਰੈ ਸਭ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
पारब्रहमु आराधीऐ उधरै सभ परवारु ॥२॥
Paarbarahm aaraaḋʰee▫æ uḋʰræ sabʰ parvaar. ||2||
Worship and adore the Supreme Lord God, and all your family will be saved as well. ||2||
|
ਸਾਜਨੁ ਬੰਧੁ ਸੁਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਦੇਇ ॥
साजनु बंधु सुमित्रु सो हरि नामु हिरदै देइ ॥
Saajan banḋʰ sumiṫar so har naam hirḋæ ḋé▫é.
He is a companion, a relative, and a good friend of mine, who implants the Lord’s Name within my heart.

ਅਉਗਣ ਸਭਿ ਮਿਟਾਇ ਕੈ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੁ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੩॥
अउगण सभि मिटाइ कै परउपकारु करेइ ॥३॥
A▫ugaṇ sabʰ mitaa▫é kæ par▫upkaar karé▫i. ||3||
He washes off all my demerits, and is so generous to me. ||3||
|
ਮਾਲੁ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਥੇਹੁ ਘਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
मालु खजाना थेहु घरु हरि के चरण निधान ॥
Maal kʰajaanaa ṫʰéhu gʰar har ké charaṇ niḋʰaan.
Wealth, treasures, and household are all just ruins; the Lord’s Feet are the only treasure.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਾਚਕੁ ਦਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੭੨॥
नानकु जाचकु दरि तेरै प्रभ तुधनो मंगै दानु ॥४॥४॥१७२॥
Naanak jaachak ḋar ṫéræ parabʰ ṫuḋʰno mangæ ḋaan. ||4||4||172||
Nanak is a beggar standing at Your Door, God; he begs for Your charity. ||4||4||172||
