ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਏ ਹਮ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਭਾਰਿਆ ॥੭॥
प्रभ पाए हम अवरु न भारिआ ॥७॥
Parabʰ paa▫é ham avar na bʰaari▫aa. ||7||
I have found God - I am not searching for any other. ||7||
|
ਸਾਚ ਮਹਲਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ॥
साच महलि गुरि अलखु लखाइआ ॥
Saach mahal gur alakʰ lakʰaa▫i▫aa.
The Guru has shown me the unseen Mansion of the True Lord.
|
ਨਿਹਚਲ ਮਹਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਛਾਇਆ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
निहचल महलु नही छाइआ माइआ ॥
Nihchal mahal nahee chʰaa▫i▫aa maa▫i▫aa.
His Mansion is eternal and unchanging; it is not a mere reflection of Maya.

ਸਾਚਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੇ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥੮॥
साचि संतोखे भरमु चुकाइआ ॥८॥
Saach sanṫokʰé bʰaram chukaa▫i▫aa. ||8||
Through truth and contentment, doubt is dispelled. ||8||
|
ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
जिन कै मनि वसिआ सचु सोई ॥
Jin kæ man vasi▫aa sach so▫ee.
That person, within whose mind the True Lord dwells -

ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਈ ॥
तिन की संगति गुरमुखि होई ॥
Ṫin kee sangaṫ gurmukʰ ho▫ee.
in his company, one becomes Gurmukh.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਲੁ ਖੋਈ ॥੯॥੧੫॥
नानक साचि नामि मलु खोई ॥९॥१५॥
Naanak saach naam mal kʰo▫ee. ||9||15||
O Nanak! The True Name washes off the pollution. ||9||15||

ਰਾਮਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਰਾਪੈ ਜਾ ਕਾ ॥
रामि नामि चितु रापै जा का ॥
Raam naam chiṫ raapæ jaa kaa.
One whose consciousness is permeated with the Lord’s Name -
|
ਉਪਜੰਪਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਤਾ ਕਾ ॥੧॥
उपज्मपि दरसनु कीजै ता का ॥१॥
Upjamp ḋarsan keejæ ṫaa kaa. ||1||
receive the blessing of his darshan in the early light of dawn. ||1||
|
ਰਾਮ ਨ ਜਪਹੁ ਅਭਾਗੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ॥
राम न जपहु अभागु तुमारा ॥
Raam na japahu abʰaag ṫumaaraa.
If you do not meditate on the Lord, it is your own misfortune.
|
ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जुगि जुगि दाता प्रभु रामु हमारा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jug jug ḋaaṫaa parabʰ raam hamaaraa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
In each and every age, the Great Giver is my Lord God. ||1||Pause||
|
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਜਨੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
गुरमति रामु जपै जनु पूरा ॥
Gurmaṫ raam japæ jan pooraa.
Following the Guru’s Teachings, the perfect humble beings meditate on the Lord.

ਤਿਤੁ ਘਟ ਅਨਹਤ ਬਾਜੇ ਤੂਰਾ ॥੨॥
तितु घट अनहत बाजे तूरा ॥२॥
Ṫiṫ gʰat anhaṫ baajé ṫooraa. ||2||
Within their hearts, the unstruck melody vibrates. ||2||
|
ਜੋ ਜਨ ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥
जो जन राम भगति हरि पिआरि ॥
Jo jan raam bʰagaṫ har pi▫aar.
Those who worship the Lord and love the Lord -
|
ਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
से प्रभि राखे किरपा धारि ॥३॥
Sé parabʰ raakʰé kirpaa ḋʰaar. ||3||
showering His Mercy, God protects them. ||3||
|
ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਈ ॥
जिन कै हिरदै हरि हरि सोई ॥
Jin kæ hirḋæ har har so▫ee.
Those whose hearts are filled with the Lord, Har, Har -
|
ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਰਸਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥
तिन का दरसु परसि सुखु होई ॥४॥
Ṫin kaa ḋaras paras sukʰ ho▫ee. ||4||
gazing upon the blessed vision of their darshan, peace is obtained. ||4||
|
ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੋ ਰਵੈ ॥
सरब जीआ महि एको रवै ॥
Sarab jee▫aa mėh éko ravæ.
Among all beings, the One Lord is pervading.
|
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੂਨੀ ਭਵੈ ॥੫॥
मनमुखि अहंकारी फिरि जूनी भवै ॥५॥
Manmukʰ ahaⁿkaaree fir joonee bʰavæ. ||5||
The egotistical, self-willed Manmukhs wander in reincarnation. ||5||
|
ਸੋ ਬੂਝੈ ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
सो बूझै जो सतिगुरु पाए ॥
So boojʰæ jo saṫgur paa▫é.
They alone understand who have found the True Guru.
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੇ ਪਾਏ ॥੬॥
हउमै मारे गुर सबदे पाए ॥६॥
Ha▫umæ maaré gur sabḋé paa▫é. ||6||
Subduing their ego, they receive the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. ||6||
|
ਅਰਧ ਉਰਧ ਕੀ ਸੰਧਿ ਕਿਉ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
अरध उरध की संधि किउ जानै ॥
Araḋʰ uraḋʰ kee sanḋʰ ki▫o jaanæ.
How can anyone know of the Union between the being below and the Supreme Being above?

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੰਧਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥੭॥
गुरमुखि संधि मिलै मनु मानै ॥७॥
Gurmukʰ sanḋʰ milæ man maanæ. ||7||
The Gurmukhs obtain this Union; their minds are reconciled. ||7||
|
ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਉ ਗੁਣੁ ਕਰੀਐ ॥
हम पापी निरगुण कउ गुणु करीऐ ॥
Ham paapee nirguṇ ka▫o guṇ karee▫æ.
I am a worthless sinner, without merit. What merit do I have?

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਤਰੀਐ ॥੮॥੧੬॥
प्रभ होइ दइआलु नानक जन तरीऐ ॥८॥१६॥
Parabʰ ho▫é ḋa▫i▫aal Naanak jan ṫaree▫æ. ||8||16||
When God showers His Mercy, servant Nanak is emancipated. ||8||16||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਜਿਉ ਗਾਈ ਕਉ ਗੋਇਲੀ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਾਰਾ ॥
जिउ गाई कउ गोइली राखहि करि सारा ॥
Ji▫o gaa▫ee ka▫o go▫ilee raakʰahi kar saaraa.
As the dairy farmer watches over and protects his cows,
|
ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਪਾਲਹਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹਿ ਆਤਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
अहिनिसि पालहि राखि लेहि आतम सुखु धारा ॥१॥
Ahinis paalėh raakʰ léhi aaṫam sukʰ ḋʰaaraa. ||1||
So does the Lord cherish and protect us, night and day. He blesses the soul with peace. ||1||
|
ਇਤ ਉਤ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
इत उत राखहु दीन दइआला ॥
Iṫ uṫ raakʰo ḋeen ḋa▫i▫aalaa.
Please protect me here and hereafter, O Lord, Merciful to the meek.
|
ਤਉ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तउ सरणागति नदरि निहाला ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ṫa▫o sarṇaagaṫ naḋar nihaalaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
I seek Your Sanctuary; please bless me with Your Glance of Grace. ||1||Pause||

ਜਹ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਹ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ਰਖੁ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
जह देखउ तह रवि रहे रखु राखनहारा ॥
Jah ḋékʰ▫a▫u ṫah rav rahé rakʰ raakʰanhaaraa.
Wherever I look, there You are. Save me, O Savior Lord!

ਤੂੰ ਦਾਤਾ ਭੁਗਤਾ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
तूं दाता भुगता तूंहै तूं प्राण अधारा ॥२॥
Ṫooⁿ ḋaaṫaa bʰugṫaa ṫooⁿhæ ṫooⁿ paraaṇ aḋʰaaraa. ||2||
You are the Giver, and You are the Enjoyer; You are the Support of the breath of life. ||2||
|
ਕਿਰਤੁ ਪਇਆ ਅਧ ਊਰਧੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਗਿਆਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
किरतु पइआ अध ऊरधी बिनु गिआन बीचारा ॥
Kiraṫ pa▫i▫aa aḋʰ oorḋʰee bin gi▫aan beechaaraa.
According to the karma of past actions, people descend to the depths or rise to the heights, unless they contemplate spiritual wisdom.

ਬਿਨੁ ਉਪਮਾ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਕੀ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਨ ਅੰਧਿਆਰਾ ॥੩॥
बिनु उपमा जगदीस की बिनसै न अंधिआरा ॥३॥
Bin upmaa jagḋees kee binsæ na anḋʰi▫aaraa. ||3||
Without the Praises of the Lord of the Universe, the darkness is not dispelled. ||3||
|
ਜਗੁ ਬਿਨਸਤ ਹਮ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਲੋਭੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ ॥
जगु बिनसत हम देखिआ लोभे अहंकारा ॥
Jag binsaṫ ham ḋékʰi▫aa lobʰé ahaⁿkaaraa.
I have seen the world being destroyed by greed and egotism.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਚੁ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥੪॥
गुर सेवा प्रभु पाइआ सचु मुकति दुआरा ॥४॥
Gur sévaa parabʰ paa▫i▫aa sach mukaṫ ḋu▫aaraa. ||4||
Only by serving the Guru is God obtained, and the true gate of liberation found. ||4||
|
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਅਪਾਰ ਕੋ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
निज घरि महलु अपार को अपर्मपरु सोई ॥
Nij gʰar mahal apaar ko aprampar so▫ee.
The Mansion of the Infinite Lord’s Presence is within the home of one’s own being. He is beyond any boundaries.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਥਿਰੁ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੫॥
बिनु सबदै थिरु को नही बूझै सुखु होई ॥५॥
Bin sabḋæ ṫʰir ko nahee boojʰæ sukʰ ho▫ee. ||5||
Without the Word of the Shabad, nothing shall endure. Through understanding, peace is obtained. ||5||
|
ਕਿਆ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ਲੇ ਜਾਇ ਕਿਆ ਫਾਸਹਿ ਜਮ ਜਾਲਾ ॥
किआ लै आइआ ले जाइ किआ फासहि जम जाला ॥
Ki▫aa læ aa▫i▫aa lé jaa▫é ki▫aa faasėh jam jaalaa.
What have you brought, and what will you take away, when you are caught by the noose of Death?

ਡੋਲੁ ਬਧਾ ਕਸਿ ਜੇਵਰੀ ਆਕਾਸਿ ਪਤਾਲਾ ॥੬॥
डोलु बधा कसि जेवरी आकासि पताला ॥६॥
Dol baḋʰaa kas jévree aakaas paṫaalaa. ||6||
Like the bucket tied to the rope in the well, you are pulled up to the Akashic Ethers, and then lowered down to the nether regions of the underworld. ||6||
|
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
गुरमति नामु न वीसरै सहजे पति पाईऐ ॥
Gurmaṫ naam na veesræ sėhjé paṫ paa▫ee▫æ.
Follow the Guru’s Teachings, and do not forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord; you shall automatically obtain honor.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈਐ ॥੭॥
अंतरि सबदु निधानु है मिलि आपु गवाईऐ ॥७॥
Anṫar sabaḋ niḋʰaan hæ mil aap gavaa▫ee▫æ. ||7||
Deep within the self is the treasure of the Shabad; it is obtained only by eradicating selfishness and conceit. ||7||
|
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣੀ ਗੁਣ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥
नदरि करे प्रभु आपणी गुण अंकि समावै ॥
Naḋar karé parabʰ aapṇee guṇ ank samaavæ.
When God bestows His Glance of Grace, people settle in the Lap of the Virtuous Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਲੁ ਨ ਚੂਕਈ ਲਾਹਾ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੮॥੧॥੧੭॥
नानक मेलु न चूकई लाहा सचु पावै ॥८॥१॥१७॥
Naanak mél na chook▫ee laahaa sach paavæ. ||8||1||17||
O Nanak! This Union cannot be broken; the true profit is obtained. ||8||1||17||
