ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
सबदि मनु रंगिआ लिव लाइ ॥
Sabaḋ man rangi▫aa liv laa▫é.
The mind is attuned to the Word of the Shabad; it is lovingly attuned to the Lord.

ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
निज घरि वसिआ प्रभ की रजाइ ॥१॥
Nij gʰar vasi▫aa parabʰ kee rajaa▫é. ||1||
It abides within its own home, in harmony with the Lord’s Will. ||1||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਜਾਇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
सतिगुरु सेविऐ जाइ अभिमानु ॥
Saṫgur sévi▫æ jaa▫é abʰimaan.
Serving the True Guru, egotistical pride departs,
|
ਗੋਵਿਦੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गोविदु पाईऐ गुणी निधानु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Goviḋ paa▫ee▫æ guṇee niḋʰaan. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
and the Lord of the Universe, the Treasure of Excellence, is obtained. ||1||Pause||

ਮਨੁ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਜਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਭਉ ਖਾਇ ॥
मनु बैरागी जा सबदि भउ खाइ ॥
Man bæraagee jaa sabaḋ bʰa▫o kʰaa▫é.
The mind becomes detached and free of desire, when it experiences the Fear of God, through the Shabad.

ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਸਭ ਤੈ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
मेरा प्रभु निरमला सभ तै रहिआ समाइ ॥
Méraa parabʰ nirmalaa sabʰ ṫæ rahi▫aa samaa▫é.
My Immaculate God is pervading and contained among all.

ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
गुर किरपा ते मिलै मिलाइ ॥२॥
Gur kirpaa ṫé milæ milaa▫é. ||2||
By Guru’s Grace, one is united in His Union. ||2||
|
ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਸੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
हरि दासन को दासु सुखु पाए ॥
Har ḋaasan ko ḋaas sukʰ paa▫é.
The slave of the Lord’s slave attains peace.
|
ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਏ ॥
मेरा हरि प्रभु इन बिधि पाइआ जाए ॥
Méraa har parabʰ in biḋʰ paa▫i▫aa jaa▫é.
My Lord God is found in this way.
|
ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥੩॥
हरि किरपा ते राम गुण गाए ॥३॥
Har kirpaa ṫé raam guṇ gaa▫é. ||3||
By the Grace of the Lord, one comes to sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||
|
ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਬਹੁ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
ध्रिगु बहु जीवणु जितु हरि नामि न लगै पिआरु ॥
Ḋʰarig baho jeevaṇ jiṫ har naam na lagæ pi▫aar.
Cursed is that long life, during which love for the Lord’s Name is not enshrined.
|
ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਸੇਜ ਸੁਖਾਲੀ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਮੋਹ ਗੁਬਾਰੁ ॥
ध्रिगु सेज सुखाली कामणि मोह गुबारु ॥
Ḋʰarig séj sukʰaalee kaamaṇ moh gubaar.
Cursed is that comfortable bed which lures one into the darkness of attachment to sexual desire.

ਤਿਨ ਸਫਲੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਜਿਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥੪॥
तिन सफलु जनमु जिन नामु अधारु ॥४॥
Ṫin safal janam jin naam aḋʰaar. ||4||
Fruitful is the birth of that person who takes the Support of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||
|
ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
ध्रिगु ध्रिगु ग्रिहु कुट्मबु जितु हरि प्रीति न होइ ॥
Ḋʰarig ḋʰarig garihu kutamb jiṫ har pareeṫ na ho▫é.
Cursed, cursed is that home and family, in which the love of the Lord is not embraced.

ਸੋਈ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਮੀਤੁ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸੋਇ ॥
सोई हमारा मीतु जो हरि गुण गावै सोइ ॥
So▫ee hamaaraa meeṫ jo har guṇ gaavæ so▫é.
He alone is my friend, who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
|
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੫॥
हरि नाम बिना मै अवरु न कोइ ॥५॥
Har naam binaa mæ avar na ko▫é. ||5||
Without the Lord’s Name, there is no other for me. ||5||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਹਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
सतिगुर ते हम गति पति पाई ॥
Saṫgur ṫé ham gaṫ paṫ paa▫ee.
From the True Guru, I have obtained salvation and honor.
|
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਦੂਖੁ ਸਗਲ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥
हरि नामु धिआइआ दूखु सगल मिटाई ॥
Har naam ḋʰi▫aa▫i▫aa ḋookʰ sagal mitaa▫ee.
I have meditated on the Name of the Lord, and all my sufferings have been erased.
|
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੬॥
सदा अनंदु हरि नामि लिव लाई ॥६॥
Saḋaa anand har naam liv laa▫ee. ||6||
I am in constant bliss, lovingly attuned to the Lord’s Name. ||6||
|
ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਸਰੀਰ ਸੁਧਿ ਭਈ ॥
गुरि मिलिऐ हम कउ सरीर सुधि भई ॥
Gur mili▫æ ham ka▫o sareer suḋʰ bʰa▫ee.
Meeting the Guru, I came to understand my body.
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਸਭ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਈ ॥
हउमै त्रिसना सभ अगनि बुझई ॥
Ha▫umæ ṫarisnaa sabʰ agan bujʰ▫ee.
The fires of ego and desire have been totally quenched.
|
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਖਿਮਾ ਗਹਿ ਲਈ ॥੭॥
बिनसे क्रोध खिमा गहि लई ॥७॥
Binsé kroḋʰ kʰimaa gėh la▫ee. ||7||
Anger has been dispelled, and I have grasped hold of tolerance. ||7||
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵੈ ॥
हरि आपे क्रिपा करे नामु देवै ॥
Har aapé kirpaa karé naam ḋévæ.
The Lord Himself showers His Mercy, and bestows the Naam.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਲੇਵੈ ॥
गुरमुखि रतनु को विरला लेवै ॥
Gurmukʰ raṫan ko virlaa lévæ.
How rare is that Gurmukh, who receives the jewel of the Naam.
|
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵੈ ॥੮॥੮॥
नानकु गुण गावै हरि अलख अभेवै ॥८॥८॥
Naanak guṇ gaavæ har alakʰ abʰévæ. ||8||8||
O Nanak! Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the Unknowable, the Incomprehensible. ||8||8||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਰਾਗੁ ਗਉੜੀ ਬੈਰਾਗਣਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥
रागु गउड़ी बैरागणि महला ३ ॥
Raag ga▫oṛee bæraagaṇ mėhlaa 3.
Raag Gauree Bairaagan, Third Mehl:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਮੁਹ ਫੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਵੇਮੁਖ ਬੁਰੇ ਦਿਸੰਨਿ ॥
सतिगुर ते जो मुह फेरे ते वेमुख बुरे दिसंनि ॥
Saṫgur ṫé jo muh féré ṫé væmukʰ buré ḋisann.
Those who turn their faces away from the True Guru, are seen to be unfaithful and evil.
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਬਧੇ ਮਾਰੀਅਨਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਵੇਲਾ ਨਾ ਲਹੰਨਿ ॥੧॥
अनदिनु बधे मारीअनि फिरि वेला ना लहंनि ॥१॥
An▫ḋin baḋʰé maaree▫an fir vélaa naa lahann. ||1||
They shall be bound and beaten night and day; they shall not have this opportunity again. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
हरि हरि राखहु क्रिपा धारि ॥
Har har raakʰo kirpaa ḋʰaar.
O Lord, please shower Your Mercy upon me, and save me!

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सतसंगति मेलाइ प्रभ हरि हिरदै हरि गुण सारि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saṫsangaṫ mélaa▫é parabʰ har hirḋæ har guṇ saar. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
O Lord God, please lead me to meet the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, so that I may dwell upon the Glorious Praises of the Lord within my heart. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵਦੇ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭਾਇ ਚਲੰਨਿ ॥
से भगत हरि भावदे जो गुरमुखि भाइ चलंनि ॥
Sé bʰagaṫ har bʰaavḋé jo gurmukʰ bʰaa▫é chalann.
Those devotees are pleasing to the Lord, who being Gurmukh walks in harmony with the Way of the Lord’s Will.

ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨਿ ਜੀਵਤ ਮੁਏ ਰਹੰਨਿ ॥੨॥
आपु छोडि सेवा करनि जीवत मुए रहंनि ॥२॥
Aap chʰod sévaa karan jeevaṫ mu▫é rahann. ||2||
Subduing their selfishness and conceit, and performing selfless service, they remain dead while still alive. ||2||
|
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਪਰਾਣ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਾਰ ॥
जिस दा पिंडु पराण है तिस की सिरि कार ॥
Jis ḋaa pind paraaṇ hæ ṫis kee sir kaar.
The body and the breath of life belong to the One - perform the greatest service to Him.
|
ਓਹੁ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਰਖੀਐ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
ओहु किउ मनहु विसारीऐ हरि रखीऐ हिरदै धारि ॥३॥
Oh ki▫o manhu visaaree▫æ har rakʰee▫æ hirḋæ ḋʰaar. ||3||
Why forget Him from your mind? Keep the Lord enshrined in your heart. ||3||
|
ਨਾਮਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਮਿ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
नामि मिलिऐ पति पाईऐ नामि मंनिऐ सुखु होइ ॥
Naam mili▫æ paṫ paa▫ee▫æ naam mani▫æ sukʰ ho▫é.
Receiving the Naam, the Name of the Lord, one obtains honor; believing in the Naam, one is at peace.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਰਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥
सतिगुर ते नामु पाईऐ करमि मिलै प्रभु सोइ ॥४॥
Saṫgur ṫé naam paa▫ee▫æ karam milæ parabʰ so▫é. ||4||
The Naam is obtained from the True Guru; by His Grace, God is found. ||4||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਮੁਹੁ ਫੇਰੇ ਓਇ ਭ੍ਰਮਦੇ ਨਾ ਟਿਕੰਨਿ ॥
सतिगुर ते जो मुहु फेरे ओइ भ्रमदे ना टिकंनि ॥
Saṫgur ṫé jo muhu féré o▫é bʰaramḋé naa tikann.
They turn their faces away from the True Guru; they continue to wander aimlessly.

ਧਰਤਿ ਅਸਮਾਨੁ ਨ ਝਲਈ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਪਏ ਪਚੰਨਿ ॥੫॥
धरति असमानु न झलई विचि विसटा पए पचंनि ॥५॥
Ḋʰaraṫ asmaan na jʰal▫ee vich vistaa pa▫é pachann. ||5||
They are not accepted by the earth or the sky; they fall into manure, and rot. ||5||
|
ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਠਗਉਲੀ ਪਾਇ ॥
इहु जगु भरमि भुलाइआ मोह ठगउली पाइ ॥
Ih jag bʰaram bʰulaa▫i▫aa moh tʰag▫ulee paa▫é.
This world is deluded by doubt - it has taken the drug of emotional attachment.

ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਭਿਟੈ ਮਾਇ ॥੬॥
जिना सतिगुरु भेटिआ तिन नेड़ि न भिटै माइ ॥६॥
Jinaa saṫgur bʰéti▫aa ṫin néṛ na bʰitæ maa▫é. ||6||
Maya does not draw near those who have met with the True Guru. ||6||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਸੋ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
सतिगुरु सेवनि सो सोहणे हउमै मैलु गवाइ ॥
Saṫgur sévan so sohṇé ha▫umæ mæl gavaa▫é.
Those who serve the True Guru are very beautiful; they cast off the filth of selfishness and conceit.
