ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥
जिसु प्रसादि सभु जगतु तराइआ ॥
Jis parsaaḋ sabʰ jagaṫ ṫaraa▫i▫aa.
by his grace, the whole world is saved.

ਜਨ ਆਵਨ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
जन आवन का इहै सुआउ ॥
Jan aavan kaa ihæ su▫aa▫o.
This is his purpose in life;
|
ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
जन कै संगि चिति आवै नाउ ॥
Jan kæ sang chiṫ aavæ naa▫o.
in the Company of this humble servant, the Lord’s Name comes to mind.

ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
आपि मुकतु मुकतु करै संसारु ॥
Aap mukaṫ mukaṫ karæ sansaar.
He Himself is liberated, and He liberates the universe.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥੮॥੨੩॥
नानक तिसु जन कउ सदा नमसकारु ॥८॥२३॥
Naanak ṫis jan ka▫o saḋaa namaskaar. ||8||23||
O Nanak! To that humble servant, I bow in reverence forever. ||8||23||

ਪੂਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
पूरा प्रभु आराधिआ पूरा जा का नाउ ॥
Pooraa parabʰ aaraaḋʰi▫aa pooraa jaa kaa naa▫o.
I worship and adore the Perfect Lord God. Perfect is His Name.

ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥
नानक पूरा पाइआ पूरे के गुन गाउ ॥१॥
Naanak pooraa paa▫i▫aa pooré ké gun gaa▫o. ||1||
O Nanak! I have obtained the Perfect One; I sing the Glorious Praises of the Perfect Lord. ||1||

Pooré gur kaa sun upḋés.
Listen to the Teachings of the Perfect Guru;

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਪੇਖੁ ॥
पारब्रहमु निकटि करि पेखु ॥
Paarbarahm nikat kar pékʰ.
see the Supreme Lord God near you.

ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
सासि सासि सिमरहु गोबिंद ॥
Saas saas simrahu gobinḋ.
With each and every breath, meditate in remembrance of the Lord of the Universe,

ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰ ਕੀ ਉਤਰੈ ਚਿੰਦ ॥
मन अंतर की उतरै चिंद ॥
Man anṫar kee uṫræ chinḋ.
and the anxiety within your mind shall depart.
|
ਆਸ ਅਨਿਤ ਤਿਆਗਹੁ ਤਰੰਗ ॥
आस अनित तिआगहु तरंग ॥
Aas aniṫ ṫi▫aagahu ṫarang.
Abandon the waves of fleeting desire,
|
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਨ ਮੰਗ ॥
संत जना की धूरि मन मंग ॥
Sanṫ janaa kee ḋʰoor man mang.
and pray for the dust of the feet of the Saints.
|
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਹੁ ॥
आपु छोडि बेनती करहु ॥
Aap chʰod bénṫee karahu.
Renounce your selfishness and conceit and offer your prayers.
|
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਹੁ ॥
साधसंगि अगनि सागरु तरहु ॥
Saaḋʰsang agan saagar ṫarahu.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, cross over the ocean of fire.

ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਕੇ ਭਰਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
हरि धन के भरि लेहु भंडार ॥
Har ḋʰan ké bʰar lého bʰandaar.
Fill your stores with the wealth of the Lord.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥੧॥
नानक गुर पूरे नमसकार ॥१॥
Naanak gur pooré namaskaar. ||1||
Nanak bows in humility and reverence to the Perfect Guru. ||1||

ਖੇਮ ਕੁਸਲ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ॥
खेम कुसल सहज आनंद ॥
Kʰém kusal sahj aananḋ.
Happiness, intuitive peace, poise and bliss -
|
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਭਜੁ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ॥
साधसंगि भजु परमानंद ॥
Saaḋʰsang bʰaj parmaananḋ.
in the Company of the Holy, meditate on the Lord of supreme bliss.
|
ਨਰਕ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਉਧਾਰਹੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
नरक निवारि उधारहु जीउ ॥
Narak nivaar uḋʰaarahu jee▫o.
You shall be spared from hell - save your soul!
|
ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਉ ॥
गुन गोबिंद अमृत रसु पीउ ॥
Gun gobinḋ amriṫ ras pee▫o.
drink the ambrosial essence of the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.

ਚਿਤਿ ਚਿਤਵਹੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਏਕ ॥
चिति चितवहु नाराइण एक ॥
Chiṫ chiṫvahu naaraa▫iṇ ék.
Focus your consciousness on the One, the All-pervading Lord -
|
ਏਕ ਰੂਪ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਰੰਗ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
एक रूप जा के रंग अनेक ॥
Ék roop jaa ké rang anék.
He has One Form, but He has many manifestations.
|
ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਾਮੋਦਰ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
गोपाल दामोदर दीन दइआल ॥
Gopaal ḋaamoḋar ḋeen ḋa▫i▫aal.
Sustainer of the Universe, Lord of the world, Kind to the poor,
|
ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥
दुख भंजन पूरन किरपाल ॥
Ḋukʰ bʰanjan pooran kirpaal.
Destroyer of sorrow, perfectly Merciful.
|
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਾਰੰ ਬਾਰ ॥
सिमरि सिमरि नामु बारं बार ॥
Simar simar naam baaraⁿ baar.
Meditate, meditate in remembrance of the Naam, again and again.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਅਧਾਰ ॥੨॥
नानक जीअ का इहै अधार ॥२॥
Naanak jee▫a kaa ihæ aḋʰaar. ||2||
O Nanak! It is the Support of the soul. ||2||

ਉਤਮ ਸਲੋਕ ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਬਚਨ ॥
उतम सलोक साध के बचन ॥
Uṫam salok saaḋʰ ké bachan.
The most sublime hymns are the Words of the Holy.
|
ਅਮੁਲੀਕ ਲਾਲ ਏਹਿ ਰਤਨ ॥
अमुलीक लाल एहि रतन ॥
Amuleek laal éhi raṫan.
These are priceless rubies and gems.
|
ਸੁਨਤ ਕਮਾਵਤ ਹੋਤ ਉਧਾਰ ॥
सुनत कमावत होत उधार ॥
Sunaṫ kamaavaṫ hoṫ uḋʰaar.
One who listens and acts on them is saved.
|
ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਲੋਕਹ ਨਿਸਤਾਰ ॥
आपि तरै लोकह निसतार ॥
Aap ṫaræ lokah nisṫaar.
He himself swims across, and saves others as well.
|
ਸਫਲ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
सफल जीवनु सफलु ता का संगु ॥
Safal jeevan safal ṫaa kaa sang.
His life is prosperous, and his company is fruitful;
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
जा कै मनि लागा हरि रंगु ॥
Jaa kæ man laagaa har rang.
his mind is imbued with the love of the Lord.
|
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਨਾਹਦੁ ਵਾਜੈ ॥
जै जै सबदु अनाहदु वाजै ॥
Jæ jæ sabaḋ anaahaḋ vaajæ.
Hail, hail to him, for whom the sound current of the Shabad vibrates.
|
ਸੁਨਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਅਨਦ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗਾਜੈ ॥
सुनि सुनि अनद करे प्रभु गाजै ॥
Sun sun anaḋ karé parabʰ gaajæ.
Hearing it again and again, he is in bliss, proclaiming God’s Praises.
|
ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਮਹਾਂਤ ਕੈ ਮਾਥੇ ॥
प्रगटे गुपाल महांत कै माथे ॥
Pargaté gupaal mahaaⁿṫ kæ maaṫʰé.
The Lord radiates from the foreheads of the Holy.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਧਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਾਥੇ ॥੩॥
नानक उधरे तिन कै साथे ॥३॥
Naanak uḋʰré ṫin kæ saaṫʰé. ||3||
Nanak is saved in their company. ||3||
|
ਸਰਨਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਰਨੀ ਆਏ ॥
सरनि जोगु सुनि सरनी आए ॥
Saran jog sun sarnee aa▫é.
Hearing that He can give Sanctuary, I have come seeking His Sanctuary.
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
करि किरपा प्रभ आप मिलाए ॥
Kar kirpaa parabʰ aap milaa▫é.
Bestowing His Mercy, God has merged me with Himself.
|
ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ਬੈਰ ਭਏ ਸਭ ਰੇਨ ॥
मिटि गए बैर भए सभ रेन ॥
Mit ga▫é bær bʰa▫é sabʰ rén.
Hatred is gone, and I have become the dust of all.
|
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਲੈਨ ॥
अमृत नामु साधसंगि लैन ॥
Amriṫ naam saaḋʰsang læn.
I have received the Ambrosial Naam in the Company of the Holy.
|
ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
सुप्रसंन भए गुरदेव ॥
Suparsan bʰa▫é gurḋév.
The Divine Guru is perfectly pleased;
|
ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥
पूरन होई सेवक की सेव ॥
Pooran ho▫ee sévak kee sév.
the service of His servant has been rewarded.
|
ਆਲ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਤੇ ॥
आल जंजाल बिकार ते रहते ॥
Aal janjaal bikaar ṫé rahṫé.
I have been released from worldly entanglements and corruption,
|
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਨਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਕਹਤੇ ॥
राम नाम सुनि रसना कहते ॥
Raam naam sun rasnaa kahṫé.
hearing the Lord’s Name and chanting it with my tongue.
|
ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੁ ਦਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
करि प्रसादु दइआ प्रभि धारी ॥
Kar parsaaḋ ḋa▫i▫aa parabʰ ḋʰaaree.
By His Grace, God has bestowed His Mercy.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਬਹੀ ਖੇਪ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
नानक निबही खेप हमारी ॥४॥
Naanak nibhee kʰép hamaaree. ||4||
O Nanak! My merchandise has arrived save and sound. ||4||
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤ ॥
प्रभ की उसतति करहु संत मीत ॥
Parabʰ kee usṫaṫ karahu sanṫ meeṫ.
Sing the Praises of God, O Saints, O friends,
|
ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਏਕਾਗਰ ਚੀਤ ॥
सावधान एकागर चीत ॥
Saavḋʰaan ékaagar cheeṫ.
with total concentration and one-pointedness of mind.
|
ਸੁਖਮਨੀ ਸਹਜ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਨ ਨਾਮ ॥
सुखमनी सहज गोबिंद गुन नाम ॥
Sukʰmanee sahj gobinḋ gun naam.
Sukhmani is the peaceful ease, the Glory of God, the Naam.
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਤ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
जिसु मनि बसै सु होत निधान ॥
Jis man basæ so hoṫ niḋʰaan.
When it abides in the mind, one becomes wealthy.
|
ਸਰਬ ਇਛਾ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
सरब इछा ता की पूरन होइ ॥
Sarab ichʰaa ṫaa kee pooran ho▫é.
All desires are fulfilled.
|
ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਸਭ ਲੋਇ ॥
प्रधान पुरखु प्रगटु सभ लोइ ॥
Parḋʰaan purakʰ pargat sabʰ lo▫é.
One becomes the most respected person, famous all over the world.
|
ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਪਾਏ ਅਸਥਾਨੁ ॥
सभ ते ऊच पाए असथानु ॥
Sabʰ ṫé ooch paa▫é asṫʰaan.
He obtains the highest place of all.
|
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨੁ ॥
बहुरि न होवै आवन जानु ॥
Bahur na hovæ aavan jaan.
He does not come and go in reincarnation any longer.
|
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਾਟਿ ਚਲੈ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
हरि धनु खाटि चलै जनु सोइ ॥
Har ḋʰan kʰaat chalæ jan so▫é.
Beings who depart, after earning the wealth of the Lord’s Name,
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੫॥
नानक जिसहि परापति होइ ॥५॥
Naanak jisahi paraapaṫ ho▫é. ||5||
O Nanak! Are those who obtain it. ||5||
|
ਖੇਮ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ॥
खेम सांति रिधि नव निधि ॥
Kʰém saaⁿṫ riḋʰ nav niḋʰ.
Comfort, peace and tranquility, wealth and the nine treasures;
|
ਬੁਧਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਰਬ ਤਹ ਸਿਧਿ ॥
बुधि गिआनु सरब तह सिधि ॥
Buḋʰ gi▫aan sarab ṫah siḋʰ.
wisdom, knowledge, and all spiritual powers;
|
ਬਿਦਿਆ ਤਪੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
बिदिआ तपु जोगु प्रभ धिआनु ॥
Biḋi▫aa ṫap jog parabʰ ḋʰi▫aan.
learning, penance, Yoga and meditation on God;
