I sing the Praises of the Lord, Ram, Ram, Ram.

ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪਿ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
संत प्रतापि साध कै संगे हरि हरि नामु धिआवउ रे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sanṫ parṫaap saaḋʰ kæ sangé har har naam ḋʰi▫aava▫o ré. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
By the graceful favor of the Saints, I meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause||

ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੂਤਿ ਪਰੋਈ ॥
सगल समग्री जा कै सूति परोई ॥
Sagal samagree jaa kæ sooṫ paro▫ee.
Everything is strung on His string.

ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥
घट घट अंतरि रविआ सोई ॥२॥
Gʰat gʰat anṫar ravi▫aa so▫ee. ||2||
He is contained in each and every heart. ||2||
|
ਓਪਤਿ ਪਰਲਉ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਰਤਾ ॥
ओपति परलउ खिन महि करता ॥
Opaṫ parla▫o kʰin mėh karṫaa.
He creates and destroys in an instant.
|
ਆਪਿ ਅਲੇਪਾ ਨਿਰਗੁਨੁ ਰਹਤਾ ॥੩॥
आपि अलेपा निरगुनु रहता ॥३॥
Aap alépaa nirgun rahṫaa. ||3||
He Himself remains unattached, and without attributes. ||3||
|
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
करन करावन अंतरजामी ॥
Karan karaavan anṫarjaamee.
He is the Creator, the Cause of all causes, the Searcher of hearts.

ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੬੪॥
अनंद करै नानक का सुआमी ॥४॥१३॥६४॥
Anand karæ Naanak kaa su▫aamee. ||4||13||64||
Nanak’s Lord and Master celebrates in bliss. ||4||13||64||

ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਰਹੇ ਭਵਾਰੇ ॥
कोटि जनम के रहे भवारे ॥
Kot janam ké rahé bʰavaaré.
My wandering through millions of births has ended.
|
ਦੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਜੀਤੀ ਨਹੀ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
दुलभ देह जीती नही हारे ॥१॥
Ḋulabʰ ḋéh jeeṫee nahee haaré. ||1||
I have won, and not lost, this human body, so difficult to obtain. ||1||
|
ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਦੁਖ ਦਰਦ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
किलबिख बिनासे दुख दरद दूरि ॥
Kilbikʰ binaasé ḋukʰ ḋaraḋ ḋoor.
My sins have been erased, and my sufferings and pains are gone.

ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
भए पुनीत संतन की धूरि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bʰa▫é puneeṫ sanṫan kee ḋʰoor. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
I have been sanctified by the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||1||Pause||
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਜੋਗ ॥
प्रभ के संत उधारन जोग ॥
Parabʰ ké sanṫ uḋʰaaran jog.
The Saints of God have the ability to save us;
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥੨॥
तिसु भेटे जिसु धुरि संजोग ॥२॥
Ṫis bʰété jis ḋʰur sanjog. ||2||
they meet with those of us who have such preordained destiny. ||2||
|
ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ॥
मनि आनंदु मंत्रु गुरि दीआ ॥
Man aananḋ manṫar gur ḋee▫aa.
My mind is filled with bliss, since the Guru gave me the Mantra of the Lord’s Name.

ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੩॥
त्रिसन बुझी मनु निहचलु थीआ ॥३॥
Ṫarisan bujʰee man nihchal ṫʰee▫aa. ||3||
My thirst has been quenched, and my mind has become steady and stable. ||3||
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ॥
नामु पदारथु नउ निधि सिधि ॥
Naam paḋaaraṫʰ na▫o niḋʰ siḋʰ.
The wealth of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is for me the nine treasures, and the spiritual powers of the Siddhas.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ਬੁਧਿ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੬੫॥
नानक गुर ते पाई बुधि ॥४॥१४॥६५॥
Naanak gur ṫé paa▫ee buḋʰ. ||4||14||65||
O Nanak! I have obtained understanding from the Guru. ||4||14||65||

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਮਿਟੀ ਤਿਆਸ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰੇ ॥
मिटी तिआस अगिआन अंधेरे ॥
Mitee ṫi▫aas agi▫aan anḋʰéré.
My thirst, and the darkness of ignorance have been removed.

ਸਾਧ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਘ ਕਟੇ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥੧॥
साध सेवा अघ कटे घनेरे ॥१॥
Saaḋʰ sévaa agʰ katé gʰanéré. ||1||
Serving the Holy Saints, countless sins are obliterated. ||1||
|
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਘਨਾ ॥
सूख सहज आनंदु घना ॥
Sookʰ sahj aananḋ gʰanaa.
I have obtained celestial peace and immense joy.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुर सेवा ते भए मन निरमल हरि हरि हरि हरि नामु सुना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur sévaa ṫé bʰa▫é man nirmal har har har har naam sunaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Serving the Guru, my mind has become immaculately pure, and I have heard the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, Har. ||1||Pause||

ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਢੀਠਾ ॥
बिनसिओ मन का मूरखु ढीठा ॥
Binsi▫o man kaa moorakʰ dʰeetʰaa.
The stubborn foolishness of my mind is gone;
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਲਾਗਾ ਮੀਠਾ ॥੨॥
प्रभ का भाणा लागा मीठा ॥२॥
Parabʰ kaa bʰaaṇaa laagaa meetʰaa. ||2||
God’s Will has become sweet to me. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਗਹੇ ॥
गुर पूरे के चरण गहे ॥
Gur pooré ké charaṇ gahé.
I have grasped the Feet of the Perfect Guru,
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਲਹੇ ॥੩॥
कोटि जनम के पाप लहे ॥३॥
Kot janam ké paap lahé. ||3||
and the sins of countless incarnations have been washed away. ||3||
|
ਰਤਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਇਹੁ ਸਫਲ ਭਇਆ ॥
रतन जनमु इहु सफल भइआ ॥
Raṫan janam ih safal bʰa▫i▫aa.
The jewel of this life has become fruitful.
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰੀ ਮਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੬੬॥
कहु नानक प्रभ करी मइआ ॥४॥१५॥६६॥
Kaho Naanak parabʰ karee ma▫i▫aa. ||4||15||66||
Says Nanak, God has shown mercy to me. ||4||15||66||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਸਦ ਸਦਾ ਸਮੑਾਰੇ ॥
सतिगुरु अपना सद सदा सम्हारे ॥
Saṫgur apnaa saḋ saḋaa samĥaaré.
I contemplate, forever and ever, the True Guru;

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਕੇਸ ਸੰਗਿ ਝਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
गुर के चरन केस संगि झारे ॥१॥
Gur ké charan kés sang jʰaaré. ||1||
with my hair, I dust the feet of the Guru. ||1||
|
ਜਾਗੁ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਾਗਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
जागु रे मन जागनहारे ॥
Jaag ré man jaaganhaaré.
Be wakeful, O my awakening mind!
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਆਵਸਿ ਕਾਮਾ ਝੂਠਾ ਮੋਹੁ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਪਸਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बिनु हरि अवरु न आवसि कामा झूठा मोहु मिथिआ पसारे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bin har avar na aavas kaamaa jʰootʰaa moh miṫʰi▫aa pasaaré. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Without the Lord, nothing else shall be of use to you; false is emotional attachment, and useless are worldly entanglements. ||1||Pause||
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
गुर की बाणी सिउ रंगु लाइ ॥
Gur kee baṇee si▫o rang laa▫é.
Embrace love for the Word of the Guru’s Bani.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
गुरु किरपालु होइ दुखु जाइ ॥२॥
Gur kirpaal ho▫é ḋukʰ jaa▫é. ||2||
When the Guru shows His Mercy, pain is destroyed. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਥਾਉ ॥
गुर बिनु दूजा नाही थाउ ॥
Gur bin ḋoojaa naahee ṫʰaa▫o.
Without the Guru, there is no other place of rest.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਨਾਉ ॥੩॥
गुरु दाता गुरु देवै नाउ ॥३॥
Gur ḋaaṫaa gur ḋévæ naa▫o. ||3||
The Guru is the Giver, the Guru gives the Name. ||3||
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਆਪਿ ॥
गुरु पारब्रहमु परमेसरु आपि ॥
Gur paarbarahm parmésar aap.
The Guru is the Supreme Lord God; He Himself is the Transcendent Lord.

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੬੭॥
आठ पहर नानक गुर जापि ॥४॥१६॥६७॥
Aatʰ pahar Naanak gur jaap. ||4||16||67||
Twenty-four hours a day, O Nanak! Meditate on the Guru. ||4||16||67||

ਆਪੇ ਪੇਡੁ ਬਿਸਥਾਰੀ ਸਾਖ ॥
आपे पेडु बिसथारी साख ॥
Aapé péd bisṫʰaaree saakʰ.
He Himself is the tree, and the branches extending out.
|
ਅਪਨੀ ਖੇਤੀ ਆਪੇ ਰਾਖ ॥੧॥
अपनी खेती आपे राख ॥१॥
Apnee kʰéṫee aapé raakʰ. ||1||
He Himself preserves His own crop. ||1||
|
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਏਕੈ ਓਹੀ ॥
जत कत पेखउ एकै ओही ॥
Jaṫ kaṫ pékʰa▫o ékæ ohee.
Wherever I look, I see that One Lord alone.
|
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
घट घट अंतरि आपे सोई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gʰat gʰat anṫar aapé so▫ee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Deep within each and every heart, He Himself is contained. ||1||Pause||
|
ਆਪੇ ਸੂਰੁ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਬਿਸਥਾਰੁ ॥
आपे सूरु किरणि बिसथारु ॥
Aapé soor kiraṇ bisṫʰaar.
He Himself is the sun, and the rays emanating from it.
|
ਸੋਈ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਸੋਈ ਆਕਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
सोई गुपतु सोई आकारु ॥२॥
So▫ee gupaṫ so▫ee aakaar. ||2||
He is concealed, and He is revealed. ||2||
|
ਸਰਗੁਣ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਥਾਪੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
सरगुण निरगुण थापै नाउ ॥
Sarguṇ nirguṇ ṫʰaapæ naa▫o.
He is said to be of the highest attributes, and without attributes.
|
ਦੁਹ ਮਿਲਿ ਏਕੈ ਕੀਨੋ ਠਾਉ ॥੩॥
दुह मिलि एकै कीनो ठाउ ॥३॥
Ḋuh mil ékæ keeno tʰaa▫o. ||3||
Both converge onto His single point. ||3||
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਖੋਇਆ ॥
कहु नानक गुरि भ्रमु भउ खोइआ ॥
Kaho Naanak gur bʰaram bʰa▫o kʰo▫i▫aa.
Says Nanak, the Guru has dispelled my doubt and fear.

ਅਨਦ ਰੂਪੁ ਸਭੁ ਨੈਨ ਅਲੋਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੬੮॥
अनद रूपु सभु नैन अलोइआ ॥४॥१७॥६८॥
Anaḋ roop sabʰ næn alo▫i▫aa. ||4||17||68||
With my eyes, I perceive the Lord, the embodiment of bliss, to be everywhere. ||4||17||68||
