Goojaree, Fifth Mehl:

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਉ ਨਿਸਿ ਅਰੁ ਭੋਰ ॥
करि किरपा अपना दरसु दीजै जसु गावउ निसि अरु भोर ॥
Kar kirpaa apnaa ḋaras ḋeejæ jas gaava▫o nis ar bʰor.
Show Mercy to me, and grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. I sing Your Praises night and day.

ਕੇਸ ਸੰਗਿ ਦਾਸ ਪਗ ਝਾਰਉ ਇਹੈ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਮੋਰ ॥੧॥
केस संगि दास पग झारउ इहै मनोरथ मोर ॥१॥
Kés sang ḋaas pag jʰaara▫o ihæ manoraṫʰ mor. ||1||
With my hair, I wash the feet of Your slave; this is my life’s purpose. ||1||
|
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੀਆ ਨ ਹੋਰ ॥
ठाकुर तुझ बिनु बीआ न होर ॥
Tʰaakur ṫujʰ bin bee▫aa na hor.
O Lord and Master, without You, there is no other at all.

ਚਿਤਿ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨ ਅਰਾਧਉ ਨਿਰਖਉ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਓਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
चिति चितवउ हरि रसन अराधउ निरखउ तुमरी ओर ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Chiṫ chiṫva▫o har rasan araaḋʰa▫o nirkʰa▫o ṫumree or. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
O Lord, in my mind I remain conscious of You; with my tongue I worship You, and with my eyes, I gaze upon You. ||1||Pause||

ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਰਬ ਕੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਬਿਨਉ ਕਰਉ ਕਰ ਜੋਰਿ ॥
दइआल पुरख सरब के ठाकुर बिनउ करउ कर जोरि ॥
Ḋa▫i▫aal purakʰ sarab ké tʰaakur bin▫o kara▫o kar jor.
O Merciful Lord, O Lord and Master of all, with my palms pressed together I pray to You.

ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਉਧਰਸਿ ਆਖੀ ਫੋਰ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੨੦॥
नामु जपै नानकु दासु तुमरो उधरसि आखी फोर ॥२॥११॥२०॥
Naam japæ Naanak ḋaas ṫumro uḋʰras aakʰee for. ||2||11||20||
Nanak, Your slave, chants Your Name, and is redeemed in the twinkling of an eye. ||2||11||20||

ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਲੋਕ ਅਰੁ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਲੋਕ ਆਈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਧਾਇ ॥
ब्रहम लोक अरु रुद्र लोक आई इंद्र लोक ते धाइ ॥
Barahm lok ar ruḋr lok aa▫ee inḋar lok ṫé ḋʰaa▫é.
Overwhelming the realm of Brahma, the realm of Shiva and the realm of Indra, Maya has come running here.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਉ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਮਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਧੋਵੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥
साधसंगति कउ जोहि न साकै मलि मलि धोवै पाइ ॥१॥
Saaḋʰsangaṫ ka▫o johi na saakæ mal mal ḋʰovæ paa▫é. ||1||
But she cannot touch the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; she washes and massages their feet. ||1||
|
ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਆਇ ਪਰਿਓ ਸਰਨਾਇ ॥
अब मोहि आइ परिओ सरनाइ ॥
Ab mohi aa▫é pari▫o sarnaa▫é.
Now, I have come and entered the Lord’s Sanctuary.

ਗੁਹਜ ਪਾਵਕੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਰੈ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਓ ਹੈ ਬਤਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुहज पावको बहुतु प्रजारै मो कउ सतिगुरि दीओ है बताइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Guhaj paavko bahuṫ parjaaræ mo ka▫o saṫgur ḋee▫o hæ baṫaa▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
This awful fire has burned so many; the True Guru has cautioned me about it. ||1||Pause||

ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਅਰੁ ਜਖੵ ਕਿੰਨਰ ਨਰ ਰਹੀ ਕੰਠਿ ਉਰਝਾਇ ॥
सिध साधिक अरु जख्य किंनर नर रही कंठि उरझाइ ॥
Siḋʰ saaḋʰik ar jakʰ▫y kinnar nar rahee kantʰ urjʰaa▫é.
It clings to the necks of the Siddhas, and the seekers, the demi-gods, angels and mortals.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਗੁ ਕੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕੋਟਿ ਐਸੀ ਦਾਸਾਇ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੨੧॥
जन नानक अंगु कीआ प्रभि करतै जा कै कोटि ऐसी दासाइ ॥२॥१२॥२१॥
Jan Naanak ang kee▫aa parabʰ karṫæ jaa kæ kot æsee ḋaasaa▫é. ||2||12||21||
Servant Nanak has the support of God the Creator, who has millions of slaves like her. ||2||12||21||

ਅਪਜਸੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਗਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਬੈਸਣੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
अपजसु मिटै होवै जगि कीरति दरगह बैसणु पाईऐ ॥
Apjas mitæ hovæ jag keeraṫ ḋargėh bæsaṇ paa▫ee▫æ.
His bad reputation is erased, he is acclaimed all over the world, and he obtains a seat in the Court of the Lord.

ਜਮ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਇ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਸੁਖ ਅਨਦ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
जम की त्रास नास होइ खिन महि सुख अनद सेती घरि जाईऐ ॥१॥
Jam kee ṫaraas naas ho▫é kʰin mėh sukʰ anaḋ séṫee gʰar jaa▫ee▫æ. ||1||
The fear of death is removed in an instant, and he goes to the Lord’s House in peace and bliss. ||1||
|
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਘਾਲ ਨ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
जा ते घाल न बिरथी जाईऐ ॥
Jaa ṫé gʰaal na birṫʰee jaa▫ee▫æ.
His works do not go in vain.
|
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
आठ पहर सिमरहु प्रभु अपना मनि तनि सदा धिआईऐ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Aatʰ pahar simrahu parabʰ apnaa man ṫan saḋaa ḋʰi▫aa▫ee▫æ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Twenty-four hours a day, remember your God in meditation; meditate on Him continually in your mind and body. ||1||Pause||

ਮੋਹਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
मोहि सरनि दीन दुख भंजन तूं देहि सोई प्रभ पाईऐ ॥
Mohi saran ḋeen ḋukʰ bʰanjan ṫooⁿ ḋėh so▫ee parabʰ paa▫ee▫æ.
I seek Your Sanctuary, O Destroyer of the pains of the poor; whatever You give me, God, that is what I receive.

ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸਹ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈਐ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੨੨॥
चरण कमल नानक रंगि राते हरि दासह पैज रखाईऐ ॥२॥१३॥२२॥
Charaṇ kamal Naanak rang raaṫé har ḋaasah pæj rakʰaa▫ee▫æ. ||2||13||22||
Nanak is imbued with the love of Your lotus feet; O Lord, please preserve the honor of Your slave. ||2||13||22||

ਬਿਸ੍ਵੰਭਰ ਜੀਅਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
बिस्व्मभर जीअन को दाता भगति भरे भंडार ॥
Bisamvbʰar jee▫an ko ḋaaṫaa bʰagaṫ bʰaré bʰandaar.
The all-sustaining Lord is the Giver of all beings; His devotional worship is an overflowing treasure.

ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਫਲ ਨ ਹੋਵਤ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਰੇ ਉਧਾਰ ॥੧॥
जा की सेवा निफल न होवत खिन महि करे उधार ॥१॥
Jaa kee sévaa nifal na hovaṫ kʰin mėh karé uḋʰaar. ||1||
Service to Him is not wasted; in an instant, He emancipates. ||1||
|
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਚੁ ॥
मन मेरे चरन कमल संगि राचु ॥
Man méré charan kamal sang raach.
O my mind! Immerse yourself in the Lord’s lotus feet.

ਸਗਲ ਜੀਅ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਆਰਾਧਹਿ ਤਾਹੂ ਕਉ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਚੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सगल जीअ जा कउ आराधहि ताहू कउ तूं जाचु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sagal jee▫a jaa ka▫o aaraaḋʰėh ṫaahoo ka▫o ṫooⁿ jaach. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Seek from Him, who is worshiped by all beings. ||1||Pause||
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੀ ਕਰਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰ ॥
नानक सरणि तुम्हारी करते तूं प्रभ प्रान अधार ॥
Naanak saraṇ ṫumĥaaree karṫé ṫooⁿ parabʰ paraan aḋʰaar.
Nanak has entered Your Sanctuary, O Creator Lord; You, O God, are the support of my breath of life.

ਹੋਇ ਸਹਾਈ ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੨॥੧੪॥੨੩॥
होइ सहाई जिसु तूं राखहि तिसु कहा करे संसारु ॥२॥१४॥२३॥
Ho▫é sahaa▫ee jis ṫooⁿ raakʰahi ṫis kahaa karé sansaar. ||2||14||23||
He who is protected by You, O Helper Lord - what can the world do to him? ||2||14||23||

ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਆਪ ॥
जन की पैज सवारी आप ॥
Jan kee pæj savaaree aap.
The Lord Himself has protected the honor of His humble servant.
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਅਵਖਧੁ ਉਤਰਿ ਗਇਓ ਸਭੁ ਤਾਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि हरि नामु दीओ गुरि अवखधु उतरि गइओ सभु ताप ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har har naam ḋee▫o gur avkʰaḋʰ uṫar ga▫i▫o sabʰ ṫaap. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
The Guru has given the medicine of the Lord’s Name, Har, Har, and all afflictions are gone. ||1||Pause||

ਹਰਿਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਰਖਿਓ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
हरिगोबिंदु रखिओ परमेसरि अपुनी किरपा धारि ॥
Harigobinḋ rakʰi▫o parmésar apunee kirpaa ḋʰaar.
The Transcendent Lord, in His Mercy, has preserved Har Gobind.

ਮਿਟੀ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
मिटी बिआधि सरब सुख होए हरि गुण सदा बीचारि ॥१॥
Mitee bi▫aaḋʰ sarab sukʰ ho▫é har guṇ saḋaa beechaar. ||1||
The disease is over, and there is joy all around; we ever contemplate the Glories of God. ||1||
|
ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਓ ਮੇਰੈ ਕਰਤੈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
अंगीकारु कीओ मेरै करतै गुर पूरे की वडिआई ॥
Angeekaar kee▫o méræ karṫæ gur pooré kee vadi▫aa▫ee.
My Creator Lord has made me His own; such is the glorious greatness of the Perfect Guru.

ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨੀਵ ਧਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਈ ॥੨॥੧੫॥੨੪॥
अबिचल नीव धरी गुर नानक नित नित चड़ै सवाई ॥२॥१५॥२४॥
Abichal neev ḋʰaree gur Naanak niṫ niṫ chaṛæ savaa▫ee. ||2||15||24||
Guru Nanak laid the immovable foundation, which grows higher and higher each day. ||2||15||24||

Kabhoo har si▫o cheeṫ na laa▫i▫o.
You never focused your consciousness on the Lord.
