ਧੰਧਾ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ ਅਉਧਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਗਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
धंधा करत बिहानी अउधहि गुण निधि नामु न गाइओ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ḋʰanḋʰaa karaṫ bihaanee a▫uḋʰahi guṇ niḋʰ naam na gaa▫i▫o. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
You have spent your life engaged in worldly pursuits; you have not sung the Glorious Praises of the treasure of the Naam. ||1||Pause||

ਕਉਡੀ ਕਉਡੀ ਜੋਰਤ ਕਪਟੇ ਅਨਿਕ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਇਓ ॥
कउडी कउडी जोरत कपटे अनिक जुगति करि धाइओ ॥
Ka▫udee ka▫udee joraṫ kapté anik jugaṫ kar ḋʰaa▫i▫o.
Shell by shell, you accumulate money; in various ways, you work for this.

ਬਿਸਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਗਨੀਅਹਿ ਮਹਾ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਖਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
बिसरत प्रभ केते दुख गनीअहि महा मोहनी खाइओ ॥१॥
Bisraṫ parabʰ kéṫé ḋukʰ ganee▫ah mahaa mohnee kʰaa▫i▫o. ||1||
Forgetting God, you suffer awful pain beyond measure, and you are consumed by the Great Enticer, Maya. ||1||

ਕਰਹੁ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਨਹੁ ਨ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਮਾਇਓ ॥
करहु अनुग्रहु सुआमी मेरे गनहु न मोहि कमाइओ ॥
Karahu anoograhu su▫aamee méré ganhu na mohi kamaa▫i▫o.
Show Mercy to me, O my Lord and Master, and do not hold me to account for my actions.

गोबिंद दइआल क्रिपाल सुख सागर नानक हरि सरणाइओ ॥२॥१६॥२५॥
Gobinḋ ḋa▫i▫aal kirpaal sukʰ saagar Naanak har sarṇaa▫i▫o. ||2||16||25||
O merciful and compassionate Lord God, ocean of peace, Nanak has taken to Your Sanctuary, Lord. ||2||16||25||

Rasnaa raam raam ravanṫ.
With your tongue, chant the Lord’s Name, Ram, Ram.

ਛੋਡਿ ਆਨ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਭਜੁ ਸਦਾ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
छोडि आन बिउहार मिथिआ भजु सदा भगवंत ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Chʰod aan bi▫uhaar miṫʰi▫aa bʰaj saḋaa bʰagvanṫ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Renounce other false occupations, and vibrate forever on the Lord God. ||1||Pause||

ਨਾਮੁ ਏਕੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਭਗਤਾ ਈਤ ਆਗੈ ਟੇਕ ॥
नामु एकु अधारु भगता ईत आगै टेक ॥
Naam ék aḋʰaar bʰagṫaa eeṫ aagæ ték.
The One Name is the support of His devotees; in this world, and in the world hereafter, it is their anchor and support.

ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੀਆ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਬੇਕ ॥੧॥
करि क्रिपा गोबिंद दीआ गुर गिआनु बुधि बिबेक ॥१॥
Kar kirpaa gobinḋ ḋee▫aa gur gi▫aan buḋʰ bibék. ||1||
In His mercy and kindness, the Guru has given me the divine wisdom of God, and a discriminating intellect. ||1||

ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਥ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਸਰਣਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਹੀ ॥
करण कारण संम्रथ स्रीधर सरणि ता की गही ॥
Karaṇ kaaraṇ samraṫʰ sareeḋʰar saraṇ ṫaa kee gahee.
The all-powerful Lord is the Creator, the Cause of all causes; He is the Master of wealth - I seek His Sanctuary.

ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਰਵਾਲ ਸਾਧੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਲਹੀ ॥੨॥੧੭॥੨੬॥
मुकति जुगति रवाल साधू नानक हरि निधि लही ॥२॥१७॥२६॥
Mukaṫ jugaṫ ravaal saaḋʰoo Naanak har niḋʰ lahee. ||2||17||26||
Liberation and worldly success come from the dust of the feet of the Holy Saints; Nanak has obtained the Lord’s treasure. ||2||17||26||

ਛਾਡਿ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਆਣਪਾ ਸਾਧ ਸਰਣੀ ਆਉ ॥
छाडि सगल सिआणपा साध सरणी आउ ॥
Chʰaad sagal si▫aaṇpaa saaḋʰ sarṇee aa▫o.
Give up all your clever tricks, and seek the Sanctuary of the Holy Saint.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥
पारब्रहम परमेसरो प्रभू के गुण गाउ ॥१॥
Paarbarahm parmésaro parabʰoo ké guṇ gaa▫o. ||1||
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord. ||1||

ਰੇ ਚਿਤ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਅਰਾਧਿ ॥
रे चित चरण कमल अराधि ॥
Ré chiṫ charaṇ kamal araaḋʰ.
O my consciousness, contemplate and adore the Lotus Feet of the Lord.

ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਿਟੈ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਧਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सरब सूख कलिआण पावहि मिटै सगल उपाधि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sarab sookʰ kali▫aaṇ paavahi mitæ sagal upaaḋʰ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
You shall obtain total peace and salvation, and all troubles shall depart. ||1||Pause||

ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਮੀਤ ਭਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
मात पिता सुत मीत भाई तिसु बिना नही कोइ ॥
Maaṫ piṫaa suṫ meeṫ bʰaa▫ee ṫis binaa nahee ko▫é.
Mother, father, children, friends and siblings - without the Lord, none of them are real.

ਈਤ ਊਤ ਜੀਅ ਨਾਲਿ ਸੰਗੀ ਸਰਬ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥
ईत ऊत जीअ नालि संगी सरब रविआ सोइ ॥२॥
Eeṫ ooṫ jee▫a naal sangee sarab ravi▫aa so▫é. ||2||
Here and hereafter, He is the companion of the soul; He is pervading everywhere. ||2||

ਕੋਟਿ ਜਤਨ ਉਪਾਵ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਮਿ ॥
कोटि जतन उपाव मिथिआ कछु न आवै कामि ॥
Kot jaṫan upaav miṫʰi▫aa kachʰ na aavæ kaam.
Millions of plans, tricks, and efforts are of no use, and serve no purpose.

ਸਰਣਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ॥੩॥
सरणि साधू निरमला गति होइ प्रभ कै नामि ॥३॥
Saraṇ saaḋʰoo nirmalaa gaṫ ho▫é parabʰ kæ naam. ||3||
In the Sanctuary of the Holy, one becomes immaculate and pure, and obtains salvation, through the Name of God. ||3||

ਅਗਮ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਊਚਾ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਜੋਗੁ ॥
अगम दइआल प्रभू ऊचा सरणि साधू जोगु ॥
Agam ḋa▫i▫aal parabʰoo oochaa saraṇ saaḋʰoo jog.
God is profound and merciful, lofty and exalted; He gives Sanctuary to the Holy.

ਤਿਸੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥੪॥੧॥੨੭॥
तिसु परापति नानका जिसु लिखिआ धुरि संजोगु ॥४॥१॥२७॥
Ṫis paraapaṫ naankaa jis likʰi▫aa ḋʰur sanjog. ||4||1||27||
He alone obtains the Lord, O Nanak! Who is blessed with such preordained destiny to meet Him. ||4||1||27||

ਆਪਨਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਰਮਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
आपना गुरु सेवि सद ही रमहु गुण गोबिंद ॥
Aapnaa gur sév saḋ hee ramhu guṇ gobinḋ.
Serve your Guru forever, and chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.

ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥
सासि सासि अराधि हरि हरि लहि जाइ मन की चिंद ॥१॥
Saas saas araaḋʰ har har lėh jaa▫é man kee chinḋ. ||1||
With each and every breath, worship the Lord, Har, Har, in adoration, and the anxiety of your mind will be dispelled. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਾਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
मेरे मन जापि प्रभ का नाउ ॥
Méré man jaap parabʰ kaa naa▫o.
O my mind! Chant the Name of God.

ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਿਲੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सूख सहज अनंद पावहि मिली निरमल थाउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sookʰ sahj anand paavahi milee nirmal ṫʰaa▫o. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
You shall be blessed with peace, poise and pleasure, and you shall find the immaculate place. ||1||Pause||

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਆਰਾਧਿ ॥
साधसंगि उधारि इहु मनु आठ पहर आराधि ॥
Saaḋʰsang uḋʰaar ih man aatʰ pahar aaraaḋʰ.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, redeem your mind, and adore the Lord, twenty-four hours a day.

ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਮਿਟੈ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਧਿ ॥੨॥
कामु क्रोधु अहंकारु बिनसै मिटै सगल उपाधि ॥२॥
Kaam kroḋʰ ahaⁿkaar binsæ mitæ sagal upaaḋʰ. ||2||
Sexual desire, anger and egotism will be dispelled, and all troubles shall end. ||2||
|
ਅਟਲ ਅਛੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਉ ॥
अटल अछेद अभेद सुआमी सरणि ता की आउ ॥
Atal achʰéḋ abʰéḋ su▫aamee saraṇ ṫaa kee aa▫o.
The Lord Master is immovable, immortal and inscrutable; seek His Sanctuary.

ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਏਕ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਉ ॥੩॥
चरण कमल अराधि हिरदै एक सिउ लिव लाउ ॥३॥
Charaṇ kamal araaḋʰ hirḋæ ék si▫o liv laa▫o. ||3||
Worship in adoration the lotus feet of the Lord in your heart, and center your consciousness lovingly on Him alone. ||3||
|
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੀਨੑੇ ਆਪਿ ॥
पारब्रहमि प्रभि दइआ धारी बखसि लीन्हे आपि ॥
Paarbarahm parabʰ ḋa▫i▫aa ḋʰaaree bakʰas leenĥé aap.
The Supreme Lord God has shown mercy to me, and He Himself has forgiven me.

ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੮॥
सरब सुख हरि नामु दीआ नानक सो प्रभु जापि ॥४॥२॥२८॥
Sarab sukʰ har naam ḋee▫aa Naanak so parabʰ jaap. ||4||2||28||
The Lord has given me His Name, the treasure of peace; O Nanak! Meditate on that God. ||4||2||28||

Gur parsaadee parabʰ ḋʰi▫aa▫i▫aa ga▫ee sankaa ṫoot.
By Guru’s Grace, I meditate on God, and my doubts are gone.
