ਦੁਖ ਅਨੇਰਾ ਭੈ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਪਾਪ ਗਏ ਨਿਖੂਟਿ ॥੧॥
दुख अनेरा भै बिनासे पाप गए निखूटि ॥१॥
Ḋukʰ anéraa bʰæ binaasé paap ga▫é nikʰoot. ||1||
Pain, ignorance and fear have left me, and my sins have been dispelled. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
हरि हरि नाम की मनि प्रीति ॥
Har har naam kee man pareeṫ.
My mind is filled with love for the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਬਚਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਧਿਆਏ ਮਹਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मिलि साध बचन गोबिंद धिआए महा निरमल रीति ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mil saaḋʰ bachan gobinḋ ḋʰi▫aa▫é mahaa nirmal reeṫ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Meeting the Holy Saint, under His Instruction, I meditate on the Lord of the Universe, in the most immaculate way. ||1||Pause||

ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਅਨੇਕ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਫਲ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮ ॥
जाप ताप अनेक करणी सफल सिमरत नाम ॥
Jaap ṫaap anék karṇee safal simraṫ naam.
Chanting, deep meditation and various rituals are contained in the fruitful meditative remembrance of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਕਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਆਪਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਭਏ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੨॥
करि अनुग्रहु आपि राखे भए पूरन काम ॥२॥
Kar anoograhu aap raakʰé bʰa▫é pooran kaam. ||2||
Showing His Mercy, the Lord Himself has protected me, and all my works have been brought to fruition. ||2||

ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਨ ਬਿਸਰੁ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਮਰਥ ॥
सासि सासि न बिसरु कबहूं ब्रहम प्रभ समरथ ॥
Saas saas na bisar kabahooⁿ barahm parabʰ samraṫʰ.
With each and every breath, may I never forget You, O God, Almighty Lord and Master.

ਗੁਣ ਅਨਿਕ ਰਸਨਾ ਕਿਆ ਬਖਾਨੈ ਅਗਨਤ ਸਦਾ ਅਕਥ ॥੩॥
गुण अनिक रसना किआ बखानै अगनत सदा अकथ ॥३॥
Guṇ anik rasnaa ki▫aa bakʰaanæ agnaṫ saḋaa akaṫʰ. ||3||
How can my tongue describe Your countless virtues? They are uncountable, and forever indescribable. ||3||

ਦੀਨ ਦਰਦ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਤਾਰਣ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਣ ॥
दीन दरद निवारि तारण दइआल किरपा करण ॥
Ḋeen ḋaraḋ nivaar ṫaaraṇ ḋa▫i▫aal kirpaa karaṇ.
You are the Remover of the pains of the poor, the Savior, the Compassionate Lord, the Bestower of Mercy.

अटल पदवी नाम सिमरण द्रिड़ु नानक हरि हरि सरण ॥४॥३॥२९॥
Atal paḋvee naam simraṇ ḋariṛ Naanak har har saraṇ. ||4||3||29||
Remembering the Naam in meditation, the state of eternal dignity is obtained; Nanak has grasped the protection of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||3||29||

ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਬਹੁ ਸਘਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਾ ਦੀਰਘ ਰੋਗੁ ॥
अह्मबुधि बहु सघन माइआ महा दीरघ रोगु ॥
Ahaⁿ▫buḋʰ baho sagʰan maa▫i▫aa mahaa ḋeeragʰ rog.
Intellectual egotism and great love for Maya are the most serious chronic diseases.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਨੋ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੧॥
हरि नामु अउखधु गुरि नामु दीनो करण कारण जोगु ॥१॥
Har naam a▫ukʰaḋʰ gur naam ḋeeno karaṇ kaaraṇ jog. ||1||
The Lord’s Name is the medicine, which is potent to cure everything. The Guru has given me the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਬਾਛੀਐ ਜਨ ਧੂਰਿ ॥
मनि तनि बाछीऐ जन धूरि ॥
Man ṫan baachʰee▫æ jan ḋʰoor.
My mind and body yearn for the dust of the Lord’s humble servants.

ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਲਹਹਿ ਪਾਤਿਕ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਲੋਚਾ ਪੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
कोटि जनम के लहहि पातिक गोबिंद लोचा पूरि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kot janam ké lahėh paaṫik gobinḋ lochaa poor. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
With it, the sins of millions of incarnations are obliterated. O Lord of the Universe, please fulfill my desire. ||1||Pause||

ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤੇ ਮਧਿ ਆਸਾ ਕੂਕਰੀ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥
आदि अंते मधि आसा कूकरी बिकराल ॥
Aaḋ anṫé maḋʰ aasaa kookree bikraal.
In the beginning, in the middle, and in the end, one is hounded by dreadful desires.

ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਰਮਣੰ ਕਾਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਜਾਲ ॥੨॥
गुर गिआन कीरतन गोबिंद रमणं काटीऐ जम जाल ॥२॥
Gur gi▫aan keerṫan gobinḋ ramṇaⁿ kaatee▫æ jam jaal. ||2||
Through the Guru’s spiritual wisdom, we sing the Kirtan of the Praises of the Lord of the Universe, and the noose of death is cut away. ||2||

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਮੂਠੇ ਸਦਾ ਆਵਾ ਗਵਣ ॥
काम क्रोध लोभ मोह मूठे सदा आवा गवण ॥
Kaam kroḋʰ lobʰ moh mootʰé saḋaa aavaa gavaṇ.
Those who are cheated by sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment suffer reincarnation forever.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਸਿਮਰਣ ਮਿਟਤ ਜੋਨੀ ਭਵਣ ॥੩॥
प्रभ प्रेम भगति गुपाल सिमरण मिटत जोनी भवण ॥३॥
Parabʰ parém bʰagaṫ gupaal simraṇ mitaṫ jonee bʰavaṇ. ||3||
By loving devotional worship to God, and meditative remembrance of the Lord of the World, one’s wandering in reincarnation is ended. ||3||

ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਸੁਰ ਰਿਦ ਤੀਨਿ ਤਾਪ ਜਲੰਤ ॥
मित्र पुत्र कलत्र सुर रिद तीनि ताप जलंत ॥
Miṫar puṫar kalṫar sur riḋ ṫeen ṫaap jalanṫ.
Friends, children, spouses and well-wishers are burnt by the three fevers.

ਜਪਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮਾ ਦੁਖ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸੰਤ ॥੪॥
जपि राम रामा दुख निवारे मिलै हरि जन संत ॥४॥
Jap raam raamaa ḋukʰ nivaaré milæ har jan sanṫ. ||4||
Chanting the Name of the Lord, Ram, Ram, one’s miseries are ended, as one meets the Saintly servants of the Lord. ||4||

ਸਰਬ ਬਿਧਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਤੇ ਪੁਕਾਰਹਿ ਕਤਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਛੋਟਿ ॥
सरब बिधि भ्रमते पुकारहि कतहि नाही छोटि ॥
Sarab biḋʰ bʰaramṫé pukaarėh kaṫėh naahee chʰot.
Wandering around in all directions, they cry out, “Nothing can save us!

ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਸਰਣ ਅਪਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਗਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਓਟ ॥੫॥੪॥੩੦॥
हरि चरण सरण अपार प्रभ के द्रिड़ु गही नानक ओट ॥५॥४॥३०॥
Har charaṇ saraṇ apaar parabʰ ké ḋariṛ gahee Naanak ot. ||5||4||30||
Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of the Lotus Feet of the Infinite Lord; he holds fast to their Support. ||5||4||30||

Aaraaḋʰ sareeḋʰar safal mooraṫ karaṇ kaaraṇ jog.
Worship and adore the Lord of wealth, the fulfilling vision, the Almighty Cause of all causes.

ਗੁਣ ਰਮਣ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਅਪਾਰ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਤ ਬਿਓਗੁ ॥੧॥
गुण रमण स्रवण अपार महिमा फिरि न होत बिओगु ॥१॥
Guṇ ramaṇ sarvaṇ apaar mahimaa fir na hoṫ bi▫og. ||1||
Uttering His Praises, and hearing of His infinite glory, you shall never suffer separation from Him again. ||1||

ਮਨ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਉਪਾਸ ॥
मन चरणारबिंद उपास ॥
Man charṇaarbinḋ upaas.
O my mind! Worship the Lord’s Lotus Feet.

ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੰਤ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ ਕਾਟਿ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਫਾਸ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
कलि कलेस मिटंत सिमरणि काटि जमदूत फास ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kal kalés mitanṫ simraṇ kaat jamḋooṫ faas. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Meditating in remembrance, strife and sorrow are ended, and the noose of the Messenger of Death is snapped. ||1||Pause||

ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਦਹਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਨ ਅਵਰ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਉਪਾਉ ॥
सत्रु दहन हरि नाम कहन अवर कछु न उपाउ ॥
Saṫar ḋahan har naam kahan avar kachʰ na upaa▫o.
Chant the Name of the Lord, and your enemies shall be consumed; there is no other way.

ਕਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਆਉ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੧॥
करि अनुग्रहु प्रभू मेरे नानक नाम सुआउ ॥२॥१॥३१॥
Kar anoograhu parabʰoo méré Naanak naam su▫aa▫o. ||2||1||31||
Show Mercy, O my God, and bestow upon Nanak the taste of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||1||31||

तूं समरथु सरनि को दाता दुख भंजनु सुख राइ ॥
Ṫooⁿ samraṫʰ saran ko ḋaaṫaa ḋukʰ bʰanjan sukʰ raa▫é.
You are the Almighty Lord, the Giver of Sanctuary, the Destroyer of pain, the King of happiness.

ਜਾਹਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੇ ਭੈ ਭਰਮਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥
जाहि कलेस मिटे भै भरमा निरमल गुण प्रभ गाइ ॥१॥
Jaahi kalés mité bʰæ bʰarmaa nirmal guṇ parabʰ gaa▫é. ||1||
Troubles depart, and fear and doubt are dispelled, singing the Glorious Praises of the Immaculate Lord God. ||1||

ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਠਾਉ ॥
गोविंद तुझ बिनु अवरु न ठाउ ॥
Govinḋ ṫujʰ bin avar na tʰaa▫o.
O Lord of the Universe, without You, there is no other place.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਪੀ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਨਾਉ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
करि किरपा पारब्रहम सुआमी जपी तुमारा नाउ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Kar kirpaa paarbarahm su▫aamee japee ṫumaaraa naa▫o. Rahaa▫o.
Show Mercy to me, O Supreme Lord Master, so that I may chant Your Name. ||Pause||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਿ ਲਗੇ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨੀ ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
सतिगुर सेवि लगे हरि चरनी वडै भागि लिव लागी ॥
Saṫgur sév lagé har charnee vadæ bʰaag liv laagee.
Serving the True Guru, I am attached to the Lord’s Lotus Feet; by great good fortune, I have embraced love for Him.
