ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਮੈ ਥਾਉ ॥
भाई रे अवरु नाही मै थाउ ॥
Bʰaa▫ee ré avar naahee mæ ṫʰaa▫o.
O Siblings of Destiny, I have no other place to go.

ਮੈ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मै धनु नामु निधानु है गुरि दीआ बलि जाउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mæ ḋʰan naam niḋʰaan hæ gur ḋee▫aa bal jaa▫o. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
The Guru has given me the Treasure of the Wealth of the Naam; I am a sacrifice to Him. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਉ ॥
गुरमति पति साबासि तिसु तिस कै संगि मिलाउ ॥
Gurmaṫ paṫ saabaas ṫis ṫis kæ sang milaa▫o.
The Guru’s Teachings bring honor. Blessed is He-may I meet and be with Him!

ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਘੜੀ ਨ ਜੀਵਊ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
तिसु बिनु घड़ी न जीवऊ बिनु नावै मरि जाउ ॥
Ṫis bin gʰaṛee na jeev▫oo bin naavæ mar jaa▫o.
Without Him, I cannot live, even for a moment. Without His Name, I die.

ਮੈ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਟੇਕ ਟਿਕੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੨॥
मै अंधुले नामु न वीसरै टेक टिकी घरि जाउ ॥२॥
Mæ anḋʰulé naam na veesræ ték tikee gʰar jaa▫o. ||2||
I am blind-may I never forget the Naam! Under His Protection, I shall reach my true home. ||2||

ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਨਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਧੁਲਾ ਚੇਲੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ॥
गुरू जिना का अंधुला चेले नाही ठाउ ॥
Guroo jinaa kaa anḋʰulaa chélé naahee tʰaa▫o.
Those Chaylaas, those devotees, whose spiritual teacher is blind, shall not find their place of rest.

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਉ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕਿਆ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
बिनु सतिगुर नाउ न पाईऐ बिनु नावै किआ सुआउ ॥
Bin saṫgur naa▫o na paa▫ee▫æ bin naavæ ki▫aa su▫aa▫o.
Without the True Guru, the Name is not obtained. Without the Name, what is the use of it all?

ਆਇ ਗਇਆ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਣਾ ਜਿਉ ਸੁੰਞੈ ਘਰਿ ਕਾਉ ॥੩॥
आइ गइआ पछुतावणा जिउ सुंञै घरि काउ ॥३॥
Aa▫é ga▫i▫aa pachʰuṫaavṇaa ji▫o suñæ gʰar kaa▫o. ||3||
People come and go, regretting and repenting, like crows in a deserted house. ||3||
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੇਹੁਰੀ ਜਿਉ ਕਲਰ ਕੀ ਭੀਤਿ ॥
बिनु नावै दुखु देहुरी जिउ कलर की भीति ॥
Bin naavæ ḋukʰ ḋéhuree ji▫o kalar kee bʰeeṫ.
Without the Name, the body suffers in pain; it crumbles like a wall of sand.

ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਨ ਚੀਤਿ ॥
तब लगु महलु न पाईऐ जब लगु साचु न चीति ॥
Ṫab lag mahal na paa▫ee▫æ jab lag saach na cheeṫ.
As long as Truth does not enter into the consciousness, the Mansion of the Lord’s Presence is not found.

ਸਬਦਿ ਰਪੈ ਘਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ਪਦੁ ਨੀਤਿ ॥੪॥
सबदि रपै घरु पाईऐ निरबाणी पदु नीति ॥४॥
Sabaḋ rapæ gʰar paa▫ee▫æ nirbaaṇee paḋ neeṫ. ||4||
Attuned to the Shabad, we enter our home, and obtain the Eternal State of Nirvana. ||4||

ਹਉ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਛਉ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰ ਪੁਛਿ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਉ ॥
हउ गुर पूछउ आपणे गुर पुछि कार कमाउ ॥
Ha▫o gur poochʰa▫o aapṇé gur puchʰ kaar kamaa▫o.
I ask my Guru for His Advice, and I follow the Guru’s Advice.

ਸਬਦਿ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
सबदि सलाही मनि वसै हउमै दुखु जलि जाउ ॥
Sabaḋ salaahee man vasæ ha▫umæ ḋukʰ jal jaa▫o.
With the Shabads of Praise abiding in the mind, the pain of egotism is burnt away.

ਸਹਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਮਿਲਾਵੜਾ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਚਿ ਮਿਲਾਉ ॥੫॥
सहजे होइ मिलावड़ा साचे साचि मिलाउ ॥५॥
Sėhjé ho▫é milaavṛaa saaché saach milaa▫o. ||5||
We are intuitively united with Him, and we meet the Truest of the True. ||5||

ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ ਤਜਿ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
सबदि रते से निरमले तजि काम क्रोधु अहंकारु ॥
Sabaḋ raṫé sé nirmalé ṫaj kaam kroḋʰ ahaⁿkaar.
Those who are attuned to the Shabad are spotless and pure; they renounce sexual desire, anger, selfishness and conceit.

ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਨਿ ਸਦ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
नामु सलाहनि सद सदा हरि राखहि उर धारि ॥
Naam salaahan saḋ saḋaa har raakʰahi ur ḋʰaar.
They sing the Praises of the Naam, forever and ever; they keep the Lord enshrined within their hearts.

ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਸਭ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੬॥
सो किउ मनहु विसारीऐ सभ जीआ का आधारु ॥६॥
So ki▫o manhu visaaree▫æ sabʰ jee▫aa kaa aaḋʰaar. ||6||
How could we ever forget Him from our minds? He is the Support of all beings. ||6||

ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਸੋ ਮਰਿ ਰਹੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ॥
सबदि मरै सो मरि रहै फिरि मरै न दूजी वार ॥
Sabaḋ maræ so mar rahæ fir maræ na ḋoojee vaar.
One who dies in the Shabad is beyond death, and shall never die again.
|
ਸਬਦੈ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
सबदै ही ते पाईऐ हरि नामे लगै पिआरु ॥
Sabḋæ hee ṫé paa▫ee▫æ har naamé lagæ pi▫aar.
Through the Shabad, we find Him, and embrace love for the Name of the Lord.

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਜਗੁ ਭੂਲਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ ॥੭॥
बिनु सबदै जगु भूला फिरै मरि जनमै वारो वार ॥७॥
Bin sabḋæ jag bʰoolaa firæ mar janmæ vaaro vaar. ||7||
Without the Shabad, the world is deceived; it dies and is reborn, over and over again. ||7||
|
ਸਭ ਸਾਲਾਹੈ ਆਪ ਕਉ ਵਡਹੁ ਵਡੇਰੀ ਹੋਇ ॥
सभ सालाहै आप कउ वडहु वडेरी होइ ॥
Sabʰ salaahæ aap ka▫o vadahu vadéree ho▫é.
All praise themselves, and call themselves the greatest of the great.

ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਚੀਨੀਐ ਕਹੇ ਸੁਣੇ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਇ ॥
गुर बिनु आपु न चीनीऐ कहे सुणे किआ होइ ॥
Gur bin aap na cheenee▫æ kahé suṇé ki▫aa ho▫é.
Without the Guru, one’s self cannot be known. By merely speaking and listening, what is accomplished?

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਣੀਐ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰੈ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੮॥੮॥
नानक सबदि पछाणीऐ हउमै करै न कोइ ॥८॥८॥
Naanak sabaḋ pachʰaaṇee▫æ ha▫umæ karæ na ko▫é. ||8||8||
O Nanak! One who realizes the Shabad does not act in egotism. ||8||8||

ਬਿਨੁ ਪਿਰ ਧਨ ਸੀਗਾਰੀਐ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਬਾਦਿ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥
बिनु पिर धन सीगारीऐ जोबनु बादि खुआरु ॥
Bin pir ḋʰan seegaaree▫æ joban baaḋ kʰu▫aar.
Without her Husband, the soul-bride’s youth and ornaments are useless and wretched.
|
ਨਾ ਮਾਣੇ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੇਜੜੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਿਰ ਬਾਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ॥
ना माणे सुखि सेजड़ी बिनु पिर बादि सीगारु ॥
Naa maaṇé sukʰ séjṛee bin pir baaḋ seegaar.
She does not enjoy the pleasure of His Bed; without her Husband, her ornaments are absurd.

ਦੂਖੁ ਘਣੋ ਦੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਨਾ ਘਰਿ ਸੇਜ ਭਤਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
दूखु घणो दोहागणी ना घरि सेज भतारु ॥१॥
Ḋookʰ gʰaṇo ḋuhaagaṇee naa gʰar séj bʰaṫaar. ||1||
The discarded bride suffers terrible pain; her Husband does not come to the bed of her home. ||1||
|
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਜਪਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
मन रे राम जपहु सुखु होइ ॥
Man ré raam japahu sukʰ ho▫é.
O mind, meditate on the Lord, and find peace.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਰੰਗੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बिनु गुर प्रेमु न पाईऐ सबदि मिलै रंगु होइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bin gur parém na paa▫ee▫æ sabaḋ milæ rang ho▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Without the Guru, love is not found. United with the Shabad, happiness is found. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ॥
गुर सेवा सुखु पाईऐ हरि वरु सहजि सीगारु ॥
Gur sévaa sukʰ paa▫ee▫æ har var sahj seegaar.
Serving the Guru, she finds peace, and her Husband Lord adorns her with intuitive wisdom.

ਸਚਿ ਮਾਣੇ ਪਿਰ ਸੇਜੜੀ ਗੂੜਾ ਹੇਤੁ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
सचि माणे पिर सेजड़ी गूड़ा हेतु पिआरु ॥
Sach maaṇé pir séjṛee gooṛaa héṫ pi▫aar.
Truly, she enjoys the Bed of her Husband, through her deep love and affection.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਣਿ ਸਿਞਾਣੀਐ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲੀ ਗੁਣ ਚਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
गुरमुखि जाणि सिञाणीऐ गुरि मेली गुण चारु ॥२॥
Gurmukʰ jaaṇ siñaaṇee▫æ gur mélee guṇ chaar. ||2||
As Gurmukh, she comes to know Him. Meeting with the Guru, she maintains a virtuous lifestyle. ||2||
|
ਸਚਿ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਵਰ ਕਾਮਣੀ ਪਿਰਿ ਮੋਹੀ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
सचि मिलहु वर कामणी पिरि मोही रंगु लाइ ॥
Sach milhu var kaamṇee pir mohee rang laa▫é.
Through Truth, meet your Husband Lord, O soul-bride. Enchanted by your Husband, enshrine love for Him.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸਾਚਿ ਵਿਗਸਿਆ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
मनु तनु साचि विगसिआ कीमति कहणु न जाइ ॥
Man ṫan saach vigsi▫aa keemaṫ kahaṇ na jaa▫é.
Your mind and body shall blossom forth in Truth. The value of this cannot be described.

ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ॥੩॥
हरि वरु घरि सोहागणी निरमल साचै नाइ ॥३॥
Har var gʰar sohaagaṇee nirmal saachæ naa▫é. ||3||
The soul-bride finds her Husband Lord in the home of her own being; she is purified by the True Name. ||3||
|
ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਮਨੂਆ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ਤਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੈ ਨਾਰਿ ॥
मन महि मनूआ जे मरै ता पिरु रावै नारि ॥
Man mėh manoo▫aa jé maræ ṫaa pir raavæ naar.
If the mind within the mind dies, then the Husband ravishes and enjoys His bride.

ਇਕਤੁ ਤਾਗੈ ਰਲਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਗਲਿ ਮੋਤੀਅਨ ਕਾ ਹਾਰੁ ॥
इकतु तागै रलि मिलै गलि मोतीअन का हारु ॥
Ikaṫ ṫaagæ ral milæ gal moṫee▫an kaa haar.
They are woven into one texture, like pearls on a necklace around the neck.

ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥੪॥
संत सभा सुखु ऊपजै गुरमुखि नाम अधारु ॥४॥
Sanṫ sabʰaa sukʰ oopjæ gurmukʰ naam aḋʰaar. ||4||
In the Society of the Saints, peace wells up; the Gurmukhs take the Support of the Naam. ||4||
|
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਉਪਜੈ ਖਿਨਿ ਖਪੈ ਖਿਨੁ ਆਵੈ ਖਿਨੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
खिन महि उपजै खिनि खपै खिनु आवै खिनु जाइ ॥
Kʰin mėh upjæ kʰin kʰapæ kʰin aavæ kʰin jaa▫é.
In an instant, one is born, and in an instant, one dies. In an instant one comes, and in an instant one goes.

ਸਬਦੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੈ ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਾਲੁ ਸੰਤਾਇ ॥
सबदु पछाणै रवि रहै ना तिसु कालु संताइ ॥
Sabaḋ pachʰaaṇæ rav rahæ naa ṫis kaal sanṫaa▫é.
One who recognizes the Shabad merges into it, and is not afflicted by death.
