ਸਭ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
सभ जीअ तेरे दइआला ॥
Sabʰ jee▫a ṫéré ḋa▫i▫aalaa.
All beings are Yours, O Merciful Lord.

ਅਪਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਕਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
अपने भगत करहि प्रतिपाला ॥
Apné bʰagaṫ karahi parṫipaalaa.
You cherish Your devotees.
|
ਅਚਰਜੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
अचरजु तेरी वडिआई ॥
Achraj ṫéree vadi▫aa▫ee.
Your glorious greatness is wonderful and marvelous.

ਨਿਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੨॥੨੩॥੮੭॥
नित नानक नामु धिआई ॥२॥२३॥८७॥
Niṫ Naanak naam ḋʰi▫aa▫ee. ||2||23||87||
Nanak ever meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||23||87||

Sorat’h, Fifth Mehl:

ਨਾਲਿ ਨਰਾਇਣੁ ਮੇਰੈ ॥
नालि नराइणु मेरै ॥
Naal naraa▫iṇ méræ.
The Lord is always with me.
|
ਜਮਦੂਤੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨੇਰੈ ॥
जमदूतु न आवै नेरै ॥
Jamḋooṫ na aavæ néræ.
The Messenger of Death does not approach me.
|
ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
कंठि लाइ प्रभ राखै ॥
Kantʰ laa▫é parabʰ raakʰæ.
God holds me close in His embrace, and protects me.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਖੈ ॥੧॥
सतिगुर की सचु साखै ॥१॥
Saṫgur kee sach saakʰæ. ||1||
True are the Teachings of the True Guru. ||1||
|
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ॥
गुरि पूरै पूरी कीती ॥
Gur pooræ pooree keeṫee.
The Perfect Guru has done it perfectly.
|
ਦੁਸਮਨ ਮਾਰਿ ਵਿਡਾਰੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਦੀਤੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
दुसमन मारि विडारे सगले दास कउ सुमति दीती ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ḋusman maar vidaaré saglé ḋaas ka▫o sumaṫ ḋeeṫee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
He has beaten and driven off my enemies, and given me, His slave, the sublime understanding of the neutral mind. ||1||Pause||

ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਥਾਨ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
प्रभि सगले थान वसाए ॥
Parabʰ saglé ṫʰaan vasaa▫é.
God has blessed all places with prosperity.
|
ਸੁਖਿ ਸਾਂਦਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਏ ॥
सुखि सांदि फिरि आए ॥
Sukʰ saaⁿḋ fir aa▫é.
I have returned again safe and sound.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਏ ॥
नानक प्रभ सरणाए ॥
Naanak parabʰ sarṇaa▫é.
Nanak has entered God’s Sanctuary.
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਰੋਗ ਮਿਟਾਏ ॥੨॥੨੪॥੮੮॥
जिनि सगले रोग मिटाए ॥२॥२४॥८८॥
Jin saglé rog mitaa▫é. ||2||24||88||
It has eradicated all diseases. ||2||24||88||

ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
सरब सुखा का दाता सतिगुरु ता की सरनी पाईऐ ॥
Sarab sukʰaa kaa ḋaaṫaa saṫgur ṫaa kee sarnee paa▫ee▫æ.
The True Guru is the Giver of all peace and comfort - seek His Sanctuary.

ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਹੋਤ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਗਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
दरसनु भेटत होत अनंदा दूखु गइआ हरि गाईऐ ॥१॥
Ḋarsan bʰétaṫ hoṫ ananḋaa ḋookʰ ga▫i▫aa har gaa▫ee▫æ. ||1||
Beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, bliss ensues, pain is dispelled, and one sings the Lord’s Praises. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
हरि रसु पीवहु भाई ॥
Har ras peevhu bʰaa▫ee.
drink the sublime essence of the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਨਾਮੋ ਆਰਾਧਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
नामु जपहु नामो आराधहु गुर पूरे की सरनाई ॥ रहाउ ॥
Naam japahu naamo aaraaḋʰahu gur pooré kee sarnaa▫ee. Rahaa▫o.
Chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord; worship the Naam in adoration, and enter the Sanctuary of the Perfect Guru. ||Pause||

ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
तिसहि परापति जिसु धुरि लिखिआ सोई पूरनु भाई ॥
Ṫisėh paraapaṫ jis ḋʰur likʰi▫aa so▫ee pooran bʰaa▫ee.
Only one who has such preordained destiny receives it; he alone becomes perfect, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹਾ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੨॥੨੫॥੮੯॥
नानक की बेनंती प्रभ जी नामि रहा लिव लाई ॥२॥२५॥८९॥
Naanak kee bénanṫee parabʰ jee naam rahaa liv laa▫ee. ||2||25||89||
Nanak’s prayer, O Dear God, is to remain lovingly absorbed in the Naam. ||2||25||89||

ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਨ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
करन करावन हरि अंतरजामी जन अपुने की राखै ॥
Karan karaavan har anṫarjaamee jan apuné kee raakʰæ.
The Lord is the Cause of all causes, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; He preserves the honor of His servant.

ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਹੋਤੁ ਜਗ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੈ ॥੧॥
जै जै कारु होतु जग भीतरि सबदु गुरू रसु चाखै ॥१॥
Jæ jæ kaar hoṫ jag bʰeeṫar sabaḋ guroo ras chaakʰæ. ||1||
He is hailed and congratulated throughout the world, and he tastes the sublime essence of the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. ||1||
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥
प्रभ जी तेरी ओट गुसाई ॥
Parabʰ jee ṫéree ot gusaa▫ee.
Dear God, Lord of the world, You are my only support.
|
ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤੁਮੑ ਧਿਆਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तू समरथु सरनि का दाता आठ पहर तुम्ह धिआई ॥ रहाउ ॥
Ṫoo samraṫʰ saran kaa ḋaaṫaa aatʰ pahar ṫumĥ ḋʰi▫aa▫ee. Rahaa▫o.
You are all-powerful, the Giver of Sanctuary; twenty-four hours a day, I meditate on You. ||Pause||

ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਭਜਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਤਿਸੈ ਅੰਦੇਸਾ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
जो जनु भजनु करे प्रभ तेरा तिसै अंदेसा नाही ॥
Jo jan bʰajan karé parabʰ ṫéraa ṫisæ anḋésaa naahee.
That humble being, who vibrates upon You, O God, is not afflicted by anxiety.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਲਗੇ ਭਉ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
सतिगुर चरन लगे भउ मिटिआ हरि गुन गाए मन माही ॥२॥
Saṫgur charan lagé bʰa▫o miti▫aa har gun gaa▫é man maahee. ||2||
Attached to the Feet of the True Guru, his fear is dispelled, and within his mind, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||
|
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀਆ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ॥
सूख सहज आनंद घनेरे सतिगुर दीआ दिलासा ॥
Sookʰ sahj aananḋ gʰanéré saṫgur ḋee▫aa ḋilaasaa.
He abides in celestial peace and utter ecstasy; the True Guru has comforted him.

ਜਿਣਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੇਤੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਆਸਾ ॥੩॥
जिणि घरि आए सोभा सेती पूरन होई आसा ॥३॥
Jiṇ gʰar aa▫é sobʰaa séṫee pooran ho▫ee aasaa. ||3||
He has returned home victorious, with honor, and his hopes have been fulfilled. ||3||
|
ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਕਾਮਾ ॥
पूरा गुरु पूरी मति जा की पूरन प्रभ के कामा ॥
Pooraa gur pooree maṫ jaa kee pooran parabʰ ké kaamaa.
Perfect are the Teachings of the Perfect Guru; Perfect are the actions of God.

ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਤਰਿਓ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੯੦॥
गुर चरनी लागि तरिओ भव सागरु जपि नानक हरि हरि नामा ॥४॥२६॥९०॥
Gur charnee laag ṫari▫o bʰav saagar jap Naanak har har naamaa. ||4||26||90||
Grasping hold of the Guru’s feet, Nanak has crossed over the terrifying world-ocean, chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||26||90||

ਭਇਓ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਆਪੇ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਥਾਟੀ ॥
भइओ किरपालु दीन दुख भंजनु आपे सभ बिधि थाटी ॥
Bʰa▫i▫o kirpaal ḋeen ḋukʰ bʰanjan aapé sabʰ biḋʰ ṫʰaatee.
Becoming merciful, the Destroyer of the pains of the poor has Himself devised all devices.

ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਓ ਜਨੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਬੇੜੀ ਕਾਟੀ ॥੧॥
खिन महि राखि लीओ जनु अपुना गुर पूरै बेड़ी काटी ॥१॥
Kʰin mėh raakʰ lee▫o jan apunaa gur pooræ béṛee kaatee. ||1||
In an instant, He has saved His humble servant; the Perfect Guru has cut away his bonds. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਸਦ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
मेरे मन गुर गोविंदु सद धिआईऐ ॥
Méré man gur govinḋ saḋ ḋʰi▫aa▫ee▫æ.
O my mind! Meditate forever on the Guru, the Lord of the Universe.

ਸਗਲ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सगल कलेस मिटहि इसु तन ते मन चिंदिआ फलु पाईऐ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Sagal kalés mitėh is ṫan ṫé man chinḋi▫aa fal paa▫ee▫æ. Rahaa▫o.
All illness shall depart from this body, and you shall obtain the fruits of your mind’s desires. ||Pause||

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
जीअ जंत जा के सभि कीने प्रभु ऊचा अगम अपारा ॥
Jee▫a janṫ jaa ké sabʰ keené parabʰ oochaa agam apaaraa.
God created all beings and creatures; He is lofty, inaccessible and infinite.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਭਏ ਦਰਬਾਰਾ ॥੨॥੨੭॥੯੧॥
साधसंगि नानक नामु धिआइआ मुख ऊजल भए दरबारा ॥२॥२७॥९१॥
Saaḋʰsang Naanak naam ḋʰi▫aa▫i▫aa mukʰ oojal bʰa▫é ḋarbaaraa. ||2||27||91||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord; his face is radiant in the Court of the Lord. ||2||27||91||

ਸਿਮਰਉ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸਾਂਈ ॥
सिमरउ अपुना सांई ॥
Simra▫o apunaa saaⁿ▫ee.
I meditate in remembrance of my Lord.
|
ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਦ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
दिनसु रैनि सद धिआई ॥
Ḋinas ræn saḋ ḋʰi▫aa▫ee.
Day and night, I forever meditate on Him.
|
ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
हाथ देइ जिनि राखे ॥
Haaṫʰ ḋé▫é jin raakʰé.
He gave me His hand, and protected me.
|
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਮਹਾ ਰਸ ਚਾਖੇ ॥੧॥
हरि नाम महा रस चाखे ॥१॥
Har naam mahaa ras chaakʰé. ||1||
I drink the most sublime essence of the Lord’s Name. ||1||
