ਕਹਤ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਏ ਚੂਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਾ ॥
कहत नानकु सचे सिउ प्रीति लाए चूकै मनि अभिमाना ॥
Kahaṫ Naanak saché si▫o pareeṫ laa▫é chookæ man abʰimaanaa.
Says Nanak, loving the True Lord, the mind’s egotism and self-conceit is eradicated.

ਕਹਤ ਸੁਣਤ ਸਭੇ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨਤ ਪਾਹਿ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੪॥
कहत सुणत सभे सुख पावहि मानत पाहि निधाना ॥४॥४॥
Kahaṫ suṇaṫ sabʰé sukʰ paavahi maanaṫ paahi niḋʰaanaa. ||4||4||
Those who speak and listen to the Lord’s Name, all find peace. Those who believe in it, obtain the supreme treasure. ||4||4||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਪੇ ਲਾਏ ॥
गुरमुखि प्रीति जिस नो आपे लाए ॥
Gurmukʰ pareeṫ jis no aapé laa▫é.
The Lord Himself attaches the Gurmukh to His Love;

ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥
तितु घरि बिलावलु गुर सबदि सुहाए ॥
Ṫiṫ gʰar bilaaval gur sabaḋ suhaa▫é.
joyful melodies permeate his home, and he is embellished with the Word of the Guru’s Shabad.

ਮੰਗਲੁ ਨਾਰੀ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਆਏ ॥
मंगलु नारी गावहि आए ॥
Mangal naaree gaavahi aa▫é.
The women come and sing the songs of joy.
|
ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥
मिलि प्रीतम सदा सुखु पाए ॥१॥
Mil pareeṫam saḋaa sukʰ paa▫é. ||1||
Meeting with their Beloved, lasting peace is obtained. ||1||
|
ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਿਨੑ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
हउ तिन बलिहारै जिन्ह हरि मंनि वसाए ॥
Ha▫o ṫin balihaaræ jinĥ har man vasaa▫é.
I am a sacrifice to those, whose minds are filled with the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि जन कउ मिलिआ सुखु पाईऐ हरि गुण गावै सहजि सुभाए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har jan ka▫o mili▫aa sukʰ paa▫ee▫æ har guṇ gaavæ sahj subʰaa▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Meeting with the humble servant of the Lord, peace is obtained, and one intuitively sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਚਾਏ ॥
सदा रंगि राते तेरै चाए ॥
Saḋaa rang raaṫé ṫéræ chaa▫é.
They are always imbued with Your Joyful Love;
|
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਏ ॥
हरि जीउ आपि वसै मनि आए ॥
Har jee▫o aap vasæ man aa▫é.
O Dear Lord, You Yourself come to dwell in their minds.
|
ਆਪੇ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਪਾਏ ॥
आपे सोभा सद ही पाए ॥
Aapé sobʰaa saḋ hee paa▫é.
They obtain eternal glory.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੇਲੈ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੨॥
गुरमुखि मेलै मेलि मिलाए ॥२॥
Gurmukʰ mélæ mél milaa▫é. ||2||
The Gurmukhs are united in the Lord’s Union. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਰੰਗਾਏ ॥
गुरमुखि राते सबदि रंगाए ॥
Gurmukʰ raaṫé sabaḋ rangaa▫é.
The Gurmukhs are imbued with the love of the Word of the Shabad.
|
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥
निज घरि वासा हरि गुण गाए ॥
Nij gʰar vaasaa har guṇ gaa▫é.
They abide in the home of their own being, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਭਾਏ ॥
रंगि चलूलै हरि रसि भाए ॥
Rang chaloolæ har ras bʰaa▫é.
They are dyed in the deep crimson color of the Lord’s Love; they look so beautiful.
|
ਇਹੁ ਰੰਗੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੩॥
इहु रंगु कदे न उतरै साचि समाए ॥३॥
Ih rang kaḋé na uṫræ saach samaa▫é. ||3||
This dye never fades away; they are absorbed in the True Lord. ||3||
|
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ॥
अंतरि सबदु मिटिआ अगिआनु अंधेरा ॥
Anṫar sabaḋ miti▫aa agi▫aan anḋʰéraa.
The Shabad deep within the nucleus of the self dispels the darkness of ignorance.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
सतिगुर गिआनु मिलिआ प्रीतमु मेरा ॥
Saṫgur gi▫aan mili▫aa pareeṫam méraa.
Meeting with my Friend, the True Guru, I have obtained spiritual wisdom.

ਜੋ ਸਚਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਫੇਰਾ ॥
जो सचि राते तिन बहुड़ि न फेरा ॥
Jo sach raaṫé ṫin bahuṛ na féraa.
Those who are attuned to the True Lord, do not have to enter the cycle of reincarnation again.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥੪॥੫॥
नानक नामु द्रिड़ाए पूरा गुरु मेरा ॥४॥५॥
Naanak naam driṛ▫aa▫é pooraa gur méraa. ||4||5||
O Nanak! My Perfect Guru implants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, deep within. ||4||5||

Bilaaval, Third Mehl:

ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਾਈ ॥
पूरे गुर ते वडिआई पाई ॥
Pooré gur ṫé vadi▫aa▫ee paa▫ee.
From the Perfect Guru, I have obtained glorious greatness.

ਅਚਿੰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
अचिंत नामु वसिआ मनि आई ॥
Achinṫ naam vasi▫aa man aa▫ee.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, has spontaneously come to abide in my mind.
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਈ ॥
हउमै माइआ सबदि जलाई ॥
Ha▫umæ maa▫i▫aa sabaḋ jalaa▫ee.
Through the Word of the Shabad, I have burnt away egotism and Maya.

ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
दरि साचै गुर ते सोभा पाई ॥१॥
Ḋar saachæ gur ṫé sobʰaa paa▫ee. ||1||
Through the Guru, I have obtained honor in the Court of the True Lord. ||1||
|
ਜਗਦੀਸ ਸੇਵਉ ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਾਜਾ ॥
जगदीस सेवउ मै अवरु न काजा ॥
Jagḋees séva▫o mæ avar na kaajaa.
I serve the Lord of the Universe; I have no other work to do.
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਅਨਦੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਾਗਉ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਜਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अनदिनु अनदु होवै मनि मेरै गुरमुखि मागउ तेरा नामु निवाजा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
An▫ḋin anaḋ hovæ man méræ gurmukʰ maaga▫o ṫéraa naam nivaajaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Night and day, my mind is in ecstasy; as Gurmukh, I beg for the bliss-giving Naam. ||1||Pause||

ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ॥
मन की परतीति मन ते पाई ॥
Man kee parṫeeṫ man ṫé paa▫ee.
From the mind itself, mental faith is obtained.
|
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
पूरे गुर ते सबदि बुझाई ॥
Pooré gur ṫé sabaḋ bujʰaa▫ee.
Through the Guru, I have realized the Shabad.
|
ਜੀਵਣ ਮਰਣੁ ਕੋ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ॥
जीवण मरणु को समसरि वेखै ॥
Jeevaṇ maraṇ ko samsar vékʰæ.
How rare is that person, who looks upon life and death alike.
|
ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਨਾ ਜਮੁ ਪੇਖੈ ॥੨॥
बहुड़ि न मरै ना जमु पेखै ॥२॥
Bahuṛ na maræ naa jam pékʰæ. ||2||
She shall never die again, and shall not have to see the Messenger of Death. ||2||
|
ਘਰ ਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਕੋਟ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
घर ही महि सभि कोट निधान ॥
Gʰar hee mėh sabʰ kot niḋʰaan.
Within the home of the self are all the millions of treasures.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਖਾਏ ਗਇਆ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
सतिगुरि दिखाए गइआ अभिमानु ॥
Saṫgur ḋikʰaa▫é ga▫i▫aa abʰimaan.
The True Guru has revealed them, and my egotistical pride is gone.
|
ਸਦ ਹੀ ਲਾਗਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨ ॥
सद ही लागा सहजि धिआन ॥
Saḋ hee laagaa sahj ḋʰi▫aan.
I keep my meditation always focused on the Cosmic Lord.
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮ ॥੩॥
अनदिनु गावै एको नाम ॥३॥
An▫ḋin gaavæ éko naam. ||3||
Night and day, I sing the One Name. ||3||
|
ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਾਈ ॥
इसु जुग महि वडिआई पाई ॥
Is jug mėh vadi▫aa▫ee paa▫ee.
I have obtained glorious greatness in this age,
|
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
पूरे गुर ते नामु धिआई ॥
Pooré gur ṫé naam ḋʰi▫aa▫ee.
from the Perfect Guru, meditating on the Naam.
|
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
जह देखा तह रहिआ समाई ॥
Jah ḋékʰaa ṫah rahi▫aa samaa▫ee.
Wherever I look, I see the Lord permeating and pervading.
|
ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥
सदा सुखदाता कीमति नही पाई ॥४॥
Saḋaa sukʰ▫ḋaaṫa keemaṫ nahee paa▫ee. ||4||
He is forever the Giver of peace; His worth cannot be estimated. ||4||
|
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
पूरै भागि गुरु पूरा पाइआ ॥
Pooræ bʰaag gur pooraa paa▫i▫aa.
By perfect destiny, I have found the Perfect Guru.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
अंतरि नामु निधानु दिखाइआ ॥
Anṫar naam niḋʰaan ḋikʰaa▫i▫aa.
He has revealed to me the treasure of the Naam, deep within the nucleus of myself.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਤਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
गुर का सबदु अति मीठा लाइआ ॥
Gur kaa sabaḋ aṫ meetʰaa laa▫i▫aa.
The Word of the Guru’s Shabad is so very sweet.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝੀ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੫॥੬॥੪॥੬॥੧੦॥
नानक त्रिसन बुझी मनि तनि सुखु पाइआ ॥५॥६॥४॥६॥१०॥
Naanak ṫarisan bujʰee man ṫan sukʰ paa▫i▫aa. ||5||6||4||6||10||
O Nanak! My thirst is quenched, and my mind and body have found peace. ||5||6||4||6||10||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਉਦਮ ਮਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੇਰੇ ਤਿਉ ਕਰਨਾ ॥
उदम मति प्रभ अंतरजामी जिउ प्रेरे तिउ करना ॥
Uḋam maṫ parabʰ anṫarjaamee ji▫o paréré ṫi▫o karnaa.
Effort and intelligence come from God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; as He wills, they act.

ਜਿਉ ਨਟੂਆ ਤੰਤੁ ਵਜਾਏ ਤੰਤੀ ਤਿਉ ਵਾਜਹਿ ਜੰਤ ਜਨਾ ॥੧॥
जिउ नटूआ तंतु वजाए तंती तिउ वाजहि जंत जना ॥१॥
Ji▫o natoo▫aa ṫanṫ vajaa▫é ṫanṫee ṫi▫o vaajėh janṫ janaa. ||1||
As the violinist plays upon the strings of the violin, so does the Lord play the living beings. ||1||
