ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
दिनु रैणि नानकु नामु धिआए ॥
Ḋin ræṇ Naanak naam ḋʰi▫aa▫é.
Day and night, Nanak meditates on the Naam.

ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਏ ॥੪॥੪॥੬॥
सूख सहज आनंद हरि नाए ॥४॥४॥६॥
Sookʰ sahj aananḋ har naa▫é. ||4||4||6||
Through the Lord’s Name, he is blessed with peace, poise and bliss. ||4||4||6||

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
गुर की मूरति मन महि धिआनु ॥
Gur kee mooraṫ man mėh ḋʰi▫aan.
Meditate on the image of the Guru within your mind;

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨ ॥
गुर कै सबदि मंत्रु मनु मान ॥
Gur kæ sabaḋ manṫar man maan.
let your mind accept the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, and His Mantra.

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਰਿਦੈ ਲੈ ਧਾਰਉ ॥
गुर के चरन रिदै लै धारउ ॥
Gur ké charan riḋæ læ ḋʰaara▫o.
Enshrine the Guru’s feet within your heart.

ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਉ ॥੧॥
गुरु पारब्रहमु सदा नमसकारउ ॥१॥
Gur paarbarahm saḋaa namaskaara▫o. ||1||
Bow in humility forever before the Guru, the Supreme Lord God. ||1||
|
ਮਤ ਕੋ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
मत को भरमि भुलै संसारि ॥
Maṫ ko bʰaram bʰulæ sansaar.
Let no one wander in doubt in the world.
|
ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਉਤਰਸਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुर बिनु कोइ न उतरसि पारि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur bin ko▫é na uṫras paar. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Without the Guru, no one can cross over. ||1||Pause||
|
ਭੂਲੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
भूले कउ गुरि मारगि पाइआ ॥
Bʰoolé ka▫o gur maarag paa▫i▫aa.
The Guru shows the Path to those who have wandered off.
|
ਅਵਰ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
अवर तिआगि हरि भगती लाइआ ॥
Avar ṫi▫aag har bʰagṫee laa▫i▫aa.
He leads them to renounce others, and attaches them to devotional worship of the Lord.

ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥
जनम मरन की त्रास मिटाई ॥
Janam maran kee ṫaraas mitaa▫ee.
He obliterates the fear of birth and death.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਵਡਾਈ ॥੨॥
गुर पूरे की बेअंत वडाई ॥२॥
Gur pooré kee bé▫anṫ vadaa▫ee. ||2||
The glorious greatness of the Perfect Guru is endless. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਊਰਧ ਕਮਲ ਬਿਗਾਸ ॥
गुर प्रसादि ऊरध कमल बिगास ॥
Gur parsaaḋ ooraḋʰ kamal bigaas.
By Guru’s Grace, the inverted heart-lotus blossoms forth,
|
ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਮਹਿ ਭਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ॥
अंधकार महि भइआ प्रगास ॥
Anḋʰkaar mėh bʰa▫i▫aa pargaas.
and the Light shines forth in the darkness.
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਸੋ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
जिनि कीआ सो गुर ते जानिआ ॥
Jin kee▫aa so gur ṫé jaani▫aa.
Through the Guru, know the One who created you.

ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਮੁਗਧ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥
गुर किरपा ते मुगध मनु मानिआ ॥३॥
Gur kirpaa ṫé mugaḋʰ man maani▫aa. ||3||
By the Guru’s Mercy, the foolish mind comes to believe. ||3||
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਣੈ ਜੋਗੁ ॥
गुरु करता गुरु करणै जोगु ॥
Gur karṫaa gur karṇæ jog.
The Guru is the Creator; the Guru has the power to do everything.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਗੁ ॥
गुरु परमेसरु है भी होगु ॥
Gur parmésar hæ bʰee hog.
The Guru is the Transcendent Lord; He is, and always shall be.
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਇਹੈ ਜਨਾਈ ॥
कहु नानक प्रभि इहै जनाई ॥
Kaho Naanak parabʰ ihæ janaa▫ee.
Says Nanak, God has inspired me to know this.

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਭਾਈ ॥੪॥੫॥੭॥
बिनु गुर मुकति न पाईऐ भाई ॥४॥५॥७॥
Bin gur mukaṫ na paa▫ee▫æ bʰaa▫ee. ||4||5||7||
Without the Guru, liberation is not obtained, O Siblings of Destiny. ||4||5||7||

ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਨ ਮੋਰ ॥
गुरू गुरू गुरु करि मन मोर ॥
Guroo guroo gur kar man mor.
Chant Guru, Guru, Guru, O my mind.
|
ਗੁਰੂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਹੋਰ ॥
गुरू बिना मै नाही होर ॥
Guroo binaa mæ naahee hor.
I have no other than the Guru.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਰਹਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
गुर की टेक रहहु दिनु राति ॥
Gur kee ték rahhu ḋin raaṫ.
I lean upon the Support of the Guru, day and night.
|
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੧॥
जा की कोइ न मेटै दाति ॥१॥
Jaa kee ko▫é na métæ ḋaaṫ. ||1||
No one can decrease His bounty. ||1||
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
गुरु परमेसरु एको जाणु ॥
Gur parmésar éko jaaṇ.
Know that the Guru and the Transcendent Lord are One.
|
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जो तिसु भावै सो परवाणु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jo ṫis bʰaavæ so parvaaṇ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Whatever pleases Him is acceptable and approved. ||1||Pause||
|
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
गुर चरणी जा का मनु लागै ॥
Gur charṇee jaa kaa man laagæ.
One whose mind is attached to the Guru’s feet -
|
ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਭਾਗੈ ॥
दूखु दरदु भ्रमु ता का भागै ॥
Ḋookʰ ḋaraḋ bʰaram ṫaa kaa bʰaagæ.
his pains, sufferings and doubts run away.

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਪਾਏ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
गुर की सेवा पाए मानु ॥
Gur kee sévaa paa▫é maan.
Serving the Guru, honor is obtained.
|
ਗੁਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
गुर ऊपरि सदा कुरबानु ॥२॥
Gur oopar saḋaa kurbaan. ||2||
I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥
गुर का दरसनु देखि निहाल ॥
Gur kaa ḋarsan ḋékʰ nihaal.
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Guru’s Darshan, I am exalted.

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਘਾਲ ॥
गुर के सेवक की पूरन घाल ॥
Gur ké sévak kee pooran gʰaal.
The work of the Guru’s servant is perfect.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥
गुर के सेवक कउ दुखु न बिआपै ॥
Gur ké sévak ka▫o ḋukʰ na bi▫aapæ.
Pain does not afflict the Guru’s servant.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਜਾਪੈ ॥੩॥
गुर का सेवकु दह दिसि जापै ॥३॥
Gur kaa sévak ḋah ḋis jaapæ. ||3||
The Guru’s servant is famous in the ten directions. ||3||
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
गुर की महिमा कथनु न जाइ ॥
Gur kee mahimaa kaṫʰan na jaa▫é.
The Guru’s glory cannot be described.
|
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
पारब्रहमु गुरु रहिआ समाइ ॥
Paarbarahm gur rahi▫aa samaa▫é.
The Guru remains absorbed in the Supreme Lord God.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਗ ॥
कहु नानक जा के पूरे भाग ॥
Kaho Naanak jaa ké pooré bʰaag.
Says Nanak, one who is blessed with perfect destiny -

ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗ ॥੪॥੬॥੮॥

Gur méree poojaa gur gobinḋ.
I worship and adore my Guru; the Guru is the Lord of the Universe.

ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥
गुरु मेरा पारब्रहमु गुरु भगवंतु ॥
Gur méraa paarbarahm gur bʰagvanṫ.
My Guru is the Supreme Lord God; the Guru is the Lord God.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੇਉ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਉ ॥
गुरु मेरा देउ अलख अभेउ ॥
Gur méraa ḋé▫o alakʰ abʰé▫o.
My Guru is divine, invisible and mysterious.
|
ਸਰਬ ਪੂਜ ਚਰਨ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਉ ॥੧॥
सरब पूज चरन गुर सेउ ॥१॥
Sarab pooj charan gur sé▫o. ||1||
I serve at the Guru’s feet, which are worshiped by all. ||1||
|
ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਮੈ ਥਾਉ ॥
गुर बिनु अवरु नाही मै थाउ ॥
Gur bin avar naahee mæ ṫʰaa▫o.
Without the Guru, I have no other place at all.
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਪਉ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अनदिनु जपउ गुरू गुर नाउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
An▫ḋin japa▫o guroo gur naa▫o. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Night and day, I chant the Name of Guru, Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
गुरु मेरा गिआनु गुरु रिदै धिआनु ॥
Gur méraa gi▫aan gur riḋæ ḋʰi▫aan.
The Guru is my spiritual wisdom, the Guru is the meditation within my heart.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਪਾਲੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥
गुरु गोपालु पुरखु भगवानु ॥
Gur gopaal purakʰ bʰagvaan.
The Guru is the Lord of the World, the Primal Being, the Lord God.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਰਹਉ ਕਰ ਜੋਰਿ ॥
गुर की सरणि रहउ कर जोरि ॥
Gur kee saraṇ raha▫o kar jor.
With my palms pressed together, I remain in the Guru’s Sanctuary.

ਗੁਰੂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ॥੨॥
गुरू बिना मै नाही होरु ॥२॥
Guroo binaa mæ naahee hor. ||2||
Without the Guru, I have no other at all. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਤਾਰੇ ਭਵ ਪਾਰਿ ॥
गुरु बोहिथु तारे भव पारि ॥
Gur bohiṫʰ ṫaaré bʰav paar.
The Guru is the boat to cross over the terrifying world-ocean.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਿ ॥
गुर सेवा जम ते छुटकारि ॥
Gur sévaa jam ṫé chʰutkaar.
Serving the Guru, one is released from the Messenger of Death.
|
ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਮਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਉਜਾਰਾ ॥
अंधकार महि गुर मंत्रु उजारा ॥
Anḋʰkaar mėh gur manṫar ujaaraa.
In the darkness, the Guru’s Mantra shines forth.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥੩॥
गुर कै संगि सगल निसतारा ॥३॥
Gur kæ sang sagal nisṫaaraa. ||3||
With the Guru, all are saved. ||3||
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
गुरु पूरा पाईऐ वडभागी ॥
Gur pooraa paa▫ee▫æ vadbʰaagee.
The Perfect Guru is found, by great good fortune.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
गुर की सेवा दूखु न लागी ॥
Gur kee sévaa ḋookʰ na laagee.
Serving the Guru, pain does not afflict anyone.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
गुर का सबदु न मेटै कोइ ॥
Gur kaa sabaḋ na métæ ko▫é.
No one can erase the Word of the Guru’s Shabad.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥੭॥੯॥
गुरु नानकु नानकु हरि सोइ ॥४॥७॥९॥
Gur Naanak Naanak har so▫é. ||4||7||9||
Nanak is the Guru; Nanak is the Lord Himself. ||4||7||9||
