ਜਾ ਆਏ ਤਾ ਤਿਨਹਿ ਪਠਾਏ ਚਾਲੇ ਤਿਨੈ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਲਇਆ ॥
जा आए ता तिनहि पठाए चाले तिनै बुलाइ लइआ ॥
Jaa aa▫é ṫaa ṫinėh patʰaa▫é chaalé ṫinæ bulaa▫é la▫i▫aa.
He comes when the Lord sends him; when the Lord calls him back, he goes.

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਣਾ ਸੋ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਬਖਸਣਹਾਰੈ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਇਆ ॥੧੦॥
जो किछु करणा सो करि रहिआ बखसणहारै बखसि लइआ ॥१०॥
Jo kichʰ karṇaa so kar rahi▫aa bakʰsaṇhaaræ bakʰas la▫i▫aa. ||10||
Whatever he does, the Lord is doing. The Forgiving Lord forgives him. ||10||

ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਖੋਜੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
जिनि एहु चाखिआ राम रसाइणु तिन की संगति खोजु भइआ ॥
Jin éhu chaakʰi▫aa raam rasaa▫iṇ ṫin kee sangaṫ kʰoj bʰa▫i▫aa.
I seek to be with those who have tasted this sublime essence of the Lord.

ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੧੧॥
रिधि सिधि बुधि गिआनु गुरू ते पाइआ मुकति पदारथु सरणि पइआ ॥११॥
Riḋʰ siḋʰ buḋʰ gi▫aan guroo ṫé paa▫i▫aa mukaṫ paḋaaraṫʰ saraṇ pa▫i▫aa. ||11||
Wealth, miraculous spiritual powers, wisdom and spiritual knowledge, are obtained from the Guru. The treasure of liberation is obtained in His Sanctuary. ||11||

ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣਾ ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਬਿਰਕਤੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
दुखु सुखु गुरमुखि सम करि जाणा हरख सोग ते बिरकतु भइआ ॥
Ḋukʰ sukʰ gurmukʰ sam kar jaaṇaa harakʰ sog ṫé birkaṫ bʰa▫i▫aa.
The Gurmukh looks upon pain and pleasure as one and the same; he remains untouched by joy and sorrow.

ਆਪੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇ ਲਇਆ ॥੧੨॥੭॥
आपु मारि गुरमुखि हरि पाए नानक सहजि समाइ लइआ ॥१२॥७॥
Aap maar gurmukʰ har paa▫é Naanak sahj samaa▫é la▫i▫aa. ||12||7||
Conquering his self-conceit, the Gurmukh finds the Lord; O Nanak! He intuitively merges into the Lord. ||12||7||

ਜਤੁ ਸਤੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਸਿ ਲੀਣਾ ॥੧॥
जतु सतु संजमु साचु द्रिड़ाइआ साच सबदि रसि लीणा ॥१॥
Jaṫ saṫ sanjam saach driṛ▫aa▫i▫aa saach sabaḋ ras leeṇaa. ||1||
Abstinence, chastity, self-control and truthfulness have been implanted within me; I am imbued with the sublime essence of the True Word of the Shabad. ||1||

ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਲੀਣਾ ॥
मेरा गुरु दइआलु सदा रंगि लीणा ॥
Méraa gur ḋa▫i▫aal saḋaa rang leeṇaa.
My Merciful Guru remains forever imbued with the Lord’s Love.

ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਰਹੈ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਸਾਚੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਪਤੀਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अहिनिसि रहै एक लिव लागी साचे देखि पतीणा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ahinis rahæ ék liv laagee saaché ḋékʰ paṫeeṇaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Day and night, He remains lovingly focused on the One Lord; gazing upon the True Lord, He is pleased. ||1||Pause||

ਰਹੈ ਗਗਨ ਪੁਰਿ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਮੈਸਰਿ ਅਨਹਤ ਸਬਦਿ ਰੰਗੀਣਾ ॥੨॥
रहै गगन पुरि द्रिसटि समैसरि अनहत सबदि रंगीणा ॥२॥
Rahæ gagan pur ḋarisat samæsar anhaṫ sabaḋ rangeeṇaa. ||2||
He abides in the Tenth Gate, and looks equally upon all; He is imbued with the unstruck sound current of the Shabad. ||2||

ਸਤੁ ਬੰਧਿ ਕੁਪੀਨ ਭਰਿਪੁਰਿ ਲੀਣਾ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਸੀਣਾ ॥੩॥
सतु बंधि कुपीन भरिपुरि लीणा जिहवा रंगि रसीणा ॥३॥
Saṫ banḋʰ kupeen bʰaripur leeṇaa jihvaa rang raseeṇaa. ||3||
Wearing the loin-cloth of chastity, He remains absorbed in the all-pervading Lord; His tongue enjoys the taste of God’s Love. ||3||

ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਚੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਚੁ ਰਾਚੇ ਕਿਰਤੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ਪਤੀਣਾ ॥੪॥
मिलै गुर साचे जिनि रचु राचे किरतु वीचारि पतीणा ॥४॥
Milæ gur saaché jin rach raaché kiraṫ veechaar paṫeeṇaa. ||4||
The One who created the creation has met the True Guru; contemplating the Guru’s lifestyle, He is pleased. ||4||

ਏਕ ਮਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਸਰਬ ਮਹਿ ਏਕਾ ਏਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥੫॥
एक महि सरब सरब महि एका एह सतिगुरि देखि दिखाई ॥५॥
Ék mėh sarab sarab mėh ékaa éh saṫgur ḋékʰ ḋikʰaa▫ee. ||5||
All are in the One, and the One is in all. This is what the True Guru has shown me. ||5||

ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਏ ਖੰਡ ਮੰਡਲ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਾ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਖਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੬॥
जिनि कीए खंड मंडल ब्रहमंडा सो प्रभु लखनु न जाई ॥६॥
Jin kee▫é kʰand mandal barahmandaa so parabʰ lakʰan na jaa▫ee. ||6||
He who created the worlds, solar systems and galaxies - that God cannot be known. ||6||
|
ਦੀਪਕ ਤੇ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥੭॥
दीपक ते दीपकु परगासिआ त्रिभवण जोति दिखाई ॥७॥
Ḋeepak ṫé ḋeepak pargaasi▫aa ṫaribʰavaṇ joṫ ḋikʰaa▫ee. ||7||
From the lamp of God, the lamp within is lit; the Divine Light illuminates the three worlds. ||7||

ਸਚੈ ਤਖਤਿ ਸਚ ਮਹਲੀ ਬੈਠੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਈ ॥੮॥
सचै तखति सच महली बैठे निरभउ ताड़ी लाई ॥८॥
Sachæ ṫakʰaṫ sach mahlee bætʰé nirbʰa▫o ṫaaṛee laa▫ee. ||8||
The Guru sits on the true throne in the true mansion; He is attuned, absorbed in the Fearless Lord. ||8||
|
ਮੋਹਿ ਗਇਆ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਵਾਈ ॥੯॥
मोहि गइआ बैरागी जोगी घटि घटि किंगुरी वाई ॥९॥
Mohi ga▫i▫aa bæraagee jogee gʰat gʰat kinguree vaa▫ee. ||9||
The Guru, the detached Yogi, has enticed the hearts of all; He plays His harp in each and every heart. ||9||
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੀ ਛੂਟੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਚੁ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੧੦॥੮॥
नानक सरणि प्रभू की छूटे सतिगुर सचु सखाई ॥१०॥८॥
Naanak saraṇ parabʰoo kee chʰooté saṫgur sach sakʰaa▫ee. ||10||8||
O Nanak! In God’s Sanctuary, one is emancipated; the True Guru becomes our true help and support. ||10||8||

ਅਉਹਠਿ ਹਸਤ ਮੜੀ ਘਰੁ ਛਾਇਆ ਧਰਣਿ ਗਗਨ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
अउहठि हसत मड़ी घरु छाइआ धरणि गगन कल धारी ॥१॥
A▫uhatʰ hasaṫ maṛee gʰar chʰaa▫i▫aa ḋʰaraṇ gagan kal ḋʰaaree. ||1||
He has made His home in the monastery of the heart; He has infused His power into the earth and the sky. ||1||
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੇਤੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਉਧਾਰੀ ਸੰਤਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुरमुखि केती सबदि उधारी संतहु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gurmukʰ kéṫee sabaḋ uḋʰaaree sanṫahu. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Through the Word of the Shabad, the Gurmukhs have saved so very many, O Saints. ||1||Pause||

ਮਮਤਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਸੋਖੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
ममता मारि हउमै सोखै त्रिभवणि जोति तुमारी ॥२॥
Mamṫaa maar ha▫umæ sokʰæ ṫaribʰavaṇ joṫ ṫumaaree. ||2||
He conquers attachment, and eradicates egotism, and sees Your Divine Light pervading the three worlds, Lord. ||2||
|
ਮਨਸਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
मनसा मारि मनै महि राखै सतिगुर सबदि वीचारी ॥३॥
Mansaa maar manæ mėh raakʰæ saṫgur sabaḋ veechaaree. ||3||
He conquers desire, and enshrines the Lord within his mind; he contemplates the Word of the True Guru’s Shabad. ||3||

ਸਿੰਙੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਅਨਾਹਦਿ ਵਾਜੈ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
सिंङी सुरति अनाहदि वाजै घटि घटि जोति तुमारी ॥४॥
Sińee suraṫ anaahaḋ vaajæ gʰat gʰat joṫ ṫumaaree. ||4||
The horn of consciousness vibrates the unstruck sound current; Your Light illuminates each and every heart, Lord. ||4||

ਪਰਪੰਚ ਬੇਣੁ ਤਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਅਗਨਿ ਪਰਜਾਰੀ ॥੫॥
परपंच बेणु तही मनु राखिआ ब्रहम अगनि परजारी ॥५॥
Parpanch béṇ ṫahee man raakʰi▫aa barahm agan parjaaree. ||5||
He plays the flute of the universe in his mind, and lights the fire of God. ||5||
|
ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜੋਤਿ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥੬॥
पंच ततु मिलि अहिनिसि दीपकु निरमल जोति अपारी ॥६॥
Panch ṫaṫ mil ahinis ḋeepak nirmal joṫ apaaree. ||6||
Bringing together the five elements, day and night, the Lord’s lamp shines with the Immaculate Light of the Infinite. ||6||

ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਲਉਕੇ ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਵਾਜੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਨਿਰਾਰੀ ॥੭॥
रवि ससि लउके इहु तनु किंगुरी वाजै सबदु निरारी ॥७॥
Rav sas la▫uké ih ṫan kinguree vaajæ sabaḋ niraaree. ||7||
The right and left nostrils, the sun and the moon channels, are the strings of the body-harp; they vibrate the wondrous melody of the Shabad. ||7||

ਸਿਵ ਨਗਰੀ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣੁ ਅਉਧੂ ਅਲਖੁ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥੮॥
सिव नगरी महि आसणु अउधू अलखु अगंमु अपारी ॥८॥
Siv nagree mėh aasaṇ a▫oḋʰoo alakʰ agamm apaaree. ||8||
The true hermit obtains a seat in the City of God, the invisible, inaccessible, infinite. ||8||
|
ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਜਾ ਪੰਚ ਵਸਹਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੯॥
काइआ नगरी इहु मनु राजा पंच वसहि वीचारी ॥९॥
Kaa▫i▫aa nagree ih man raajaa panch vasėh veechaaree. ||9||
The mind is the king of the city of the body; the five sources of knowledge dwell within it. ||9||

ਸਬਦਿ ਰਵੈ ਆਸਣਿ ਘਰਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਦਲੁ ਕਰੇ ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ ॥੧੦॥
सबदि रवै आसणि घरि राजा अदलु करे गुणकारी ॥१०॥
Sabaḋ ravæ aasaṇ gʰar raajaa aḋal karé guṇkaaree. ||10||
Seated in his home, this king chants the Shabad; he administers justice and virtue. ||10||
|
ਕਾਲੁ ਬਿਕਾਲੁ ਕਹੇ ਕਹਿ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਜੀਵਤ ਮੂਆ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੧੧॥
कालु बिकालु कहे कहि बपुरे जीवत मूआ मनु मारी ॥११॥
Kaal bikaal kahé kahi bapuré jeevaṫ moo▫aa man maaree. ||11||
What can poor death or birth say to him? Conquering his mind, he remains dead while still alive. ||11||
