1408 ਭੈ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਮਾਣਿਅਉ ਲਾਖ ਮਹਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਯਉ ॥ Bʰæ nirbʰa▫o maaṇi▫a▫o laakʰ mėh alakʰ lakʰaa▫ya▫o. In the Fear of God, You enjoy the Fearless Lord; among the thousands of beings, You see the Unseen Lord. ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਗਤਿ ਗਭੀਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪਰਚਾਯਉ ॥ Agam agochar gaṫ gabʰeer saṫgur parchaa▫ya▫o. Through the True Guru, You have realized the state of the Inaccessible, Unfathomable, Profound Lord. ਗੁਰ ਪਰਚੈ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਰਾਜ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਕਮਾਯਉ ॥ Gur parchæ parvaaṇ raaj mėh jog kamaa▫ya▫o. Meeting with the Guru, You are certified and approved; You practice Yoga in the midst of wealth and power. ਧੰਨਿ ਧੰਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਧੰਨਿ ਅਭਰ ਸਰ ਸੁਭਰ ਭਰਾਯਉ ॥ Ḋʰan ḋʰan gur ḋʰan abʰar sar subʰar bʰaraa▫ya▫o. Blessed, blessed, blessed is the Guru, who has filled to overflowing the pools which were empty. ਗੁਰ ਗਮ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਿ ਅਜਰੁ ਜਰਿਓ ਸਰਿ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਸਮਾਇਯਉ ॥ Gur gam parmaaṇ ajar jari▫o sar sanṫokʰ samaa▫i▫ya▫o. Reaching up to the certified Guru, You endure the unendurable; You are immersed in the pool of contentment. ਗੁਰ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਕਲੵੁਚਰੈ ਤੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਨਿਜੁ ਪਾਇਯਉ ॥੮॥ Gur arjun kal▫yuchræ ṫæ sahj jog nij paa▫i▫ya▫o. ||8|| So, says KALL: O Guru Arjun, You have intuitively attained the state of Yoga within Yourself. ||8|| ਅਮਿਉ ਰਸਨਾ ਬਦਨਿ ਬਰ ਦਾਤਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰ ਗੁਰ ਸੂਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਨਿਵਾਰੵਉ ॥ Ami▫o rasnaa baḋan bar ḋaaṫ alakʰ apaar gur soor sabaḋ ha▫umæ nirvaar▫ya▫o. Nectar drips from Your tongue, and Your mouth gives Blessings, O Incomprehensible and Infinite Spiritual Hero. O Guru, the Word of Your Shabad eradicates egotism. ਪੰਚਾਹਰੁ ਨਿਦਲਿਅਉ ਸੁੰਨ ਸਹਜਿ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਸਹਾਰੵਉ ॥ Panchaahar niḋli▫a▫o sunn sahj nij gʰar sahaar▫ya▫o. You have overpowered the five enticing vices and established the Absolute Lord within your own being with intuitive ease. ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਜਗ ਉਧਰੵਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਾਇਅਉ ॥ Har naam laag jag uḋʰar▫ya▫o saṫgur riḋæ basaa▫i▫a▫o. Attached to the Lord’s Name, the world is saved; enshrine the True Guru within your heart. ਗੁਰ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਕਲੵੁਚਰੈ ਤੈ ਜਨਕਹ ਕਲਸੁ ਦੀਪਾਇਅਉ ॥੯॥ Gur arjun kal▫yuchræ ṫæ jankah kalas ḋeepaa▫i▫a▫o. ||9|| So, says KALL: O Guru Arjun, You have illuminated the highest pinnacle of wisdom. ||9|| ਸੋਰਠੇ ॥ Sortʰé. Sorat’h: ਗੁਰੁ ਅਰਜੁਨੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੁ ਪਾਰਥਉ ਚਾਲੈ ਨਹੀ ॥ Gur arjun purakʰ parmaaṇ paarṫʰa▫o chaalæ nahee. Guru Arjun is the certified Primal Person; like Arjuna, He never leaves the field of battle. ਨੇਜਾ ਨਾਮ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਅਉ ॥੧॥ Néjaa naam neesaaṇ saṫgur sabaḋ savaari▫a▫o. ||1|| The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is His spear and insignia. He is embellished with the Shabad, the Word of the True Guru. ||1|| ਭਵਜਲੁ ਸਾਇਰੁ ਸੇਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੀ ਕਾ ਬੋਹਿਥਾ ॥ Bʰavjal saa▫ir séṫ naam haree kaa bohiṫʰaa. The Lord’s Name is the Boat, the Bridge to cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ਤੁਅ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੰ ਹੇਤੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਜਗੁ ਉਧਰੵਉ ॥੨॥ Ṫu▫a saṫgur saⁿ héṫ naam laag jag uḋʰar▫yao. ||2|| You are in love with the True Guru; attached to the Naam, You have saved the world. ||2|| ਜਗਤ ਉਧਾਰਣੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੁਠੈ ਪਾਇਅਉ ॥ Jagaṫ uḋʰaaraṇ naam saṫgur ṫutʰæ paa▫i▫a▫o. The Naam is the Saving Grace of the world; by the Pleasure of the True Guru, it is obtained. ਅਬ ਨਾਹਿ ਅਵਰ ਸਰਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਬਾਰੰਤਰਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਪੜੀ ॥੩॥੧੨॥ Ab naahi avar sar kaam baaranṫar pooree paṛee. ||3||12|| Now, I am not concerned with anything else; at Your Door, I am fulfilled. ||3||12|| ਜੋਤਿ ਰੂਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹਾਯਉ ॥ Joṫ roop har aap guroo Naanak kahaa▫ya▫o. The Embodiment of Light, the Lord Himself is called Guru Nanak. ਤਾ ਤੇ ਅੰਗਦੁ ਭਯਉ ਤਤ ਸਿਉ ਤਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਯਉ ॥ Ṫaa ṫé angaḋ bʰa▫ya▫o ṫaṫ si▫o ṫaṫ milaa▫ya▫o. From Him, came Guru Angad; His essence was absorbed into the essence. ਅੰਗਦਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਮਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਕੀਅਉ ॥ Angaḋ kirpaa ḋʰaar amar saṫgur ṫʰir kee▫a▫o. Guru Angad showed His Mercy, and established Amar Das as the True Guru. ਅਮਰਦਾਸਿ ਅਮਰਤੁ ਛਤ੍ਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਦੀਅਉ ॥ Amarḋaas amraṫ chʰaṫar gur raamėh ḋee▫a▫o. Guru Amar Das blessed Guru Ram Das with the umbrella of immortality. ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਰਸਿ ਕਹਿ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਯਣ ॥ Gur Raamḋaas ḋarsan paras kahi maṫʰuraa amriṫ ba▫yaṇ. So speaks Mathura: gazing upon the Blessed Vision, the Darshan of Guru Ram Das, His speech became as sweet as nectar. ਮੂਰਤਿ ਪੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਰਜੁਨੁ ਪਿਖਹੁ ਨਯਣ ॥੧॥ Mooraṫ panch parmaaṇ purakʰ gur arjun pikʰahu na▫yaṇ. ||1|| With your eyes, see the certified Primal Person, Guru Arjun, the Fifth Manifestation of the Guru. ||1|| ਸਤਿ ਰੂਪੁ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਧਰਿਓ ਉਰਿ ॥ Saṫ roop saṫ naam saṫ sanṫokʰ ḋʰari▫o ur. He is the Embodiment of Truth; He has enshrined the True Name, Sat Naam, Truth and contentment within His heart. ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਪਰਤਖਿ ਲਿਖੵਉ ਅਛਰੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧੁਰਿ ॥ Aaḋ purakʰ parṫakʰ likʰ▫ya▫o achʰar masṫak ḋʰur. From the very beginning, the Primal Being has written this destiny upon His forehead. ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗਮਗੈ ਤੇਜੁ ਭੂਅ ਮੰਡਲਿ ਛਾਯਉ ॥ Pargat joṫ jagmagæ ṫéj bʰoo▫a mandal chʰaa▫ya▫o. His Divine Light shines forth, dazzling and radiant; His Glorious Grandeur pervades the realms of the world. ਪਾਰਸੁ ਪਰਸਿ ਪਰਸੁ ਪਰਸਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਹਾਯਉ ॥ Paaras paras paras paras gur guroo kahaa▫ya▫o. Meeting the Guru, touching the Philosopher’s Stone, He was acclaimed as Guru. ਭਨਿ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਹੁ ॥ Bʰan maṫʰuraa mooraṫ saḋaa ṫʰir laa▫é chiṫ sanmukʰ rahhu. So speaks Mathura: I constantly focus my consciousness on Him; as Sunmukh, I look to Him. ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਜਹਾਜੁ ਅਰਜੁਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਗਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ੍ਟਿ ਲਗਿ ਬਿਤਰਹੁ ॥੨॥ Kaljug jahaaj arjun guroo sagal sarisat lag biṫrahu. ||2|| In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, Guru Arjun is the Boat; attached to him, the entire universe is safely carried across. ||2|| ਤਿਹ ਜਨ ਜਾਚਹੁ ਜਗਤ੍ਰ ਪਰ ਜਾਨੀਅਤੁ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਰਯਨਿ ਬਾਸੁ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਹਿਤੁ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ॥ Ṫih jan jaachahu jagṫar par jaanee▫aṫ baasur ra▫yan baas jaa ko hiṫ naam si▫o. I beg from that humble being who is known all over the world, who lives in, and loves the Name, night and day. ਪਰਮ ਅਤੀਤੁ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੰਗੵੌ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਪੈ ਦੇਖੀਅਤੁ ਧਾਮ ਸਿਉ ॥ Param aṫeeṫ parmésur kæ rang rang▫y▫ou baasnaa ṫé baahar pæ ḋékʰee▫aṫ ḋʰaam si▫o. He is supremely unattached, and imbued with the Love of the Transcendent Lord; he is free of desire, but he lives as a family man. ਅਪਰ ਪਰੰਪਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਲਾਗੵੌ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਰਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਉਰੈ ਕਾਮ ਸਿਉ ॥ Apar parampar purakʰ si▫o parém laag▫y▫ou bin bʰagvanṫ ras naahee a▫uræ kaam si▫o. He is dedicated to the Love of the Infinite, Limitless Primal Lord God; he has no concerns for any other pleasure, except for the Lord God. ਮਥੁਰਾ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਮਯ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਗੁਰੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕੈ ਹੇਤਿ ਪਾਇ ਰਹਿਓ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ॥੩॥ Maṫʰuraa ko parabʰ sarab ma▫y arjun gur bʰagaṫ kæ héṫ paa▫é rahi▫o mil raam si▫o. ||3|| Guru Arjun is the All-pervading Lord God of Mathura. Devoted to His Worship, he remains attached to the Lord’s Feet. ||3|| |
