ਉਲਟਿ ਭਈ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ॥

Ulat bʰa▫ee sukʰ sahj samaaḋʰ.

They have been transformed into the peaceful, tranquil concentration of Samadhi.

ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ਆਪੈ ਆਪ ॥

Aap pachʰaanæ aapæ aap.

When someone understands his own self,

ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਤੀਨੌ ਤਾਪ ॥੨॥

Rog na bi▫aapæ ṫeenou ṫaap. ||2||

he no longer suffers from illness and the three fevers. ||2||

ਅਬ ਮਨੁ ਉਲਟਿ ਸਨਾਤਨੁ ਹੂਆ ॥

Ab man ulat sanaaṫan hoo▫aa.

My mind has now been restored to its original purity.

ਤਬ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਜਬ ਜੀਵਤ ਮੂਆ ॥

Ṫab jaani▫aa jab jeevaṫ moo▫aa.

When I became dead while still alive, only then did I come to know the Lord.

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਉ ॥

Kaho Kabeer sukʰ sahj samaava▫o.

Says Kabir, I am now immersed in intuitive peace and poise.

ਆਪਿ ਨ ਡਰਉ ਨ ਅਵਰ ਡਰਾਵਉ ॥੩॥੧੭॥

Aap na dara▫o na avar daraava▫o. ||3||17||

I do not fear anyone, and I do not strike fear into anyone else. ||3||17||

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ॥

Ga▫oṛee Kabeer jee.

Gauree, Kabir Jee:

ਪਿੰਡਿ ਮੂਐ ਜੀਉ ਕਿਹ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਤਾ ॥

Pind moo▫æ jee▫o kih gʰar jaaṫaa.

When the body dies, where does the soul go?

ਸਬਦਿ ਅਤੀਤਿ ਅਨਾਹਦਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥

Sabaḋ aṫeeṫ anaahaḋ raaṫaa.

It is absorbed into the untouched, unstruck melody of the Word of the Shabad.

ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਤਿਨਹਿ ਪਛਾਨਿਆ ॥

Jin raam jaani▫aa ṫinėh pachʰaani▫aa.

Only one who knows the Lord realizes Him.

ਜਿਉ ਗੂੰਗੇ ਸਾਕਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥

Ji▫o goongé saakar man maani▫aa. ||1||

The mind is satisfied and satiated, like the mute who eats the sugar candy and just smiles, without speaking. ||1||

ਐਸਾ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਕਥੈ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥

Æsaa gi▫aan kaṫʰæ banvaaree.

Such is the spiritual wisdom which the Lord has imparted.

ਮਨ ਰੇ ਪਵਨ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਸੁਖਮਨ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Man ré pavan ḋariṛ sukʰman naaree. ||1|| rahaa▫o.

O mind, hold your breath steady within the central channel of the Sushmanaa. ||1||Pause||

ਸੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਜਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਰਨਾ ॥

So gur karahu jė bahur na karnaa.

Adopt such a Guru, that you shall not have to adopt another again.

ਸੋ ਪਦੁ ਰਵਹੁ ਜਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਰਵਨਾ ॥

So paḋ ravhu jė bahur na ravnaa.

Dwell in such a state, that you shall never have to dwell in any other.

ਸੋ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਧਰਹੁ ਜਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਧਰਨਾ ॥

So ḋʰi▫aan ḋʰarahu jė bahur na ḋʰarnaa.

Embrace such a meditation, that you shall never have to embrace any other.

ਐਸੇ ਮਰਹੁ ਜਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੨॥

Æsé marahu jė bahur na marnaa. ||2||

Die in such a way, that you shall never have to die again. ||2||

ਉਲਟੀ ਗੰਗਾ ਜਮੁਨ ਮਿਲਾਵਉ ॥

Ultee gangaa jamun milaava▫o.

Turn your breath away from the left channel, and away from the right channel, and unite them in the central channel of the Sushmanaa.

ਬਿਨੁ ਜਲ ਸੰਗਮ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਨੑਾਵਉ ॥

Bin jal sangam man mėh nĥaava▫o.

At their confluence within your mind, take your bath there without water.

ਲੋਚਾ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਉਹਾਰਾ ॥

Lochaa samsar ih bi▫uhaaraa.

To look upon all with an impartial eye - let this be your daily occupation.

ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਕਿਆ ਅਵਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥੩॥

Ṫaṫ beechaar ki▫aa avar beechaaraa. ||3||

Contemplate this essence of reality - what else is there to contemplate? ||3||

ਅਪੁ ਤੇਜੁ ਬਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਆਕਾਸਾ ॥

Ap ṫéj baa▫é pariṫʰmee aakaasaa.

Water, fire, wind, earth and ether -

ਐਸੀ ਰਹਤ ਰਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸਾ ॥

Æsee rahaṫ raha▫o har paasaa.

adopt such a way of life and you shall be close to the Lord.

ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥

Kahæ Kabeer niranjan ḋʰi▫aava▫o.

Says Kabir, meditate on the Immaculate Lord.

ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਉ ਜਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਆਵਉ ॥੪॥੧੮॥

Ṫiṫ gʰar jaa▫o jė bahur na aava▫o. ||4||18||

Go to that home, which you shall never have to leave. ||4||18||

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਤਿਪਦੇ ॥

Ga▫oṛee Kabeer jee ṫipḋé.

Gauree, Kabir Jee, Ti-Padas:

ਕੰਚਨ ਸਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਹੀ ਤੋਲਿ ॥

Kanchan si▫o paa▫ee▫æ nahee ṫol.

He cannot be obtained by offering your weight in gold.

ਮਨੁ ਦੇ ਰਾਮੁ ਲੀਆ ਹੈ ਮੋਲਿ ॥੧॥

Man ḋé raam lee▫aa hæ mol. ||1||

But I have bought the Lord by giving my mind to Him. ||1||

ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥

Ab mohi raam apunaa kar jaani▫aa.

Now I recognize that He is my Lord.

ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Sahj subʰaa▫é méraa man maani▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.

My mind is intuitively pleased with Him. ||1||Pause||

ਬ੍ਰਹਮੈ ਕਥਿ ਕਥਿ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

Barahmæ kaṫʰ kaṫʰ anṫ na paa▫i▫aa.

Brahma spoke of Him continually, but could not find His limit.

ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਬੈਠੇ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥

Raam bʰagaṫ bætʰé gʰar aa▫i▫aa. ||2||

Because of my devotion to the Lord, He has come to sit within the home of my inner being. ||2||

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਚੰਚਲ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥

Kaho Kabeer chanchal maṫ ṫi▫aagee.

Says Kabir, I have renounced my restless intellect.

ਕੇਵਲ ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਜ ਭਾਗੀ ॥੩॥੧॥੧੯॥

Kéval raam bʰagaṫ nij bʰaagee. ||3||1||19||

It is my destiny to worship the Lord alone. ||3||1||19||

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ॥

Ga▫oṛee Kabeer jee.

Gauree, Kabir Jee:

ਜਿਹ ਮਰਨੈ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਾਸਿਆ ॥

Jih marnæ sabʰ jagaṫ ṫaraasi▫aa.

That death which terrifies the entire world -

ਸੋ ਮਰਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਿਆ ॥੧॥

So marnaa gur sabaḋ pargaasi▫aa. ||1||

the nature of that death has been revealed to me, through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. ||1||

ਅਬ ਕੈਸੇ ਮਰਉ ਮਰਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥

Ab kæsé mara▫o maran man maani▫aa.

Now, how shall I die? My mind has already accepted death.

ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਤੇ ਜਿਨ ਰਾਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Mar mar jaaṫé jin raam na jaani▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.

Those who do not know the Lord, die over and over again, and then depart. ||1||Pause||

ਮਰਨੋ ਮਰਨੁ ਕਹੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ॥

Marno maran kahæ sabʰ ko▫ee.

Everyone says, “I will die, I will die”.

ਸਹਜੇ ਮਰੈ ਅਮਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥

Sėhjé maræ amar ho▫é so▫ee. ||2||

But he alone becomes immortal, who dies with intuitive understanding. ||2||

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਅਨੰਦਾ ॥

Kaho Kabeer man bʰa▫i▫aa ananḋaa.

Says Kabir, my mind is filled with bliss;

ਗਇਆ ਭਰਮੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥੩॥੨੦॥

Ga▫i▫aa bʰaram rahi▫aa parmaananḋaa. ||3||20||

my doubts have been eliminated, and I am in ecstasy. ||3||20||

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ॥

Ga▫oṛee Kabeer jee.

Gauree, Kabir Jee:

ਕਤ ਨਹੀ ਠਉਰ ਮੂਲੁ ਕਤ ਲਾਵਉ ॥

Kaṫ nahee tʰa▫ur mool kaṫ laava▫o.

There is no special place where the soul aches; where should I apply the ointment?

ਖੋਜਤ ਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੧॥

Kʰojaṫ ṫan mėh tʰa▫ur na paava▫o. ||1||

I have searched my body, but I have not found such a place. ||1||

ਲਾਗੀ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਪੀਰ ॥

Laagee ho▫é so jaanæ peer.

He alone knows it, who feels the pain of such love;

ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਅਨੀਆਲੇ ਤੀਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Raam bʰagaṫ anee▫aalé ṫeer. ||1|| rahaa▫o.

the arrows of the Lord’s devotional worship are so sharp! ||1||Pause||

ਏਕ ਭਾਇ ਦੇਖਉ ਸਭ ਨਾਰੀ ॥

Ék bʰaa▫é ḋékʰ▫a▫u sabʰ naaree.

I look upon all His soul-brides with an impartial eye;

ਕਿਆ ਜਾਨਉ ਸਹ ਕਉਨ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੨॥

Ki▫aa jaan▫o sah ka▫un pi▫aaree. ||2||

how can I know which ones are dear to the Husband Lord? ||2||

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥

Kaho Kabeer jaa kæ masṫak bʰaag.

Says Kabir, one who has such destiny inscribed upon her forehead -

ਸਭ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਹਾਗੁ ॥੩॥੨੧॥

Sabʰ par▫har ṫaa ka▫o milæ suhaag. ||3||21||

her Husband Lord turns all others away, and meets with her. ||3||21||
