1394 ਸਕਯਥੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਕਲੵੁਚਰੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਸੵਿਉ ਅਮਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ॥੮॥ Sakyaṫʰ janam kal▫yuchræ gur paras▫yi▫o amar pargaas. ||8|| So, says KALL: fruitful is the life of one who meets with Guru Amar Das, radiant with the Light of God. ||8|| ਬਾਰਿਜੁ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਹਿਣੈ ਸਿਧਿ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਮੁਖੁ ਜੋਵੈ ॥ Baarij kar ḋaahiṇæ siḋʰ sanmukʰ mukʰ jovæ. On His right hand is the sign of the lotus; the Siddhis, the supernatural spiritual powers, await His Command. ਰਿਧਿ ਬਸੈ ਬਾਂਵਾਂਗਿ ਜੁ ਤੀਨਿ ਲੋਕਾਂਤਰ ਮੋਹੈ ॥ Riḋʰ basæ baaⁿvaaⁿg jo ṫeen lokaanṫar mohæ. On His left are worldly powers, which fascinate the three worlds. ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸੈ ਅਕਹੀਉ ਸੋਇ ਰਸੁ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਜਾਤਉ ॥ Riḋæ basæ ak▫hee▫o so▫é ras ṫin hee jaaṫa▫o. The Inexpressible Lord abides in His Heart; He alone knows this joy. ਮੁਖਹੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਉਚਰੈ ਅਮਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਇਤੁ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਉ ॥ Mukʰahu bʰagaṫ uchræ amar gur iṫ rang raaṫa▫o. Guru Amar Das utters the words of devotion, imbued with the Love of the Lord. ਮਸਤਕਿ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ਸਚਉ ਕਰਮੁ ਕਲੵ ਜੋੜਿ ਕਰ ਧੵਾਇਅਉ ॥ Masṫak neesaaṇ sacha▫o karam kal▫y joṛ kar ḋʰéaa▫i▫a▫o. On His forehead is the true insignia of the Lord’s Mercy; with his palms pressed together, KALL meditates on Him. ਪਰਸਿਅਉ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਸਰਬ ਇਛ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਅਉ ॥੯॥ Parsi▫o guroo saṫgur ṫilak sarab ichʰ ṫin paa▫i▫a▫o. ||9|| Whoever meets with the Guru, the certified True Guru, has all his desires fulfilled. ||9|| ਚਰਣ ਤ ਪਰ ਸਕਯਥ ਚਰਣ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰ ਪਵਲਿ ਰਯ ॥ Charaṇ ṫa par sakyaṫʰ charaṇ gur amar paval ra▫y. Supremely fruitful are the feet which walk upon the path of Guru Amar Das. ਹਥ ਤ ਪਰ ਸਕਯਥ ਹਥ ਲਗਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰ ਪਯ ॥ Haṫʰ ṫa par sakyaṫʰ haṫʰ lagėh gur amar pa▫y. Supremely fruitful are the hands which touch the feet of Guru Amar Das. ਜੀਹ ਤ ਪਰ ਸਕਯਥ ਜੀਹ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰੁ ਭਣਿਜੈ ॥ Jeeh ṫa par sakyaṫʰ jeeh gur amar bʰaṇijæ. Supremely fruitful is the tongue which utters the praises of Guru Amar Das. ਨੈਣ ਤ ਪਰ ਸਕਯਥ ਨਯਣਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਮਰੁ ਪਿਖਿਜੈ ॥ Næṇ ṫa par sakyaṫʰ na▫yaṇ gur amar pikʰijæ. Supremely fruitful are the eyes which behold Guru Amar Das. ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਤ ਪਰ ਸਕਯਥ ਸ੍ਰਵਣਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਮਰੁ ਸੁਣਿਜੈ ॥ Sarvaṇ ṫa par sakyaṫʰ sarvaṇ gur amar suṇijæ. Supremely fruitful are the ears which hear the Praises of Guru Amar Das. ਸਕਯਥੁ ਸੁ ਹੀਉ ਜਿਤੁ ਹੀਅ ਬਸੈ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸੁ ਨਿਜ ਜਗਤ ਪਿਤ ॥ Sakyaṫʰ so hee▫o jiṫ hee▫a basæ gur Amarḋaas nij jagaṫ piṫ. Fruitful is the heart in which Guru Amar Das, the Father of the world, Himself abides. ਸਕਯਥੁ ਸੁ ਸਿਰੁ ਜਾਲਪੁ ਭਣੈ ਜੁ ਸਿਰੁ ਨਿਵੈ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰ ਨਿਤ ॥੧॥੧੦॥ Sakyaṫʰ so sir jaalap bʰaṇæ jo sir nivæ gur amar niṫ. ||1||10|| Fruitful is the head, says Jaalap, which bows forever before Guru Amar Das. ||1||10|| ਤਿ ਨਰ ਦੁਖ ਨਹ ਭੁਖ ਤਿ ਨਰ ਨਿਧਨ ਨਹੁ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ॥ Ṫė nar ḋukʰ nah bʰukʰ ṫė nar niḋʰan nahu kahee▫ahi. They do not suffer pain or hunger, and they cannot be called poor. ਤਿ ਨਰ ਸੋਕੁ ਨਹੁ ਹੂਐ ਤਿ ਨਰ ਸੇ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਲਹੀਅਹਿ ॥ Ṫė nar sok nahu hu▫æ ṫė nar sé anṫ na lahee▫ah. They do not grieve, and their limits cannot be found. ਤਿ ਨਰ ਸੇਵ ਨਹੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਤਿ ਨਰ ਸਯ ਸਹਸ ਸਮਪਹਿ ॥ Ṫė nar sév nahu karahi ṫė nar sa▫y sahas sampėh. They do not serve anyone else, but they give gifts to hundreds and thousands. ਤਿ ਨਰ ਦੁਲੀਚੈ ਬਹਹਿ ਤਿ ਨਰ ਉਥਪਿ ਬਿਥਪਹਿ ॥ Ṫė nar ḋuleechæ bahėh ṫė nar uṫʰap biṫʰpahi. They sit on beautiful carpets; they establish and disestablish at will. ਸੁਖ ਲਹਹਿ ਤਿ ਨਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਮਹਿ ਅਭੈ ਪਟੁ ਰਿਪ ਮਧਿ ਤਿਹ ॥ Sukʰ lahėh ṫė nar sansaar mėh abʰæ pat rip maḋʰ ṫih. They find peace in this world, and live fearlessly amidst their enemies. ਸਕਯਥ ਤਿ ਨਰ ਜਾਲਪੁ ਭਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸੁ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨੁ ਜਿਹ ॥੨॥੧੧॥ Sakyaṫʰ ṫė nar jaalap bʰaṇæ gur Amarḋaas suparsan jih. ||2||11|| They are fruitful and prosperous, says Jaalap. Guru Amar Das is pleased with them. ||2||11|| ਤੈ ਪਢਿਅਉ ਇਕੁ ਮਨਿ ਧਰਿਅਉ ਇਕੁ ਕਰਿ ਇਕੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਓ ॥ Ṫæ padʰi▫a▫o ik man dʰari▫a▫o ik kar ik pachʰaaṇi▫o. You read about the One Lord, and enshrine Him in Your mind; You realize the One and Only Lord. ਨਯਣਿ ਬਯਣਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਇਕੁ ਇਕੁ ਦੁਹੁ ਠਾਂਇ ਨ ਜਾਣਿਓ ॥ Na▫yaṇ ba▫yaṇ muhi ik ik ḋuhu tʰaaⁿ▫é na jaaṇi▫o. With Your eyes and the words You speak, You dwell upon the One Lord; You do not know any other place of rest. ਸੁਪਨਿ ਇਕੁ ਪਰਤਖਿ ਇਕੁ ਇਕਸ ਮਹਿ ਲੀਣਉ ॥ Supan ik parṫakʰ ik ikas mėh leeṇa▫o. You know the One Lord while dreaming, and the One Lord while awake. You are absorbed in the One. ਤੀਸ ਇਕੁ ਅਰੁ ਪੰਜਿ ਸਿਧੁ ਪੈਤੀਸ ਨ ਖੀਣਉ ॥ Ṫees ik ar panj siḋʰ pæṫees na kʰeeṇa▫o. At the age of seventy-one, You began to march towards the Indestructible Lord. ਇਕਹੁ ਜਿ ਲਾਖੁ ਲਖਹੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਹੈ ਇਕੁ ਇਕੁ ਕਰਿ ਵਰਨਿਅਉ ॥ Ikahu jė laakʰ lakʰahu alakʰ hæ ik ik kar varni▫a▫o. The One Lord, who takes hundreds of thousands of forms, cannot be seen. He can only be described as One. ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜਾਲਪੁ ਭਣੈ ਤੂ ਇਕੁ ਲੋੜਹਿ ਇਕੁ ਮੰਨਿਅਉ ॥੩॥੧੨॥ Gur Amarḋaas jaalap bʰaṇæ ṫoo ik loṛėh ik manni▫a▫o. ||3||12|| So speaks Jaalap: O Guru Amar Das, You long for the One Lord, and believe in the One Lord alone. ||3||12|| ਜਿ ਮਤਿ ਗਹੀ ਜੈਦੇਵਿ ਜਿ ਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੈ ਸੰਮਾਣੀ ॥ Jė maṫ gahee Jæḋév jė maṫ naamæ sammaaṇee. The understanding which Jai Dayv grasped, the understanding which permeated Namdev, ਜਿ ਮਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ ਚਿਤਿ ਭਗਤ ਕੰਬੀਰਹਿ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ Jė maṫ Ṫrilochan chiṫ bʰagaṫ kambeerėh jaaṇee. the understanding which was in the consciousness of Trilochan and known by the devotee Kabir, ਰੁਕਮਾਂਗਦ ਕਰਤੂਤਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਜੰਪਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ॥ Rukmaaⁿgaḋ karṫooṫ raam jampahu niṫ bʰaa▫ee. by which Rukmaangad constantly meditated on the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny, ਅੰਮਰੀਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ Ammreek parahlaaḋ saraṇ gobinḋ gaṫ paa▫ee. which brought Ambreek and Prahlaad to seek the Sanctuary of the Lord of the Universe, and which brought them to salvation - ਤੈ ਲੋਭੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਤਜੀ ਸੁ ਮਤਿ ਜਲੵ ਜਾਣੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ॥ Ṫæ lobʰ kroḋʰ ṫarisnaa ṫajee so maṫ jal▫y jaaṇee jugaṫ. says JALL that sublime understanding has brought You to renounce greed, anger and desire, and to know the way. ਗੁਰੁ ਅਮਰਦਾਸੁ ਨਿਜ ਭਗਤੁ ਹੈ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਵਉ ਮੁਕਤਿ ॥੪॥੧੩॥ Gur Amarḋaas nij bʰagaṫ hæ ḋékʰ ḋaras paava▫o mukaṫ. ||4||13|| Guru Amar Das is the Lord’s own devotee; gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, one is liberated. ||4||13|| ਗੁਰੁ ਅਮਰਦਾਸੁ ਪਰਸੀਐ ਪੁਹਮਿ ਪਾਤਿਕ ਬਿਨਾਸਹਿ ॥ Gur Amarḋaas parsee▫æ puham paaṫik binaasėh. Meeting with Guru Amar Das, the earth is purged of its sin. ਗੁਰੁ ਅਮਰਦਾਸੁ ਪਰਸੀਐ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਆਸਾਸਹਿ ॥ Gur Amarḋaas parsee▫æ siḋʰ saaḋʰik aasaasėh. The Siddhas and seekers long to meet with Guru Amar Das. ਗੁਰੁ ਅਮਰਦਾਸੁ ਪਰਸੀਐ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਲਹੀਐ ਪਉ ਮੁਕਿਹਿ ॥ Gur Amarḋaas parsee▫æ ḋʰi▫aan lahee▫æ pa▫o mukihi. Meeting with Guru Amar Das, the mortal meditates on the Lord, and his journey comes to its end. ਗੁਰੁ ਅਮਰਦਾਸੁ ਪਰਸੀਐ ਅਭਉ ਲਭੈ ਗਉ ਚੁਕਿਹਿ ॥ Gur Amarḋaas parsee▫æ abʰa▫o labʰæ ga▫o chukihi. Meeting with Guru Amar Das, the Fearless Lord is obtained, and the cycle of reincarnation is brought to an end. |
